Over the past few years, I've spoken with hundreds of students who dream of becoming doctors. One question stays with me every admission season: "I've qualified NEET. If I don't get an MBBS seat this year, should I give up on my dream?" The answer should never be that simple. India has made significant progress in expanding medical education. More medical colleges have opened, MBBS seats have increased, and the healthcare ecosystem continues to evolve. These are important milestones. Yet, the demand for quality medical education continues to outpace the available opportunities. As someone working closely with students, I've learned that most of them are not looking for an easier path. They're simply looking for an opportunity. For some, that opportunity is in India. For others, it is through an NMC-compliant medical university abroad. But wherever they study, the responsibility remains the same—receiving quality education, gaining strong clinical exposure, and meeting India's licensing requirements before practising medicine. The conversation shouldn't be India vs. MBBS Abroad. It should be about creating more opportunities while maintaining the highest standards of medical education. Every deserving student should have the chance to pursue their dream. Every patient deserves a competent and compassionate doctor. As professionals in the healthcare and education ecosystem, our responsibility is not just to guide students toward admissions. It is to guide them toward informed decisions and successful careers. Because the future of healthcare depends not only on how many doctors we produce—but on how well we prepare them. I joined in 2022 as the first employee, when the lending business was little more than an idea on a whiteboard. What followed were some of the most challenging, rewarding, and defining years of my career. We built something real from scratch. There's a particular kind of magic in the early days of building: the uncertainty, the long hours, the small wins that feel enormous, and the problems no one has solved before because no one has been there yet. I got to experience all of it, building the business, the partnerships, and the systems, figuring things out as we went, growing the team, and learning what it really means to take ownership when there is no playbook. But what I'll carry with me most isn't just what we built. It's the people I got to build it with. To Gaurrav Arya and Nikhil Mudgal, thank you for the opportunity to build and scale. We started with a blank canvas, and you gave me the trust and freedom to run with it. That kind of belief is rare. I'm walking away a sharper operator and a better leader because of you both.
