Which of those three places would be the preferential place to hang out for two weeks ? I was thinking about Cairo, solely because its would be hotter than the other two . Would Athens or Istanbul be a better choice ?

Fingers crossed,12 Months from now Covid-19 has been assigned to the history books and we can travel again. What do you do? You are given £25,000 and a plane ticket to anywhere in the world, but you have to leave tonight

I'm not complaining because Thailand has such a varied landscape and we can go on domestic holidays. But would like to visit my parents. I'm thinking (hoping) end of year. I hope you're all more optimistic than me!

So , I have been browsing cheap car rentals in U.K. for a 3 week trip I have booked for August. As the flights are twice the price of my last booking in December 2019 I expected a similar price hike . But, seems like car rentals have increased 5 fold !! , or am I missing something ?? Anyone noticed similar ??

Australians. If you're not aware Thai Airways has a sale for today (11.11) for flights from SYD to BKK – as low as $833 return. That's an impressive price drop compared to QANTAS $1311 return (average price).

Australians living overseas could be "trapped" in Australia if they return. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-58110308 Still, they should be used to that as being kept prisoners is in their genes after all ??

For those of you who like to impress others with your wealth, and we know there are a few of you, then this should be just up your street. Well up your street not quite but up there somewhere https://www.bbc.com/news/business-58120009

Anyone here travelled to pain? I am planning a trip with my fiance in September. Can someone recommend me some romantic places to visit? I know about the most common places, though.

An interesting factoid just popped up. THAI is selling seats FRA-HKT on a A350-900 but they've been flying a B777-300ER, a larger plane (by about 50 seats), since 24 September. Any clues as to why that might be? Is the 777 more economical to operate? It doesn't look like passenger numbers going up is the reason.

Hi all, new to the forum. Hailing from the land of ice and snow. Myself and the (soon to be) Missus have been waiting for and planning a Thailand trip for some time now. Obviously a wrench was thrown into those plans. But we were excited to hear about the potential of the sandbox re-opening. Phuket and Hua Hin are high on the list to visit. Especially Hua Hin, as we'd like to see if its a place we might want to spend some retirement years in one day. I understand most of the re-entry details, and how there is no transit allowed through BKK to Phuket. Not planning to go until probably January so obviously a lot could change between now and then. But if not that w…

Unfortunately when the Phuket sandbox comes into operation there wont be many people coming from Australia as we are not allowed to you to leave the country. Also if the bars are not open its not going to be much of an incentive for people to come and enjoy themselves. What are your thoughts please? A fantastic channel by the way I watch it every day and thank you for what you do.

Hi all It seems you can only bring in 1 litre of alcohol when entering Thailand. But I haven't been able to figure out if it is just strictly illegal or if it is possible to pay some import duty free in the customs if you bring more than 1 litre. And how much would it be? Anyone knows how that works? I was thinking to bring a couple of bottles of wine on my next visit, and just found out you can't bring more than one. Good thing I didn't know about that when i last came for hotel quarantine that would have been some long dry days!

I've been itching to get back to see family on the west coast (San Francisco and Seattle) and have been watching EVA for some time. Round trip BKK to SFO has held steady at a little more than twice what it used to cost pre-Covid. For grins and giggles, I searched Japan Airline, and their prices are lower than EVA before Covid. Both comparisons based on round trip business class in early December, midweek departing and returning. Any ideas why such a lower price? How about quality of JAL vs EVA?

As an expat is it possible to get travel insurance? lost baggage, cancelled flights etc etc I got insurance through my bank in the UK and whenever I went skiing etc I would get a private travel insurance for my possessions. Just wondering if any companies or banks here offer it?

Can anyone tell me how to get a PLF form filled in for travel from Bangkok to Scotland? Is it the same requirements as for England? Thanks.

Taiwan is now closed to transit until (at least) October 31. If you're thinking about China Airlines or EVA might want to look for a Plan B.

First time for this. I am going to fly back to the US, and don't know when I will be coming back to Thailand due to family reasons. We have adopted a young Tonkinese cat that we have grown to love like our kid. We have decided that we must take her with us, since this US visit maybe months or even a year. Have anyone here have experience with pet travel in cabin? or even as check-in baggage? Travel time is approximately 22 hours including 10 hours layover in an airport. I am not looking forward to this. I have read all the requirements for importing cat into the US.

By David Shepardson and Andrea Shalal WASHINGTON, Sept 20 (Reuters) - The United States will reopen in November to air travelers from 33 countries including China, India, Brazil and most of Europe who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the White House said on Monday, easing tough pandemic-related restrictions that started early last year. The decision, announced by White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeff Zients, marked an abrupt shift for President Joe Biden's administration, which said last week it was not the right time to lift any restrictions amid rising COVID-19 cases. The United States had lagged many other countries in lifting such rest…
