Snaps here. Latest news. Solar system #2 had a problem. The stout timber (not so stout in the sun as it turned out) deteriorated and broke, causing the weight of the down-pipe, plus water, to break the joint. Also the cable was broken at the joint, that me and Mildred put in 12 months ago, in order to drop the pump 6 metres. The breaking of the pipe also showed that the rope, that was about 50% suspending the pipe-work and pump, was not doing it's job adequately. First job was to lift up the whole unit to get to the broken cable that had fallen down the well.. Started at 10-30 and it took just two hours to sort out. We decided to replace the bamboo rods with metal ones. All three of us fixed up the PVC joint OK. Put in a 'T' junction instead of the old elbow. Then me and Mildred got to work sorting out the cables. Disconnected the panel juice. Removed the face of the control box. Mildred sorted the wiring. Kun looked after the protective tubes, My job was to record the repair. Kun tied up the cables to relieve stress. Job done. Tomorrow - Saturday - we have to do another repair on solar #3. A simple task on the face of it. We will see. Gonna start at 10 before the heat sets in. +++++ World still in turmoil. Ceasefire number 7 gonna happen in West Asia? The Don says 'job done, objectives achieved'. No idea about the Russia v NATO conflict. Not too much news on that. +++++ Can't recall an Easter Week End without EPL footy. Well done Saints anyway. So the semi line up is City v Blues. Saints v Percocks. Jam Tarts still top in SPL. Just!! Fingers Xed for them as they enter the last phase. +++++ The eye, although not improving, is not getting any worse. Not so good when the pain sets in though. Taken to dropping an Ibrufen. Just get on with life. +++++ Wow! Is it hot, or is it hot. Got to 43C on Wednesday. Bought two new big 18inch fans. One for Mrs Snaps and one for the cats and dogs. +++++ Mildred just got sent her scores from end of year exams. Overall; 82%. Best being English; 95%. Her not so good subjects were Thai History and Geography. Her friend, Ice, who she sits next to at school, also scored well. Very similar. Those two; top of the pops. +++++ Cut nuts all last week. Three long trips - 72km a trip - to the wholesaler the other side of Ban Dung. And three local trips; each just a couple of km. 6 trips for a total of 4.325kg. Average price of nuts 6.9 Baht a kilo. Coming back from the last trip filled the Mazza up with juice; 1350 Baht for 26 litres. That's 52 Baht a litre. And that's cheap, but not the cheapest. Saw one place 50.99,,,, and one at 68 Baht a litre. Most stations closed. gonna get worse. Much worse. +++++ That's it folks. Only one thing left to say; take care out there.

Hi all. Snaps here with the latest happenings up in the Isaan Boonies. Fixed up solar #3 last week. Not much to do but it had to be done to stop future problem. So, what was wrong? The very tough strapping that held up the pump, PVC pipes and cables had all but disintegrated in the sun over the pervious 15 month. If it had completely given up the ghost then all the weight would have been on the pipes themselves. I bought the strapping with a load rating of 250 kg, and with virtually no stretch. Had to cut the PVC pipes, lift up the whole thing about a metre and basically tie a new rope to the old. Easy enough. Quick words those. Wrong way round Kun. That's better. Robert came to help. All done. Time to leave. Try not to get stuck in the mud on the way out of the plantation. A new house being build just two farms down. Looks quite small to me. It's that time of year. Yes!! It's mango time. The tree next to solar #4 is doing great. Yum yum. We normally give away bucket loads. In the end you get fed up with having them every meal. +++++ Are Spurs doomed? They could well be. Replaced by The Lions. We will never hear the end of it in Saff London. South-coasters Cherries and Seagulls hitting form at just the right time. Have The Gunners about to lose top spot? The Championship is fascinating this season. For months, it looked like Sky Blues and Boro had auto promotion sewn up. Now it's already up Sky Blues, and either Lions or Tractors along with form boys Saints and Red Dragons no push overs. +++++ Both Lukes- Littler and Humphries (world 1 @ 2) - absent from the recent European Grand Prix held in Germany. Event won by Welshman Gerwin Price. +++++ The killer dogs came round and run riot. Killing 4 beautiful white ducks. All quiet for a few days, then they came again. Killing three more. Two left. Then there was one. Then there was none. I feel terribly guilty. Wanted to give these lovely creatures a good life and it all went horribly wrong for them. So what to do? Well! Both me and Kun have some plans. I left it to him. Pics next post. +++++ Mildred is more than halfway through her holiday, and there are still things I've not yet got started. Not yet had a game of chess. Not yet had a game of darts. One important thing is to get her to Phen to take her m/c test. The other is to renew her English PP. Must get myself sorted. +++++ Went to a Government Clinic last Friday for the eye. Come out with the predictable tablets and eye drops. Had a couple of terrible nights recently. Didn't get to sleep til gone 6 this morning, when Mrs Snaps came back from her mums. +++++ Within the next week, in London, we have the PM vs the Rent Boys trial starting. I'll be watching and reading with great interest. Wonder if Petee and Sir Kier shared a rent boy or two. Would explain a lot that. +++++ Bloody hot all right. Only two meaningful drops of rain since October. Last year was on the wet side. Are we gonna actually get a wet season? Climate change?! +++++ Take care out there folks. Seez yer all soon.

