Standing room only, young energetic crowd. I was excited to see that although they’re worried about what the future holds, they were equally excited to embrace the future. Special thanks to Kara Saffrin and PJ Loughran for their trust in me. Followed that up with a quick trip to Seattle where I had the pleasure of speaking and leading an AI Masterclass for the YPO Seattle Chapters. I was joined by my friend and fellow YPO member Brandon Powell who led an advanced class on agents. Thank you to Nicolette Sharp Scott Swerland Virgil Betz and the rest of the chapter learning and leadership team.

Mike Pearson liked thisMike Pearson liked thisThere’s a quiet panic ripping through corporate America. Everyone’s sprinting to board the AI train. Meanwhile, the C-suite keeps shouting the same thing: “Get this company AI-ready! Yesterday.” But let’s be honest. Being AI-ready isn’t about tools. Success in the Age of AI doesn’t come in a box. You can’t just plug it in and watch the money roll in. This is the difference between adoption and alignment. And it all starts with organizational honesty. Want to seize the moment? Then ask your team hard questions: -Are your workflows actually working or just surviving? -Is your data current? Connected? Outdated? Siloed? -Do your people trust how AI will be used or are they quietly resisting it? If your company suffers from deep cultural or operational cracks, AI won’t fix them. It’ll just make them bigger. And bigger! (Remember the chatbot craze? Many companies didn’t automate service. They automated confusion.) Before you jump on the AI hype train, perform a pain audit. Ask yourself: -Where are your inefficiencies? -Which ones are technical and which are human? - Could stronger leadership solve them faster than technology? -Could better data alone make the difference? If your people don’t trust your data, automating it won’t fix the problem. It’ll just amplify it. Yes, AI is terrific. But it’s not a panacea. So, expose your weak spots in leadership, in talent, in data governance. Then use AI to make a good operation great. Because if you automate dysfunction, you don’t become efficient. You just become faster at failing. Think about it this way: readiness isn’t some tech milestone you can reach. It’s a cultural chasm that must be crossed. And you do this by: -Building better daily habits -Encouraging brave decisions that test your comfort zone. -Being willing to reimagine your standard operating procedures. Why? The companies that will own the AI age won’t just win because they picked the right tools. They’re the ones unafraid to lean into truth. Culturally aligned, they did the hard inner work BEFORE they ever booked passage onboard the AI train. The real question is: what’s one uncomfortable truth your company keeps avoiding in its AI transformation?

Mike Pearson liked thisMike Pearson liked thisLast week I had the privilege of opening the first Kapur Center of AI Leadership in Nogales, Arizona. This was more than just a ribbon-cutting. It was a community milestone. • City leaders, county officials, school administrators, and the local newspaper were all present. • We recognized Mr. Cesar Parada Sr., former councilman, a longtime champion of vocational training and a pillar of Nogales. • I led a 6-hour “train the trainer” workshop, equipping 7 staff members to become AI educators for their schools and community. The impact of this will multiply. Those 7 trainers will now introduce AI to hundreds of students and community members. That’s how transformation begins. Why does this matter? Because AI is no longer just for tech hubs. It is democratizing access to learning, entrepreneurship, and innovation everywhere — even in small border communities like Nogales. What can the future hold for Nogales and similar communities? • Students gaining real-world AI skills early. • Local businesses using AI to compete and grow. • New entrepreneurs building ventures that would never have been possible before. This center is just the beginning. The company was started 10 years ago to make the perfect bikes for kids and get them excited about riding bikes. I love the thought of helping kids build their love of riding. CEO is Bernd Hake my former boss at Hugo Boss, and a truly motivational and dynamic leader. Now I have to do my job and bring the joy of riding to kids around the world! Also announcing that I left Samsung at the end of last year. So proud of the amazing growth in sales, the return to profitability and the significant improvement in the user experience for our Webshop. I wish Samsung continued success and growth. California’s CYBHI Fee Schedule is creating real opportunity to fund mental health education and psychoeducation in school settings, and the National Center for Youth Law just published a helpful issue brief that breaks down the “how.” A few highlights for CA K-12 leaders: Psychoeducation is a covered CYBHI service category. The brief points to DHCS’s definition and how psychoeducation in schools can include skill-building like mindfulness, de-escalation, and emotional regulation. There are multiple reimbursable psychoeducation services, including group options. This can directly support mental health education expectations in CA. The brief connects CYBHI psychoeducation to Education Code requirements created by SB 224 for mental health instruction in middle and high school health education courses. Momentum is building statewide. As of March 2, 2026, more than 600 LEAs and IHEs have enrolled, reimbursements total $4.9M, and services have reached 22,363 students. Where districts often get stuck is not the “why.” It’s the operational lift: staffing, provider readiness, claims workflows, and coordinating with the statewide third-party administrator.
