Amith Khanna,head of franchise for India, the Middle East and Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said over 80% of IHG’s global portfolio is franchised and this has proven to be a beneficial model for both IHG and owners.

Hoteliers won't yet cancel expansion plans for this year
Kiran Andicot, regional vice-president of development for South Asia at Marriott International, said the chain expects to open 10-12 hotels with some 2,000 rooms in India this year.
Hotel companies put Covid blues behind them, to launch more properties
Zubin Saxena, managing director for South Asia at Radisson Hotel Group, said the chain opened three hotels last year and is on track to open about 15 new hotels this year. It has already launched new hotels in Bareilly, Imphal, Dharamshala, Visakhapatnam and Lonavala, and is set to add resorts in Goa, Puducherry and Pahalgam this year.
