AWS just announced at LEAP in Riyadh: its first cloud infrastructure Region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will launch by December 2026. AWS and HUMAIN are also deepening their partnership to deliver up to 50 MW of capacity in Saudi Arabia's first AI Zone by 2028, including AWS Trainium chips and the latest NVIDIA AI infrastructure. With the new Region, developers, startups, and enterprises across Saudi Arabia can build and scale with cloud and AI tools while serving end users from data centers in the Kingdom. AWS is also investing in people. The Amazon Academy aims to train more than 100,000 Saudi citizens for digital careers, and the AWS Saudi Arabia Women's Skills Initiative will train up to 10,000 women at no charge. AWS and NVIDIA are expanding our long-standing collaboration to help customers scale AI workloads faster and more reliably than ever. We're planning to deploy 2 million additional NVIDIA GPUs across AWS global infrastructure and build AI factories for the U.S. Government with 100,000 GPUs on secure AWS infrastructure, a significant investment driven by customers choosing to run their production AI workloads on AWS. AWS VP and Distinguished Engineer Eric Brandwine sat down with Eric Avidon from TechTarget to discuss how AWS is approaching database security in the age of agentic AI. Eric explains that while agents don't create fundamentally new security problems, they are the best information retrieval technology humanity has ever had, which means organizations need to be more rigorous about access controls and credential scoping. "No agent should ever get a credential that wasn't explicitly issued to it. Making sure that the credentials issued to the agent are scoped to the activity that you've asked the agent to perform, and that the agent cannot get access to credentials, is incredibly important." "This is fine. All fine." This is the network after one router fails. In a traditional data center network, it's like an airport where every plane taxis through the same corridor. The more traffic, the more congestion builds up in one place. AWS built something different. It's called Resilient Network Graphs (RNG). A flat network where traffic spreads across hundreds of paths instead of funneling through a few. No single router carries a disproportionate load, so congestion doesn't pile up.
