Prateek Mehta shared thisAt South Park Commons, we are here with our capital, community and conviction, to support the most ambitious builders from India. Ambition is social and thrives alongside high talent density. The time is now, to build generational companies from India and to go after bigger, bolder problems. Was great chatting with Ritu Singh from CNBC-TV18 on what we are excited about, and our long-term vision. Prateek Mehta shared thisExcited to host Srinivas Narayanan at South Park Commons India for a Minus One chat! Srinivas was the CTO of B2B Applications at OpenAI, and before that he led Engineering for over a decade at Meta (formerly Facebook) - across Oculus, applied AI, and consumer. He is a real OG of what is now the edge of the frontier! A quest that started at IIT Madras, and is now at planet-scale. How does one person build at multiple frontiers? How do you build at that scale and at speed? What did the '-1' days look like in these rooms? This will be a real builders' chat. Apply to attend. We have limited slots. Link in comments.

Prateek Mehta shared thisAt SPC India, we are building a zone of excellence for researchers, technologists, founders, and operators who are trying to figure out what is truly worth building next. And we’re hiring for a Community Associate to help do exactly that. We’re looking for someone who wants to build with real care, high standards, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to make the room better for the people in it. If you’re deeply curious about people, energised by ambitious builders, and excited to build something meaningful in Bangalore, we’d love to hear from you. Please tag someone we should be speaking with. Application link in the comments.

Prateek Mehta shared this"We never thought of doing this as a startup. We were just techies building stuff because it felt like this should exist." Willing things into existence is how empires are born! Was great to have Harshil Mathur at South Park Commons India, talking about Razorpay's path from their early '-1' days, to being a household name! He spoke of delusional optimism, what makes company culture actually great (and what does not), and why it's ok to fail...but not come second! Full episode out now, link in comments.

Prateek Mehta shared thisA question we often get about building South Park Commons in India, is - why are we so excited about India? India does not have a shortage of ambition, ability or audacity. What we need, is capital, community and conviction - that is willing to show up early, and then stay the course! Last week, we announced SPC Fund IV. $575M for the most ambitious founders across San Francisco, New York and Bengaluru. The same conviction across all geographies. We have a core belief, that the map of where great frontier tech gets built, is getting wider. It will not be limited to places that have historically been given permission to build it! Many of those founders will start in India. At -1. And they are done waiting. We're here for them. Talked more about this along with Aditya Agarwal, in The Economic Times. And also on my blog post. Links below!

Prateek Mehta shared thisThe greatest ideas and people behind them, should never have dollars become the ceiling on their ambition. And the loneliest, most uncertain phase of building, is the one that determines how far your ambition reaches. The minus one. That is where you need the truest form of support, to reach your global maxima. That belief is why South Park Commons exists. It’s the bet we have made for a decade. And it's shown us what great ambition can lead to, when the right set of conditions are created early on! Today we're announcing Fund IV. $575M to keep supporting excellence early on, and to go further. We're here to support the most ambitious founders looking for their life's work. With everything we have. Conviction, from minus one to well beyond!Prateek Mehta shared thisToday we’re announcing SPC Fund IV: $575M to help founders find their life’s work. A decade of guiding founders through -1 to 0 brings South Park Commons to $2B in AUM and, more importantly, a 1200 member community of the world’s most talented technologists. We strongly believe that: → The person comes before the idea. At -1, generational founders are often busy reading, prototyping, discarding, and earning the right to their own conviction. → Ambition is social. The people you surround yourself with in the early days play a big part in inflecting your ambition. → Patience compounds. It is better to work on something you have deep conviction in rather than simply sprint at the first idea. The quiet months we protect at the beginning have produced three funds in the top 10% of their vintages, and companies like Baseten, Gamma, Render, Goodfire, Luma, and Profound. We are proud to have worked with all these founders in their -1 phase and beyond. While we defined -1 to 0, we're no longer bound by it. Fund IV allows us to partner with companies well beyond launch. We're doing this now because we've never seen a wider gap between what's possible and what's being attempted. Intelligence is abundant. The cost of trying ideas keeps falling, and problems that seemed insurmountable a few years ago are quickly becoming solvable. To our members, to the founders who trusted us before anyone else did, and to the LPs who had conviction in our own -1 journey: thank you. This milestone belongs to you as much as to us. To the builders looking to find your life’s work: let’s get started.

Prateek Mehta shared thisThis one's special. I still remember meeting Shreepoorna S Rao when he was talking about building planes that fly thousands of kms, uninterrupted. He had just graduated. My honest first thought was, 'is this guy for real?' Turns out, he is the the kind of guy who turns sci-fi into reality, by sheer force of will and intellect! Shree and his team at Arctus Aerospace, are what our future looks like. And I am proud that he chose South Park Commons, from day minus one. A few weeks back Aditya Agarwal and I, caught up with the team, on what they have been cooking! You can watch the full chat on YT. Link in comments.

