Demon Slayer Infinity Castle breaks records in India
The advance booking for Infinity Castle opened on September 5, and within just a few hours, theatres began to report sold-out or nearly full shows, especially for the Japanese 2D IMAX version. In response, multiplexes have added several early morning screenings across cities. The earliest show so far will be held at Inox Megaplex, Pune (5:15 am), followed closely by Cinepolis Seawoods, Navi Mumbai (5:20 am). Other early shows have been added in Bengaluru (6:30 am) and Delhi (6:40 am). The upcoming film adapts the intense Infinity Castle arc, a much-awaited storyline for fans of the manga and anime. It will be part of a trilogy, with the first part having already released in Japan on July 18. Given the franchise's global success and cultural impact, it's no surprise Indian fans are turning up in droves for early access.
For those new to the series or looking to catch up before the movie hits theatres, Netflix India currently offers all four seasons of the anime, as well as the critically acclaimed Mugen Train movie. The series began in 2019 and follows Tanjiro Kamado, a kind-hearted boy who becomes a Demon Slayer after his family is killed and his sister Nezuko is turned into a demon.
If you're wondering where to begin, here's the recommended watch order:
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 1
- Mugen Train (movie) or Season 2: Mugen Train Arc and Entertainment District Arc
- To the Swordsmith Village (movie) or Season 3: Swordsmith Village Arc
- Season 4: Hashira Training Arc
- Infinity Castle Trilogy (will be released on September 13 in India)
With all of the previous content easily accessible on Netflix, and the movie's theatrical release just around the corner, there's never been a better time to dive into the Demon Slayer universe, especially as it continues to break new ground in India. Stay tuned for more updates!
