Our comprehensive approach to ending animal cruelty

Pasado’s Safe Haven investigates animal cruelty and provides sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect. We advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal cruelty. Our programs help save the lives of thousands of animals each year and inspire people to reimagine their relationships with all beings.

Investigation & Rescue

We are dedicated to getting justice for animals. Pasado’s investigates and resources animal cruelty cases that include neglect, violent abuse, hoarding, and animal fighting. We work with legal experts, prosecutors, judges, and law enforcement to improve how the criminal justice system responds to crimes against animals.

Sanctuary

Pasado’s is home to approximately 200 animals, most of whom we rescued from horrific situations. Our 85-acre sanctuary provides animals with a safe space with fresh air, green pastures, expert medical care, and a team of caregivers who offer unconditional love.

Pet Services

Our spay/neuter clinics and pet food banks serve income-qualified families in our community. We have performed over 70,000 spay and neuter surgeries to prevent shelter overpopulation and unnecessary euthanasia. Our medical team is dedicated to helping lower the number of dogs and cats entering shelters and keeping animals at home with their loving families.

Education

From vegan cooking classes to summer camps and classroom presentations, we bring animal stories to life to encourage empathy and compassion. Our sanctuary tours and inspiring events draw hundreds of visitors each year to create moments of connection and understanding that all animals deserve love and protection.

LARGE-SCALE RESCUE INVOLVING 200 CATS

Our Investigations & Rescue team responded to a large-scale rescue involving around 200 cats. This was a hoarding situation at a single-family home.

CHEYENNE’S STORY: THROWN FROM A CAR

Cheyenne was thrown from a car on a backroad in Washington. By chance, a caring citizen happened to witness the incident and brought her to safety. She showed signs of neglect and needed medical care.

31 NEGLECTED ANIMALS NOW SAFE

On March 22, 2023, 19 cats and 3 dogs arrived at our sanctuary in very poor condition. Our team responded on-scene in central Washington to a hoarding and neglect case to bring these animals to safety.

40 DOGS RESCUED FROM OVERRUN BREEDER

Our Investigations & Rescue Team responded on-scene to a large rescue at an overrun breeding situation in eastern Washington state. We safely rescued 40 English Labradors.