You really need to see an ophthalmologist and stop ignoring the issue. I know two who ignored an issue that started in one eye, then eventually lost sight in both. One of whom was a local expat and after loosing his sight simply lay on his bed all day refusing to eat and eventually passed away. His death was recorded as suicide. Close your eyes for 10 minutes and try to go about your normal activities.

Snaps latest. The new ducks are simply fantastic. They were a bit shy at first, but given that they have never had a whole pond to themselves before that was expected. Seem extremely happy. Old dwelling. Brought over a big net for the transfer. Soon had them in the net. Off to the farm with them. Me and Kun carried them round to number 6 pond. And they were only too pleased to be let go. A bit shocked. perhaps. that people care about their welfare. There they go. Having a swim abut. Getting used to their new home. Nine new ducks. 2 males, 7 females. Look forward to some eggs later this year. Could get some more before too long. Mrs Snaps says enough already. Mildred says 50 tops. I say 100. Take care out there folks. More to follow.

Good question and yes, any member can post a Bangkok Post article to the TT News sub Forum and start a new topic. https://thaigertalk.com/forum/79-tt-news-current-affairs/ It won‘t be done by Thaiger staff, only from member engagement, but it‘s an option. TT will continue to exist as long as it‘s not draining time and resources. The forum is on life support, I’m the first to admit it. I don’t think there is any appetite to invest in its expansion anymore in the current level of engagement. Any growth from this low point needs to come organically.

Snaps musings for 12th April 2026 Spoke last post about the nut cut. Just got the pics sorted. The Mazza to the right. This is the least busy of the two big wholesalers. Not that it's slow. Vehicles coming in one after the other. The most amount of nuts I've seen here. At a guess I'd say 500 tonnes. They will all be shipped off to the factory near Khon Kaen. Plenty of cassava. The nearest cassava factory is at Ku Chup. About 20 km west of Udon. That's it; all done. The factory, and the wholesalers, are now closed for the Songran holiday. All open again on the 18th of this month. Next cut, for us at the farm, is at the very end of the month. Maybe first week of next month. If there is still no peace in the Middle East, nut prices could go even higher than the 7 baht they are at the mo. +++++ Well done Cherries. But Gunners still very much on the driving seat. The EPL is theirs to lose. Good point at Sky Blues for the Owls. Getting prepared for next season. Get rid of the dead wood. Relegation form for Boro. They have dropped right off. Saints make it 5 wins on the spin. And an FA semi. Tractors look good in 2nd spot. +++++ Last day of the Bilderbergs today. Come early this year. Notice that MI6 boss, Blaise Metreweli, is there. All very hush hush. No minutes or reporting. Not broadcast on the BBC or CNN. Wonder what's big on the agenda? We will find out soon enough I reckon. +++++ It's that time of year. Venture out at yer peril. Mildred just came in soaked. And she only walked 40 metres. +++++ Fixed the solar #3 yesterday. Post pics later. +++++ Some wind about. Has cooled down quite a bit since last Tues/Wed/Thurs. No sign of any rain coming our way. +++++ Only one thing left to say; take care out there.

