Krystal Nurse is an evening breaking news reporter for USA TODAY based in Michigan. She's a 2017 graduate of Saint Peter's University and was the 2022-23 National Press Foundation Widening the Pipeline fellow, along with 24 other journalists of color. She was also a 2023 finalist for the Livingston Award in local news reporting for leading the Lansing State Journal's 2022 coverage of federal boarding schools. Krystal has won awards and honorable mentions for her stories about rental units and housing projects in Lansing. She also loves corgis. A lot.
