Bemnet Meshesha, MSW’s Post

I will always appreciate Social Venture Partners Dallas! Lucky for you there is still room at their Dallas Spring Social, this Saturday, May 2nd. Join me here 👉🏾: https://lnkd.in/e5YtN3iZ I love this organization for many reasons-- Tony Fleo, Prisma Y. Garcia, Donovan Ervin and Seth Block being the primary ones-- if you know, you know. And the amazing friends I gained (and still keep up with) from being in the Dana Juett Residency in 2019--the best cohort if I do say so myself! The privilege of annually teaching their new residents about the the impact of "people movements and philanthropy", the time I served on the board, worked on meaningful projects as an SVP partner, or traveled to the Dominican Republic to see how they do good, better. SVP does cool and meaningful work to leverage social impact and reminds us of our responsibility to innovate philanthropy to meet real needs and to harness our power (and privilege) as givers to our families, local communities, and global world. Thank you Dr. Froswa' Booker for pushing me to do the residency and sponsoring my participation-- your touch continues to be endless in my life. I'm so happy to echo that another Dallas favorite has now taken the helm of leadership there- Catherine Cuellar, excited for you! +1

I had the opportunity to know and serve with Dana. His passion included an unwavering commitment to support communities in their efforts to facilitate changes improving the wellbeing of all. We lost an incredibly kind, compassionate, and committed man when he passed away. The Residency, established to celebrate his contribution to communities around the world, has lifted up the future community change makers by expanding their skills, galvanizing their purpose, and settling them into a community of likeminded peers. Bemnet— you are a great representative of his legacy !

Grateful to you for joining us and lending your expertise and wisdom!

Thanks for your service & leadership advancing social impact in our community, and I look forward to celebrating with you Saturday! 🌸 💗

I always have an event when SVP has an event. 😣 I’ll be in Austin coaching playoff lacrosse. 😅 But so grateful for this organization if it didn’t do anything else but make us friends. 🥹🤞🏾Bemnet Meshesha, MSW
