Andrea Heuston reposted thisAndrea Heuston reposted thisIn the race to automate everything, the distinctly human work of leadership matters more than ever. Andrea Heuston, CEO & Founder of Artitudes, reminds us why that distinction matters more than ever. Here's what she shared about ICONIC Leadership ⬇️ "AI may democratize technology, but it cannot replace the deeply human work of leadership. ICONIC Leadership offers a timely, practical framework for building trust, navigating disruption, and creting meaningful impact in an AI-driven world." Her words get at exactly what ICONIC Leadership is built on: trust, not automation, is what carreis leaders and the people they lead through disruption. 📖Build the kind of leadership AI can't replace. Andrea Heuston shared this📖 FEARLESS Featured Author: Pamela Isom Some women don’t just prepare for critical moments. They teach others how to rise inside them. Pamela Isom, SBE, WBE is the Founder, President and CEO of ICE Safety Solutions, a nationally recognized safety training, consulting, and emergency preparedness company she founded in 1999 with a simple mission: We empower ordinary people to do extraordinary things during life’s most critical moments. That mission says so much about Pamela. A former pharmaceutical researcher and NCAA All-American in track and cross country, Pamela has spent more than 27 years helping people and organizations prepare for the unexpected. Under her leadership, ICE Safety Solutions has trained hundreds of thousands of people and partnered with some of the world’s most recognized organizations across technology, professional sports, healthcare, utilities, education, government, and commercial real estate. She is also an innovator in life-saving education. Pamela pioneered one of the nation’s first Virtual Reality CPR training experiences, changing how organizations prepare employees to respond when every second matters. But what I love most about Pamela’s story is the philosophy behind her work: Every No Is a New Opportunity™. From adoption to NCAA All-American to CEO, Pamela’s journey is one of rejection, resilience, reinvention, and courage. She reminds us that fearlessness is not the absence of fear. It is choosing to move forward while fear is still sitting beside you. Whether she is teaching CPR, advising executive leaders, mentoring business owners, or spending time with her husband of 31 years and their two daughters, Pamela lives what she teaches: the greatest opportunities in life often begin with the word “No.” I am so honored to have Pamela Isom as one of our featured authors in Lead Like a Woman: FEARLESS - publishing in October! Please join me in celebrating Pam!

Andrea Heuston shared thisGood communicators lose the room all the time. Not because they lack expertise or preparation, but because communication looks very different from the audience’s side of the room. I see three patterns again and again: 1️⃣ We forget how much context we’re carrying. We’ve been living with the subject for weeks, months, sometimes years. Our audience may be hearing it for the first time. What feels obvious to us may require a bridge for them. 2️⃣ We focus on delivering information instead of creating meaning. People can understand every word you say and still wonder, “Why does this matter to me?” Information alone rarely creates connection or action. 3️⃣ We work so hard to get it right that we lose what makes the message human. Preparation matters. Polish matters. But when the pursuit of perfection takes over, relevance, presence, and personality can disappear. For me, the measure of good communication is not, “Did I cover everything?” It’s: ✨ Did they understand what mattered? ✨ Did they trust the message? ✨ Do they know what to do next? Those are very different questions. I’ll be digging into all three in my free live masterclass: Why Good Communicators Still Lose the Room A Connection Not Perfection™ Masterclass If communicating clearly and creating action are important to your work, I’d love to have you join us. Register here: https://lnkd.in/gy9Zxfs9 Which of these three patterns shows up most often in the rooms you’re in? #ExecutiveCommunication #LeadershipCommunication #CommunicationSkills #ConnectionNotPerfection

Andrea Heuston shared thisIntergenerational communication is not about memorizing stereotypes. It is about understanding how different people may prefer to receive information, build trust, make decisions, and stay aligned. Patterns are clues, not conclusions. After writing about each generation over the past several weeks, here is the full framework in one place: 1. Traditionalists Honor structure and respect. 2. Baby Boomers ➡️Honor relationships and impact. 3. Gen X ➡️Honor direct and useful communication. 4. Millennials ➡️Honor purpose and collaboration. 5. Gen Z ➡️Honor authenticity and transparency. 6. Gen Alpha ➡️Prepare for visual and AI-native communication. Across every generation, the same five principles matter: ✓ Clarify the purpose What needs to happen because of this communication? ✓ Avoid assumptions Generational patterns are clues, not conclusions. ✓ Match the message to the moment Choose the channel based on complexity, urgency, and trust. ✓ Make expectations visible Be clear about timing, format, ownership, and next steps. ✓ Check for connection Do not stop at “message sent.” Make sure the meaning landed. The goal is not perfect communication. The goal is connection. Which generation’s communication strength does your team need more of right now? #IntergenerationalCommunication #LeadershipCommunication #ConnectionNotPerfection
-
Andrea Heuston shared thisA message can be completely clear to you and still be unclear to everyone else. You know the background. You know the context. You know how the pieces connect. You know what matters most. Your audience does not. That is where clarity starts to break down. ● You give too much background. ● The point gets buried. ● There is no clear roadmap. ● People ask questions you thought you answered. ● They nod, but nothing happens next. ● And sometimes you find yourself repeating the same point again and again, hoping it will finally stick. Here is the test I come back to: A message is not clear when you say it. It is clear when they can repeat it. ✨ That shift changes everything. This is the third infographic in my series on why good communicators still lose the room, and I’ll be bringing all three together in my free live masterclass: Why Good Communicators Still Lose the Room A Connection Not Perfection™ Masterclass If your work depends on people understanding, remembering, and acting on what you say, I’d love to have you join us. Register here: https://lnkd.in/gy9Zxfs9 What is the first sign that tells you your message did not land? #ExecutiveCommunication #LeadershipCommunication #CommunicationSkills #Clarity #ConnectionNotPerfection