It's all true Owl. I don't like to bother the white-coats. Never trusted them. Especially after the 'safe n effective' era. Be they dentists, doctors or opticians. Nature has what we need to get on with life. As for pulling yer own teeth. Easy peasy, lemon queezy. The method was posted some time back. Pulled me first one in Spain about 30 years ago. Not looked back since. I ask you Owl; you are in the dentists' Waiting Room, and the dentist comes to the door and says- who's next - and you see she has blood splattered over her white coat. Any sane person would make a dash for the exit. Oh yes! The hat lady. She was everything a man could wish for. But there is another lady that is far more important to me. Yes Mildred! So the Hat Lady remains just a 'what might have been' fantasy. Still think of her at certain times though. Beatings from the wife. Not had a whack for a month. Last time it was a broom handle. Mrs Snaps said she was trying to whack Fixie, the cat, who was laying across my chest, but my protective arms got in the way. One of the blows hit my left thumb. The thumb that was damaged because of a stray bullet, when I was serving in the UK Special Forces. So a sharp whack with a bamboo rod did it no favours at all. Just about healed now, so no lasting pobs.

That's exactly what he said, until he started losing sight in his other good eye. By the time he sought medical attention he was told it was too late, he should have come much sooner. You're wrong - democracy is the violence of the majority against the minority. Because any state power is violence. Unfortunately, the main question is whose interests are at stake. Therefore, the absence of violence is the absence of a state and the presence of direct, absolute democracy.

Iran published some photos and video of their Revolutionary Guard Forces seizing a ship. Their Forces wore full face balaclavas . Terrorists wear such masks, regular troops do not. I was actually a signed up Member on TV/AN for a few for information purposes only I never actually posted though my first and last post was in reply to one off The Mods (Darksidedog or Onthedsrkside) something like that making a post praising Al Quada to try and get a rise outta an American Trump Supporter. I replied to the guys remark very diplomatically that it was an insult to the decent Forum Members and a criminal offence in many Countries to support a proscribed Terrorist organisation. And I was banned indefinitely it convinced me that the Moderators on TV only catered to one small percentage of Posters. I will give Thaiger Forum credit where credit is due we can still exchange views in a professional matter (with a sense of humour).

There are probably three possibilities going forward. Continue on as is. @Pinetree is right, the participation has dwindled to a handful of members talking to and at each other. And you're right, too. It's a baseline of people who feel comfortable communicating in a free speech environment. A base of very good contributors, but a very small base. I don't see much potential for adding to the numbers among 'new people' interested in Thailand. Merge with AN or create a sub-forum on the AN platform. This is not a great outcome either, because it takes away one of TT's main attractions, i.e. the relative freedom of expression it allows. End it. That's up the owners, but I haven't heard anything at this stage. In 2020 and 2021, this forum was exploding, with a large member base and multiple active discussions. There was a point when it looked on course to rival AN, but then a few things happened. The wide range of views upset some people who left voluntarily, then the moderation of such views caused a different subset of members to leave (voluntarily or otherwise) and now here we are with a 'base'. What's TT's base? "Thick-skinned, engaging individuals with a shared connection to Thailand who do not wish to be treated like children". Unfortunately, as anyone reading this would know, these four traits are very rare to find in one person. And that's where we are.

Based on search results, there is no credible, current organization found associated with the exact domain nsaparty.org. Historical neo-Nazi groups, such as the National Socialist Party of America (NSPA), were active decades ago. Current white supremacist groups, like the National Socialist Movement, have different platforms. Caution is advised, as sites promoting extremist ideologies are often illegitimate or unreliable sources of information. Wikipedia

I do think that the light to no real moderation is the attraction factor for me and it is certainly the main reason that I participate. It has always been 'light entertainment' for me, not a real source of serious debate, or to consider differing opinions. I'm too old in the tooth to change my basic philosophies, however much it may upset others that I don't know and will never meet. I gave up on AN a long time ago due to its overly aggressive moderation policy, I would not like to see it on TT.

These were high profile French hostages in Iran since 2022. According to the official story disseminated in the French press, they were just tourists but the Iranian regime arrested them arbitrarily and accused them of being spies. They have just been set free and have come back to France. I am sure Macron gave the Iranians a lot of taxpayer money for their release, but still, it's good that they are free, I think they are slightly naive leftists and they certainly didn't deserve such a harsh treatment for all these years.

