A Bengaluru professor's funny retort to man who disrupted her class has gone viral.
At Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru, an unusual incident unfolded when a man barged into a lecture with the intention of convincing students to join a collective class bunk. What he expected to be a persuasive stunt quickly turned into a humorous episode that left him embarrassed and the classroom in fits of laughter.

Influencer Attempts to Campaign for Mass Bunking

The visitor, later identified as content creator Shoaib, carried a petition urging support for what he described as the idea of “normalising mass bunking” in colleges. Entering the room with full confidence, he requested the faculty member present to endorse his initiative. Initially, the lecturer, Roopa, chose to listen and even allowed him to present his argument openly before her students. “How is it possible. I have to sign for you. You have to tell them, not me. I always tell my kids what you’re going to promote them, ask them I told them to bunk the class," she told him.

He emphasized that bunking together fostered unity among students and reduced academic stress caused by increasing expectations from teachers.

Teacher’s Clever Response Wins the Day

Instead of agreeing, Roopa calmly redirected the request back to the class. She suggested that if Shoaib truly wanted to advocate for absenteeism, he should gain approval from the students themselves, since she constantly advised her pupils to attend classes regularly. The influencer tried to continue promoting his cause by highlighting how free attendance would motivate students to bunk without consequence. One student, however, questioned him about the actual advantage of missing classes, noting that attendance requirements were the biggest obstacle to skipping lectures. Shoaib humorously suggested that teachers should simply mark them present, assuring everyone that his plan did not threaten official attendance records.

At one point, he insisted that students did not need discipline but rather indiscipline, believing that rule-breaking would bring them together. This prompted Roopa to deliver a sharp yet playful remark, stating that such situations illustrated the problems caused when men entered their campus. Her witty comeback left Shoaib speechless while her students burst into laughter.

    Internet Applauds Teacher’s Humor

The clip, shared on Instagram, spread rapidly and drew widespread attention. Viewers praised the teacher for her quick wit and light-hearted approach to handling the situation. Comments poured in admiring her sense of humor and composure. Some users noted that if they had such a teacher, they would never consider missing her class. Others summed up the exchange with playful lines such as “Roopa ma’am rocked, Shoaib shocked.”

Many admired her cool demeanor, with one remarking on how rare it is to have teachers who handle disruptions with such grace and humor. Another reflected that even when given permission to bunk, students often prefer attending because they value the classroom environment. What began as a prank ended up showcasing a teacher’s ability to turn an awkward interruption into a memorable, laughter-filled lesson.
