Ford to recall over 20,000 F-150 trucks in Canada over axle bolts defect; here’s why it’s a serious issue for customers

Synopsis
Ford is recalling approximately 22,664 F-150 trucks in Canada due to faulty axle hub bolts, potentially causing power loss to the wheels and increasing crash risk. The recall affects 2023-2025 models with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package and expands a previous recall addressing the same issue in earlier models.
The Ford F-150 Lightning electric trucks were also recalled over steering wheel control concerns in May 2025, which impacted 11,409 vehicles in Canada. Transport Canada stated that the American automaker will notify affected owners by mail and advise them to bring their vehicle to a dealership to have the rear axle shafts replaced.
Earlier in August, Ford Motor Company recalled more than 300,000 vehicles due to a defect that can increase the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The American automaker recalled some US vehicles, as an unexpected loss of power brake assist while driving can extend stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash, news agency Reuters reported.
