    The highest spending of disposable income in India is on eating out and food, and restaurants and bars are the ultimate social hub, said Zorawar Kalra, founder and managing director of Massive Restaurants. “As per industry estimates, five years ago, Indians were eating out close to three times a month. Now it’s about eight times a month. Restaurants have realised that Indians love eating out and the younger lot wants to do it even more. They are okay with not buying a car, taking an Uber instead,” he said.

    Impresario has more than 60 outlets across 17 cities, with the Social and Smoke House Deli count standing at 35 and 11 outlets, respectively. "This year itself we're looking to add about 12 new outposts and enter Dehradun with both Social and Smoke House Deli," said Bhatt. "For Impresario as a whole, Social and Smoke House Deli, our two marquee brands, will be leading the charge in terms of business growth and geographic expansion."     The fresh capital will help fuel the further expansion of Impresario’s business, which also received an investment from L Catterton in 2017 and has since demonstrated resilient growth over the years despite facing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Eating out in plush restaurants may not pinch you more, just yet

    Riyaaz Amlani, chief executive of Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality that runs restaurant brands including Social, Saltwater Cafe, Slink & Bardot and Smokehouse Deli, said he is not considering hiking prices at his restaurant brands and will wait it out for a month.