Andrea Heuston shared thisLead Like a Woman FEARLESS Featured Author: Jamie Van Cuyk Some women help others find their voice in the moments when it matters most. Jamie Van Cuyk does that in more than one arena. As a hiring strategist and the founder of Growing Your Team®, Jamie helps small business owners hire with confidence, build teams they can trust, and stop leaving one of the most important parts of business growth to guesswork. As a Certified Divorce Coach and the founder of Kayllian Collective, she supports high-achieving women navigating emotionally abusive relationships and divorce, helping ensure their needs, wants, and voices are heard every step of the way. That is what I love about Jamie’s work. She understands that confidence is not built in theory. It is built in real-life moments when a woman has to make hard decisions, ask for what she needs, and trust herself enough to move forward. Jamie is also a co-author of the bestselling book Rise & Find, serves on the Board of Directors for Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay and the Leadership St. Pete Alumni Association, and lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, with her daughters. And on the personal side? She is a hobby winemaker, traveler, rock climber, and aerial dancer, which feels very on-brand for a woman who knows something about courage, lift, and choosing the next hold. Andrea Heuston shared thisGEN ALPHA: PREPARING FOR WHAT IS NEXT Gen Alpha is not fully in the workforce yet. But they are already shaping how we think about communication, learning, attention, technology, and trust. They are growing up in a world where AI is normal, visual communication is expected, and information is instant. Which means the leadership question is not: “How do we make them communicate like us?” It is: “What will they need from us in order to understand, contribute, and connect?” And while generational patterns are clues, not conclusions, Gen Alpha gives us a chance to prepare instead of react. Here is what I am watching: ➡️ They may expect communication to be more visual. ➡️ They may need clearer context because information moves so quickly. ➡️ They may be highly comfortable with technology, but still need human connection. ➡️ They may ask different questions about trust, credibility, and purpose. ➡️ They may challenge leaders to be even more intentional with how we teach, explain, and engage. The deeper lesson? ✨ Every generation changes the workplace. The best leaders do not complain about that. They learn how to communicate across it. This wraps my intergenerational communication series. Next, I will bring all six generations together in one infographic you can save and use with your team. What communication shift do you think Gen Alpha will bring into the workplace? #IntergenerationalCommunication #LeadershipCommunication #ConnectionNotPerfection

Andrea Heuston shared thisTrust is rarely lost in one big moment. More often, it leaks through small communication habits we do not even realize we have. We give the audience everything we know instead of what they need. We polish the message until it no longer sounds like us. We hide behind the slides instead of connecting with the room. We assume the relevance is obvious. We deliver strong points without a clear thread between them. None of these means someone is a poor communicator. They show up most often in experienced, highly capable leaders. But over time, they create distance. And when an audience feels distance, trust becomes harder to build. That is why effective communication is not simply about being knowledgeable, polished, or prepared. It is about helping people feel the message was shaped with them in mind. I will be exploring this in my free live masterclass: ✨ Why Good Communicators Still Lose the Room A Connection Not Perfection™ Masterclass✨ We already have a wonderful group of leaders and communicators registered, and I would love to have you join us. Register here: https://lnkd.in/gy9Zxfs9 Which of these quiet trust leaks have you seen most often? #ExecutiveCommunication #LeadershipCommunication #CommunicationSkills #ExecutivePresence #ConnectionNotPerfection