Thanks Owl. I have a thing about ducks. I reckon it stems from years ago when I first started fishing. Most anglers would shoo the ducks, swans, coots and moorhens away, but I would go out of my way to take a bit of grub for them. Even sometimes buying a loaf on my way to the pond for them. The ducks got to know the kind anglers and would come and sit quite close to them. There was one swan in particular at Chase #2 in Dagenham. He would come over straight away, even before I'd cast a line. He could be quite intimidating to anglers he didn't like. But always OK with me. Hainault was a little different. There were hundreds of waterfowl, so couldn't feed them all. If they though you had some food they would charge over mob handed, and knock everything all over the place. We did keep ducks as pets in our house in Essex. Let them go free in Parsloes Park when they got older. Funny story that was. Any thoughts I had about getting more have to be shelved for now. .

I see Thai motorbike riders, riding the wrong way down roads at least 20 times every single day, sometimes many more than 20. They even do it at night with no lights. The leader of the Israeli opposition Yair Lapid harshly criticised Netanyahu, accusing him of failing to secure Israel’s demands as part of the ceasefire. “There has never been such a diplomatic disaster in all our history,” he said in a post on X, stating that “Israel wasn’t even at the table when decisions were made concerning the core of our national security.” ... Speaking on Euronews’ interview programme 12 Minutes With earlier in March, Lapid admitted that the US president cannot be persuaded or “pushed” into any decision, even by Israel. “Does Donald Trump strike you as someone who can be pushed around? I don't think so," Lapid told Euronews ... Avigdor Liberman, head of the Yisrael Beytenu party, warned that “a ceasefire with Iran gives the ayatollahs’ regime a break and time to regroup.” “Any agreement with Iran, without giving up on destroying Israel, enriching uranium, manufacturing ballistic missiles and supporting terror groups in the region, means we’ll return to another war in harder conditions with a heavier price,” Liberman wrote on X. https://www.euronews.com/2026/04/08/israels-political-forces-are-not-happy-with-us-iran-ceasefire-deal-here-is-why It's clear the left and right in Israel are none too happy. To be fair, the US and Israel objectives have never completely overlapped, there was always a larger difference than what was seen by the media. The Israelis want Iran to publicly disavow enriching uranium, while the Americans are more than happy with the destruction of the facilities, death of most of the scientists, and handing over of the existing uranium. Operationally there is little difference, but the American method allows the Iranians to save face during the process of trying to nail down a peace agreement. The Israelis would rather just keep killing Iranians in the hopes the objective is fulfilled. Same with the desire to build intercontinental ballistic missiles. The Israelis want Iran to publicly disavow the program. The Americans are happy with the knowledge Iran is likely to no longer purse the objective since they will no longer have nukes to put on top of them. One thing is clear at this point ... the theory Israel is/was dictating to the US is and always was absurd.

I would love to see how you, and some other mindless members on here, would react to being bombed and your kids slaughtered and raped by terrorists. I bet you would be shouting blue murder and seeking every kind of revenge. Or maybe you and your mates would just hide under the table, hold your hands over your ears and weep tears of anguish and terror until you surrendered your freedom and your country to the terrorist. You have the luxury of your views, and presumably free from the fear of daily terrorist attack, ignorant and unformed though they are. The Israeli's have no such options open to them. This is all due to your inattention. At the very beginning of the discussion, I wrote that Hamas committed a crime. But to respond to this by committing a crime 100 times overis not normal, as my opponent is trying to convince me. You know very well that Hamas is largely a creation of Israel, and blaming Palestinians, much less killing them, for being captured by Hamas is hypocrisy squared. Despite my opponent's erroneous claims, it is the monstrous existence of the Palestinians that defines their consciousness. And these massacres by Israel were undoubtedly not an act of war, but an act of revenge, and will only intensify radical manifestations in Palestine in the future. And next time, we will see an even greater number of victims on both sides. and you are wrong, materialism does not deny of the self, so my of the self exists and is indignant about the murders committed by all sides. The solution is to stop believing in fairy tales and get rid of those who send us to kill Israeli, Palestinian, Iranian, American, and all other children, citing the need to protect "religion, honor, great history, an exceptional nation, historical lands, freedom," and other metaphysical and metamoral nonsense.
