Sunil Tagare posted thisHappy Independence Day, India! India does not need more schools, colleges, teachers, coaching centers or air-conditioned classrooms. Instead the government should provide a free personal mobile-first AI tutor to every student. So education will be free for everyone and the government will only be responsible for conducting exams at designated centers. The students can learn in the language of their choice, live in their own homes, take exams when ready and will be guided on career options by AI. That will transform the country’s education system by orders of magnitude and students will make the right career choices. Whoever wants to be part of a school or college campus for fun and making friends etc. will be free to do so at their own expense. Imagine a college campus without classrooms or teachers! Anyway, how many students attend classes today? Or learn anything even if they do? Been there, done that. In order to survive, some schools and colleges will transform themselves in to start up incubators or hands-on research laboratories to enhance the AI tutor education. The students will still use AI but will be able to build things on their own. This will resolve some India-specific issues: coaching class mafia, reservations in colleges for SC/ST/OBC and so on. Meritocracy will rule as college admissions will be meaningless. In addition, the rural schools are in some cases several kilometers away and the students have to walk there everyday for lack of transportation. Some of these schools do not have basic amenities like water, power, enough classrooms, teaching staff and so on. All these issues will be resolved at the same time. One of the issues in India is the lack of communication between the teacher and the students because of historical or cultural reasons. When students realize that barrier is broken with an AI tutor, there is no going back. Plus if the AI tutor is the best in class in the world, what value can a local teacher add? Also in the future, one would be able to tell AI to make custom videos on the fly to better understand any topic. In as many different ways as possible until the concepts are clear. How can a teacher beat that? That will also be end of the politically-motivated and un-elected trouble makers and thugs who are trying to instigate kids and create mayhem without offering a solution. The biggest beneficiaries of this will be the parents, many of whom go broke just trying to get their children admitted to the best coaching classes, schools and colleges. Not to mention the pain of separation from their children as they go to far away colleges. This can happen only if the government invests heavily in AI infrastructure. Goal should be to go from 500GW of power today to 5,000GW by 2047 — on the eve of India’s 100 years of Independence.

Sunil Tagare liked thisSunil Tagare liked thisIn 1989, Tim Berners-Lee was working at CERN when he came up with an idea to solve a very practical problem: scientists around the world needed an easier way to share information across different computers. His solution became the World Wide Web. By the end of 1990, Berners-Lee had already created the first web server, browser and website at CERN. The first website, info.cern.ch, was actually about the Web itself. But the Web could have taken a very different path. CERN owned the technology. There were discussions around how it could be licensed and potentially generate money. Instead, CERN chose to make the Web free for everyone to use. On 30 April 1993, CERN released the Web software into the public domain and gave people permission to use, copy, modify and redistribute it without royalties. And that decision changed everything. By the end of 1993, there were already more than 500 known web servers. By the end of 1994, that number had reached around 10,000 servers and 10 million users. Today, the Web sits underneath much of the digital world we use every day: Google, YouTube, Instagram, e-commerce, online businesses, blogs and millions of websites. CERN could have tried to turn the Web into a revenue-generating technology. Instead, it chose to let everyone build on it. Sometimes, the most valuable technology decision is the one that doesn’t put a price on the technology. They have to understand it. This Shark Tank pitch is a reminder that preparation matters just as much as innovation. A weak presentation can overshadow a strong product. A confusing answer can create doubt. A missed opportunity can cost you the investment. Successful founders know that pitching isn't about memorizing a script. It's about communicating with clarity, confidence, and conviction. 🎯 Before you step into any investor meeting, ask yourself: ✅ Can I explain my business in 30 seconds? ✅ Can I clearly describe the problem I'm solving? ✅ Do I know my numbers inside and out? ✅ Can I answer difficult questions without hesitation? ✅ Would I invest in my own business after hearing this pitch? Investors don't just invest in products. They invest in founders who inspire confidence. 🚀 Preparation builds confidence. 📊 Confidence builds trust. 🤝 Trust attracts investment. Your next opportunity may depend on how well you tell your story. 👇 What's the biggest mistake founders make when pitching to investors? #SharkTank #Startup #Entrepreneurship #Pitching #Business #Investment #Founder #Leadership #BusinessGrowth #Success

Azores was the central point for all the cables coming in from North America before they got distributed to every country in Europe. Just a fun fact for submarine cable nerds." 😉

We partnered with Pump.co TCXC CSP partners can now cut #AWS / #GCP / #Azure costs by up to 60% — at $0 cost to them. (Pump gets paid by the cloud providers, not by your organization.) Why this matters: Cloud is one of the biggest cost centers in wholesale telecom. Why Pump: - ~5 min setup - buying power at scale - no code changes - AI optimization Simple, fast, high-impact. Shoutout to Liam D. Fahrion, Devan Baucom, Alexander Atalla, Zaffry Ikram + the Pump.co team 🤝

A proud moment for all of us at HFCL. Securing a five-year supply agreement worth USD 1.10 billion for high-fiber-count Optical Fiber Cables is a significant milestone in the company’s journey. It not only reflects the growing global demand for high-capacity fiber infrastructure but also highlights the trust placed in HFCL’s technology, manufacturing, and delivery capabilities. Long-term partnerships like this strengthen the foundation for building scalable and future-ready telecom networks across the world. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this possible.

It's no breaking news that CSPs consume enormous amounts of energy and have a massive carbon footprint, which for many, has been accumulated over a century. To address the challenge of gradually reducing both the energy consumption and this carbon footprint, MTN Consulting and TÉRAL RESEARCH have jointly launched a Telecom Energy & Sustainability (TES) service. Below is a sample of what we have produced: a ranking on Energy Intensity per $1M of Net PP&E. The picture is clear: there is a lot of work to do. And this is just the tip of the gigantic iceberg we are tracking. #telecommunications #telecom #DigitalEconomy #Connectivity #5G #6G #NetworkInfrastructure #Sustainability #TelecomInfraProject #Telco

We remain positive on China Mobile's expansion from telecom services to innovative business incl. China Mobile Cloud, ICT projects with platform capabilities, etc. However, 5G telecom services continues to slow down, with China industry newly added 5G base stations in Dec 2025 at 8k units lower than our estimates, and we expect 2026/ 27E new 5G base stations down 8%/ 7% YoY to 540k/ 500k units (Report link). On innovative business, we expect to see continuous growth ahead, supported by expanding hyper-scale computing capacity and AI ecosystem coverage across AI models/ applications. This stock currently trades at 3.6x 2026E EV/ EBITDA on 1.5% EBITDA YoY in 2026-27E, and we see the valuation is fair. With our revised 12M TP of HK$88 (from previously at HK$105) implying 10% upside (vs. 35% coverage avg.), we downgrade China Mobile from Buy to Neutral. We would turn more positive if we see improving 5G user spending, stronger-than-expected innovative business growth, or faster-than-expected ramp up in 6G telecom services.
