Benoit Berthoux shared thisOvertime is a major issue for several large industrial COOs we partner with. In the last 40 years AWOTMAN only dipped below 3.5h twice, during the GFC and during COVID. Frontline operators have institutionalized OT labor as their flex capacity, and the trend is up: +17% since Oct 2023. While overtime solves short-term operational gaps, it has deeper impacts: - OT creates a “staffing doom loop”, feeding worker fatigue, leading to higher injury and attrition rates; operations running high overtime report high absenteeism at 2.3x the rate of normal-OT operations (Circadian, Shiftwork Practices survey) - It also ends up costing a lot, the equivalent of 5% of straight-time payroll permanently (my math on BLS data: ~4 OT hrs/week at a 1.5x premium) Our industry can do better. AI workforce management can break the doom loop at its source: forecast the shortfall early, fill it with fresh workers instead of tired ones, and stop paying a permanent 5% premium for capacity that makes the problem worse. Benoit Berthoux shared thisThanks for the shout-out Simon Khalaf! We're on a mission to bring prosperity to US Workers. We want our products to be life-changing and unlock the flywheel between labor and financial freedom. Earn is the new Borrow.Benoit Berthoux shared thisAfter Karen Webster and PYMNTS shared our video, many have asked what does it mean for work to be the fourth rail. Well before 1910, work was the 1st rail. You work, you get paid, you go shopping and there is no debt. As in "Biblical", "give us today our daily bread". Since the invention of the credit card, which has become the drug the US is high on, It has become the 1st rail, then debit was the second. Luckily, Fintech rolled out BNPL, which is technically credit whose fees and interest are somehow funded by a retailer. Well, WorkWhile we will send you back to the future, and out of debt, by making work the 4th rail to start and hopefully make it the 1st rail. You have a bill, you work, we pay you instantly and your bill gets paid. Magic. Welcome back to 1910 in which wall street didn't control main street. #GreenIsTheNewBlack #AIWorks #DebtIsWorseThanDrugs. Many thanks to Benoit Berthoux Nikhil Bhagwat Jered Snyder Alan Armen Jonathan Sands Tan Nguyen Yasaman Samiee Karim Ezzedeen and to Visa for making this happen! and I owe Karen Webster something, as I didn't know the 3rd rail was a taboo in the US. 😍

Benoit Berthoux shared thisI recently clocked a WorkWhile shift for one of our on-demand delivery partners and I was blown away by the fellow workers I met at the dock. Everyone was dialed-in and ready to load their car at least 10 minutes before the start of the shift (our app lets you fully onboard pre-shift and helps you time your drive to beat traffic on the way to the warehouse) and super open when I asked for tips to optimize my route. What really struck me was the overwhelming positivity and "let's go get it" attitude. From a single mom to a full-time hourly "warrior", everyone showed up on a mission. Talking to workers at the dock, it hit me why next-day pay is by far our most loved feature: when you're picking up an extra shift to stay ahead of your bills, getting paid tomorrow isn't a just perk (the reality for 67% of our workers, who would otherwise have to lean further on their credit cards). Outstanding products often excel at answering one need, simply. We’re building a solution to address a clear north star for our Workers, Prosperity, and earned wage access is a stepping stone. I'm excited to share more about our roadmap in the weeks to come. Special shout-out to Francine who helped me navigate my post-shift journey (@carmenchau and Joe Mifsud, you're building a world class support team!)