Prateek Mehta shared thisGreatness doesn't need permission. But it does require the right conditions to thrive, and the right partners for a long journey. Choose the maximally ambitious idea, and the maximally conducive environment. South Park Commons Founder Fellowship applications close Aug 2. Apply: https://lnkd.in/g835N4RH

Prateek Mehta shared thisThe best builders keep choosing the beginner’s seat. They move fast, break stuff and are not afraid of going after what is scary! That’s the thread that ran through my conversation with Julie Zhuo, ex-VP of Product Design at Facebook, author of The Making of a Manager, now building Sundial! We talked about design taste, the leap from making to managing to founding, and what it takes to start again from −1. This was an honest look at building things people love! Grateful to Julie for the generosity and candour You can watch the full fireside chat on YouTube. Link in comments.

Prateek Mehta liked thisPrateek Mehta liked thisSome of the best things we’ve built at Slay Media started without a client brief. Slay Station by Slay Media is one of them. It’s our independently produced podcast IP. We've built, conceptualised, and executed entirely in-house. And today was a particularly fun one. 🎙️ We recorded an episode with DHEEMANTH Reddy, Founder of Maya Research, backed by South Park Commons. We spoke about AI, building from India, research, entrepreneurship, and what it really looks like to build in a space that changes almost every day. But beyond the conversation, days like today remind me why we started Slay Station in the first place. As an agency, we spend so much of our time building brands and IPs for other people. I wanted us to have a playground of our own: somewhere we could experiment with conversations, formats, sets, storytelling and ideas without waiting for a brief. Slay Station is becoming exactly that. And yes, we take the name quite literally. 😛 Every episode is a new “station”, a new conversation and hopefully, a new perspective. This one was incredibly fun to shoot. DHEEMANTH Reddy, thank you for stopping by Slay Station. 🚉 Episode coming soon. #SlayStation #SlayMedia #Podcast #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Startups #Entrepreneurship #Founders #ContentMarketing #BuildingInIndia

Prateek Mehta liked thisPrateek Mehta liked thisToday, Maya 2 Native Voice gets an upgrade. It moves Indian voice AI beyond customer care and into entirely new consumer experiences. Maya 2 is ranked #1 on the Voice of India leaderboard and is built for the way India actually speaks. This release supports 11 major Indian languages: Hindi (हिन्दी), Telugu (తెలుగు), Bengali (বাংলা), Gujarati (ગુજરાતી), Kannada (ಕನ್ನಡ), Malayalam (മലയാളം), Marathi (मराठी), Odia (ଓଡ଼ିଆ), Punjabi (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ), Tamil (தமிழ்), and Indian English. For too long, voice AI has been designed mostly for customer support. Useful, but rarely something you would want to spend time with. Maya 2 Native Voice is built for more. Voices that carry character. Voices with rhythm, warmth, and expression. Voices that make entirely new consumer products and creative applications possible. Our goal is simple: speech that retains identity, rhythm, and emotional texture across languages. Maya 2 Native Voice brings us closer to expressive, low-latency, production-ready speech for India. Prateek Mehta liked thisIt's been so gratifying to have had front row seats to our 12 year old's swimming journey. Yuvika represented Haryana at Open Nationals, gave her personal best at the Prelims - to qualify to the Finals. That's top 8 in the country. We were not expecting this... but, she cut her previous time by 2 secs in a few weeks. Finally came in Rank #7 across India!! Saurabh & I are incredibly proud of her phenomenal start at the Nationals! Thank you Pathways School Gurgaon for the recognition :) & Thanks to various friends & family for tuning in to see this unfold live and for cheering from all corners of the globe! #pathwaysschoolgurgaon #pathpride #nationaldebutPrateek Mehta liked thisWhat an incredibly proud moment! After qualifying through the highly competitive Haryana trials with 300+ swimmers, Yuvika went on to compete among the country’s top 40 swimmers in Jaipur. She made the Top 8 Finals and finished 7th in India, improving her timing yet again under immense pressure. Her focus, determination and ability to hold her nerves were truly remarkable. Watching her walk in wearing the Haryana jersey, smiling as the stadium cheered, was a moment we’ll always cherish. Congratulations, Yuvika! This is just the beginning! #pathpride #studentachievement #nationaldebut #pathwaysschoolgurgaon

