Orion Solutions Group is working with a non-asset based Domestic and International Transportation Broker. This provider is one of the oldest drayage brokers in North America. They are seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to lead their sales team, and drive growth through strategic initiatives for drayage and truckload brokerage.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute business growth strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify new opportunities through market research and industry trends.
  • Provide insights to support planning and decision-making.

Relationship & Partnership Management

  • Identify and pursue partnership opportunities to support growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to structure and implement agreements.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a results-driven team.
  • Set clear objectives and provide coaching and support.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment and successful execution.

Performance & Growth

  • Drive revenue or growth targets through strategic initiatives and relationship development.
  • Track performance metrics and refine approaches based on data and feedback.

Executive & Stakeholder Communication

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment with overall business priorities.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, forecasts, and strategic updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Leadership strengths in communication, negotiation, and analytics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of transportation/logistic sales experience, with 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or supply chain is preferred.
  • Deep experience in domestic truckload, import/export drayage, LTL, transloading.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and dynamics.
