Dr. Yashpal Yadav IAS on X: "My visit to the fields this morning and interaction with the young and energetic Patwaris, Kanungos, Naib Tehsildars and DROs was truly fruitful and result-oriented. I took detailed feedback on the new digital initiatives, particularly the Digital Crop Survey (DCS), and the difficulties being faced on the ground. I personally attempted the survey. While it is technically feasible, practical problems remain — water standing in the fields, tall standing crops, and the extremely hot and humid weather. Senior Revenue officers also visited the fields over the last two days and have submitted their feedback. On the basis of this interaction, we need to provide more capacity building initiatives/training. We will strengthen the GIS labs and DITS infrastructure in the districts with enough hardware to facilitate easy digital working to the Patwari and Local immediate digital help. Thereafter I interacted with the Government of India team. They informed that a separate app is available for geo-referencing and that DCS is not required for this purpose. Satellite crop survey is already part of DCS. We already have this satellite data, which can be used together with the information furnished by farmers on MFMB. DCS will therefore be carried out only in those fields where there is a mismatch between the satellite crop survey data and the MFMB entries. Even they clarified that only one picture of the crop is sufficient and three different pictures are not mandatory. The Revenue Department will submit this strategy to the Government of India on Monday."

is it not possible that farmers can do their own girdavari by geotagging and real time monetring ? That avoids mismatch. Mostly farmers/ children are educated carring smartphone. Difficult for single patwari to do many khasras but possible for individual even with 5M range🙏

Thank you,for being committed to resolving the issues faced by Patwaris in field during DCS. 🙏 Hon’ble Sir, I would also like to draw your kind attention to this practical issue faced by newly appointed Patwaris. Kindly consider it and take necessary action 🙏
