Join the fun!Thang L. shared thisI'm super excited about all of the roles we're hiring for at Mariana (there are a lot!!), but this one is near and dear. When I moved to Reno 10 years ago to build Gigafactory 1, I joined a scrappy, insanely talented team that had one mandate - build the biggest, baddest alien dreadnought battery factory on earth. The factory was the product, and everything was on the table to be challenged and reinvented. We showed the EPCs the door and decided that we would figure it out -- we worked until 3am, innovated on how factories were designed and constructed, made mistakes, learned, made more mistakes, and eventually ramped up the factory that would forever change the pace and scale of battery manufacturing globally. It was insanely painful, insanely rewarding, and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. This is that same opportunity, this time targeted at a different dinosaur - the minerals industry. The role is ambiguous, requires breakneck on-the-job learning, and will be different every day. And there is only one job requirement - being a badass engineer who is relentlessly solution-focused. Preventive holistic health care that is fundamentally preventative and sustainable can have such transformative impact not only on people's lives but society as a whole. There are very real reasons why people that live in the "Blue Zones' live long and happy lives. Health is wealth!

When the seven cofounders started the company, we wanted to honor our roots in PyTorch; torch carries the fire. We want the fire of AI to serve people everywhere. We named our company Fireworks to move the industry forward to be AI-first. Three and a half years in, we have grown substantially. Today, we process 30 trillion tokens a day, the biggest inference provider outside of the frontier labs’ APIs. We got to this impact by relentlessly defining what frontier inference is. It is the control we give to all application developers to customize their own model, deliver magically fast experience, and scale with maximum efficiency. We have built multiple product lines with Fireworks Training, Fireworks Inference and the best open models on one platform. We are accelerating to the next phase of scaling – enabling customers everywhere to experience the power of their own private models on Fireworks. This growth demands a world-class business leader, a unicorn, a one-of-a-kind. George is this leader. He is one of a very small number of people who have scaled not one but two iconic software companies. He worked alongside Marc Benioff at Salesforce, where he helped grow revenue from $100M to $5B+, and then did it again with Jeff Lawson at Twilio, driving nearly 10x growth in five years. While doing research for my video essay on these topics, I was surprised to learn that not all AI is created equal or even uses the same amount of resources. So how can we parse through the marketing and messaging of big tech's promises? What is actually helpful to address the climate crisis? More than two dozen FBI and DOJ insiders just told The Atlantic that Kash Patel drinks so heavily his own security detail cannot wake him. One night was bad enough that agents requested SWAT breaching equipment to get through his locked door. Read that again. The person whose phone rings first when America is attacked. Unconscious. Behind a door his own protective detail could not open without tactical gear. I have spent 40 years as a trial lawyer. I have sat across from plenty of powerful people in crisis. I know what accountability looks like. I also know what deflection looks like. Patel's only response to the reporting? A threat to sue. Not a denial. Not a medical explanation. Not a statement from his security detail. A lawsuit threat. That tells you everything about where we are. The FBI Director is the person who gets the 3 a.m. call on a terror attack. On a cyber incident. On a mass shooting. On a foreign intelligence breach. That call cannot go to voicemail while agents are outside debating whether to breach the door. This is not a partisan point. I would write the exact same words about any director in any administration. The job requires a person who answers the phone. This Congress has subpoena power but they won't use it. They won't compel testimony from the protective detail, review the incident reports, and demand medical fitness documentation for the role. After the midterms, the new Congress will. Either The Atlantic's reporting is wrong and the sources lied under professional risk, or the Director of the FBI is non-functional during the exact hours he is most likely to be needed. Both cannot be true. If you worked in national security, law enforcement, or a role with a duty to respond, what would have happened to you the morning after an incident like this?
