Position Summary

The Director of Consortia & Strategic Partnerships plays a critical strategic role in strengthening and expanding the company’s positioning within the global luxury travel ecosystem.

This role is responsible for managing and optimizing relationships with key luxury travel consortia and strategic partners, ensuring maximum return on investment, brand alignment, and consistent execution across all agreed initiatives.

Given the growing importance of consortia-driven distribution, this position acts as a central orchestrator between strategy, budget allocation, execution, and internal stakeholders, while also serving as a knowledge partner on the cruise and expedition segment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consortia Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned consortia leadership, including (but not limited to): Virtuoso,Signature, Ensemble, Internova, Serandipians, Amex, Chase, and similar strategic networks
  • Maintain strong, senior-level relationships with consortia leadership and key stakeholders
  • Represent the company in consortia-related discussions, meetings, events, and strategic initiatives
  • Strategic Planning & Budget Governance
  • Submit to senior leadership for approval the annual consortia strategy and overall budget allocation
  • Propose structured annual and quarterly activity plans aligned with approved budgets
  • Ensure all initiatives are reviewed and approved by leadership prior to execution
  • Monitor budget utilization and ensure spend aligns with agreed priorities and expected outcomes
  • Works closely with Aman Global Sales to align consortia planning and strategies
  • Execution & Delivery Oversight
  • Own the execution of all approved consortia initiatives, ensuring delivery according to agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards
  • Coordinate activities internally to guarantee smooth co-op management including:
  • Scheduling and timeliness of relevant, and well-curated content
  • All marketing and sales materials are delivered well in advance of any activation
  • Deadlines are respected across all stakeholders
  • Actively track progress and follow up to ensure commitments are fully met
  • Manage budgeting and invoicing of co-op
  • Webinars, Trainings & Activations
  • Plan and coordinate webinars and virtual activations with consortia partners
  • Ensure scheduling, communication, and preparation allow senior leadership to actively participate and host sessions when required
  • Support the development of compelling content and narratives aligned with brand positioning
  • Independently host and lead webinars and virtual training sessions for consortia-affiliated agencies and agents outside of the selected Key National Accounts, ensuring consistent brand messaging, high-quality content, and meaningful engagement across the broader consortia network.
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking
  • Track performance of consortia initiatives against predefined objectives
  • Provide clear reporting on activities, outcomes, and key learnings
  • Offer strategic recommendations for optimization and future planning

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Business, Marketing, Hotel/Hospitality Management.
  • Minimum 7+ years of consortia sales experience at a luxury cruise line, travel or hospitality environment.
  • Proven track record of success in leisure sales within the travel/tourism industry.
  • A complete understanding of selling, forecasting and managing the consortia environment.
  • Highly motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard and extended work hours and to travel 25+ percent.

  • In-depth understanding of the Travel Trade and Consortia space.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills within the leisure travel segment.
  • Exemplary verbal, written and presentation skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and budget-management skills.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue and meet sales goals
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to operate in a Matrix environment.