Prateek Mehta liked thisPrateek Mehta liked thisWe just published the second benchmark in our series exploring a simple question: can coding agents do accounting? The answer is yes, but general-purpose coding agents can be a tad expensive. We tested seven systems on the same 60 proof-of-delivery cases. Our medium-cost workflow was slightly more accurate than the best coding agent and is 36 times cheaper! Cadel.ai's advantage comes from intentional workflow engineering: using models where judgement is needed, deterministic code where it is not, and focused calls that avoid repeatedly processing the same context. This is what we mean by Orchestrating Intelligence, an idea I wrote about almost three months ago. These results are a concrete sign that the approach is paying off. We are evaluating Cadel.ai along a lot more dimensions and we will share more soon. Take a look and tell us what you think. I would especially like to hear from people building production finance workflows. DMs are open. https://lnkd.in/gHhZQqwW #AIinAccounting #AccountingAutomation #AccountsPayable #AIAgents #EnterpriseAI

Dr. Deb Houry, MD, MPH says it can't notice the exception that breaks the pattern, or read a patient through intuition, emotion, and gut instinct, the thing she calls a clinician's spidey sense. That's her case for why AI won't replace doctors. Full episode of Neural Compass live this Wednesday. #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareInnovation #NeuralCompass #JiminiHealth

Prateek Mehta liked thisPrateek Mehta liked thisFirst Failed Attempt at 3:00:00 🕒 It’s been about a week since I raced the Santa Rosa Marathon. It wasn’t the result I trained for. But then again, when has it ever really been just about the result? 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤: “Without commitment, you'll never start, but without consistency, you'll never finish.” That was the mantra for a 3-month, ~600 mile training block; early mornings, late nights, new paces, speed, discomfort, and trying to balance everything else. 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲: I came in ready to chase. The first 18 miles felt exactly like what I had trained for ~6:55/mile, steady and in flow. Then my left quad muscle blew up. Just like that, the race I had imagined changed. Through that pain of not being able to achieve what I had trained for, I had to find it in me to shift the focus to adapting and finding a way forward. 1st Half: 1:30 | 2nd Half: 1:44 | Finish: 3:14 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲: I have been spending time recovering and will continue to do so over a few weeks, and, admittedly, about 24 hours feeling sorry for myself and replaying every “what if.” I’ve cried it out. And now, it’s back to the drawing board. Back to the process. The best part of this process is and will remain my running crew- training, sipping coffee and carb-loading together! The list goes on... But it’s also about discovering new things about yourself when things don’t go according to plan - when you’re forced to let go of control and simply keep moving forward. Shoutout to Zee Jenkins for coaching me through this training block, and to my wife, Diksha Sahni, for supporting me through all the long hours away from home. #endurancesport #marathon #stickwiththeprocess #running

It was a pleasure to join The Economic Times to discuss Atomic Capital's ₹400 Cr+ maiden fund closure and our vision as an Operating VC to transform India’s consumer tech landscape. In this conversation, I shared perspectives on India's start-up ecosystem: 1. India's consumer outlook: India is a consumption-driven economy, and it will only grow further, driven by a rising middle class. We are seeing significant contributions to growth from Tier-2/3 cities within our portfolio, and we believe this momentum will remain strong. 2. Consumer and Consumer Tech focus: With ₹10–30 Cr cheques for a curated 10–12 start-up portfolio, we are backing consumer brands, consumer tech companies, and consumer enablers reshaping India’s $2T consumer market. 3. Operating VC playbook: Unlike traditional VCs, we act as operational partners—driving value through hands-on support in strategy, hiring, and scaling, while minimizing risks and maximizing impact. We work with founders—who usually possess strong product expertise and supply-side intuition—to interpret demand-side signals and unlock scale. 4. Capital efficiency: We partner with founders to maintain capital efficiency while growing topline, enabling sustainable, long-lasting businesses rather than a race for fundraising. 5. Criteria for funding: For us, investing is a professional marriage, and the founders and their team are most important—alongside capital efficiency and revenue momentum. 6. Advice to founders: Prioritize proactive organization building and capital efficiency. A ruthless focus on unit economics and execution ensures sustainable scaling beyond initial product-market fit. Ideas are only 1% of success; execution is 99%. Atomic Capital Nikhil Patil Manish Jain

Spot on. The era of "growth at all costs" in EdTech is officially over. We watched billions pour into massive customer acquisition engines that didn’t actually solve underlying educational problems—they just digitized the same broken, one-size-fits-all systems. The companies surviving this consolidation phase are the ones with intense operating discipline, a clear path to profitability, and a relentless focus on solving deep, specific pain points for families. At Schoolio, we've intentionally avoided the hype-cycle valuation game to focus entirely on building a sustainable, durable business that actually serves neurodivergent learners. As you noted: capital raised is just a metric of debt, not success. Operating margins and real impact are what actually sustain enterprise value.