Andrea Heuston shared this✨ Lead Like a Woman FEARLESS Featured Author: Rosemary Czopek ✨ Some women build businesses. Some women build businesses that create freedom for others. Rosemary Czopek does both. Rosemary is an entrepreneur, founder, and global business leader based in Puerto Rico. She began her entrepreneurial journey with Gorilla Stationers, a distribution and stationery company she built and led for more than fourteen years before selling the business and stepping into her next chapter. And like so many strong founders, her next chapter was born from lived experience. After experiencing firsthand the challenges of hiring, retaining, and scaling a local team, Rosemary founded Staff4Half in 2023 to help entrepreneurs and business owners grow with exceptional remote talent from Latin America. Her mission is rooted in freedom: giving founders the support and bandwidth to build stronger businesses while creating meaningful, high-quality opportunities for talented professionals in emerging markets. That is what I love about Rosemary’s work. She understands that growth is not just about revenue, headcount, or expansion. It is about building something resilient enough to support the life you actually want to live. A longtime EO member, podcast host, and passionate global citizen, Rosemary has lived and worked across countries and cultures, bringing a deeply human perspective to leadership, entrepreneurship, and reinvention. Her work centers on helping business owners build stronger companies, embrace remote teams, and create lives with more purpose, mobility, and possibility. I am so honored to have Rosemary Czopek as one of our featured authors in Lead Like a Woman: FEARLESS. He's also a reiki practitioner, and I drive over an hour to see him. What started as a spa day indulgence has turned into non-negotiable maintenance — same as cash flow reviews or client check-ins. 💆🏽♀️ This week, between the massage and the energy work, he said something simple: watch how you talk to yourself. I "know" this. I'm sure I've lectured my daughter about it. Doesn't stop me from being the exception to my own rule. Not just hard on myself. Occasionally, outright rude. So: one month of intentional positive self-talk. Catching the voice. Editing it in real time. Dare I say, cheerleading! 📣 What I got wrong this week — I've been teaching a lesson I don't practice. I'll report back. #WIGWTW #thebodykeepsthescore #CEOlife #selfcare

Andrea Heuston liked thisAndrea Heuston liked thisYay, so excited to share that Hippotanicals is now officially a U.S. seller on Alibaba.com! As a small business owner, learning a new platform can feel overwhelming, and I’ve been incredibly grateful for the support of Adam Yuan and the Alibaba team throughout the onboarding process. Adam has been exceptionally responsive, meeting with me over video, patiently answering my questions, and even providing detailed screenshots so I could confidently manage our storefront. His team also helped build our storefront, which made the process so much easier. I’m also very thankful to Kevin, Owen, and the rest of the team for guiding us through the Alibaba CoCreate process and working with me on our booth design and event preparations. Everyone has been so kind, helpful, and responsive. And then came an incredible surprise: Hippotanicals was selected as one of only 10 businesses to receive a complimentary booth in the U.S. Pavilion at Alibaba CoCreate 2026! 🎉 While we weren’t selected as a #CoCreate Pitch finalist this year, I already feel like we’ve won in so many ways. Becoming a U.S. seller, being selected for the U.S. Pavilion, and having the opportunity to showcase Hippotanicals to buyers through CoCreate’s Featured Suppliers section are opportunities I’m incredibly grateful for. 📍 Los Angeles Convention Center 📅 September 9-10, 2026 As Hippotanicals continues to grow, we’re looking forward to connecting with retailers, hospitality partners, distributors, and manufacturing partners who can help us thoughtfully scale while maintaining the quality and values at the heart of our brand. A heartfelt thank you to Adam Yuan, Kevin, Owen, and the entire Alibaba team. I truly love working with this team! If you’ll be attending Alibaba CoCreate, please stop by our booth and say hello. I’d love to meet you! #AlibabaCoCreate #Alibaba #Hippotanicals #SmallBusiness #Wholesale #Retail #Hospitality #Sustainability

Andrea Heuston reacted on thisAndrea Heuston reacted on thisMost women do not have estate plans in place. Studies show as many as 70% of us, in fact. And a lot of us report feeling embarrassed to admit it, but that shame is just wasted energy. As a business lawyer, when I help clients start, acquire, or grow their business, we talk about aligning their business and estate goals. This is usually where it comes up that they have been meaning to get their affairs in order but life and business kept getting in the way. Women control more wealth in the US than ever before. It is past time for us to let go of shame about what we think we should have done or known or figured out before. Need a little inspiration? Dolly Parton was a brilliant business woman purported to have planned her estate meticulously to care for her loved ones and philanthropic passions after her passing. Let's Dolly up.

Loving this Human Design insight today and the way it was said. Yes. And if you read my bio, I did mention the lived experience as the basis for my Substack writing over here. (no coincidences, living my purpose) 🙌 Human Design is a wonderful rabbit hole I love to keep going down. There is something new to discover every single time. Your 3/5 profile… You are here to: * Live it * Break it * Fix it * Teach it You become famous through lived experience… not theory. People don’t follow you because you’re perfect. They follow you because you’ve been through it and can guide them out. I always say, I go first, I walk through the fires, I turn around and share it with you. It’s my design!