Benoit Berthoux reposted thisBenoit Berthoux reposted thisThere are over 83 million hourly workers who are essential to our economy, but undervalued and underserved. Conventional wisdom says they are a credit risk: unreliable and financially undisciplined. The data says otherwise. WorkWhile's new 2026 Flex Work Nation report — drawing from 3,000+ workers on the platform, majority workers of color, female, and parents — debunks those stereotypes: - When an unexpected expense hits, 68% of workers pick up an extra shift rather than reach for a credit card - 34% of workers have paid off debt since joining WorkWhile (and 40% of Gen Z workers are now debt-free entirely) When workers are empowered by tools that match them with better shifts, pay them the next day, and offer free telehealth and pathways to college degrees, they take charge of their own economic destiny. They earn their way through emergencies, build credit instead of debt, and turn hourly work from a lifeline into a ladder to prosperity. Treating workers well is both the right thing and the better business. We are incredibly proud of Simon Khalaf, Jarah Euston and the WorkWhile team as they build the labor market infrastructure to prove this at scale. Link to report in the comments.

Benoit Berthoux shared thisEarn is the new Borrow. At WorkWhile we’re on a mission to eradicate debt and create wealth for everyday American workers.Benoit Berthoux shared thisExcited to be sharing all of the amazing insights from WorkWhile's latest Flex Work Nation report: Earn is the New Borrow. We talk to hourly workers all day every day. This survey is a comprehensive analysis of what over 3,000 American hourly workers think about the economy, AI, and their finances. There are so many preconceived notions about the frontline workforce, like they don't care about their credit, they're not responsible about savings, and they don't care about financial planning. It couldn't be further from the truth. 67% of workers say that when they need money, the first thing they do is turn to WorkWhile to pick up a shift, not grab for a credit card, payday loan, or hit up a friend for money. They just go to work. Couldn't be prouder to be building for the real America. Get the whole report at workwhile.ai Stay tuned for more insights from me and Head of Data Science Alan Armen

Benoit Berthoux reposted thisBenoit Berthoux reposted thisWorkWhile CEO Simon Khalaf: “[Workers are] looking at their total take-home pay, including transportation, and looking at the total money they’re making, not the money per hour.” In other words, a shift can pay more per hour and still be the worse job. Once workers subtract gas, commute time and the cost of waiting for payday, the wage on the sign isn’t the wage they actually keep. That is the point that Simon said while he and I were chatting on our latest podcast about the impact of higher gas prices on the roughly 60 million hourly workers in the U.S. The latest PYMNTS Intelligence Wage to Wallet research finds that for more than one in four of them so little of the paycheck remains after a fill up that every shift becomes a calculation. Is it in my overall financial benefit to show up? That makes gas prices more than an affordability story. It’s turned into a labor access problem, and employers that don’t understand that may find they can’t staff the shift.

Benoit Berthoux reposted thisBenoit Berthoux reposted thisA wage tells you what an hour is worth. It doesn't tell you whether that hour will show up on the schedule, or vanish from it with two days' notice. The latest Wage to Wallet Index from PYMNTS Intelligence and WorkWhile puts a number on that uncertainty: roughly $400 million in expected wages shifts each week among workers facing 10-hour swings, north of $20 billion a year. Benoit Berthoux liked thisWorkWhile is commited to helping workers connect with great companies to work with, but also, to help them better their lives. Did you know only 43% of the US is able to pay off their monthly credit card bill? I'll be honest, that percentage surprised me. With an average interest rate on credit card balances hovering around 24%, that money accrues quickly. These stats invigorated me to work harder, to help more people. It only takes one hospital stay or one fender bender to get behind on your bills and it's easy to reach for the credit card to get by while you try to catch up. I proud to work for a company that has a true mission and works everyday towards that mission. Have a listen to our Chief Economist, Alan Armen discuss below. https://lnkd.in/p/gbzB6cFk #Earnisthenewborrow Simon Khalaf Benoit Berthoux Johnny Frohlichstein Eva WeiBenoit Berthoux liked thisWhen costs spike, this workforce reaches for a shift, not a credit card. Episode 4 of Earn is the New Borrow is live! Economists Alan Armen and Debora Loccisano break down how hourly workers are staying ahead of inflation, one shift at a time. WorkWhile's 2026 report found that 67.6% pick up an extra shift to cover a surprise expense, making them nearly three times more likely to add hours than to reach for a credit card. Their read: accessible earning capacity is a more resilient safety net than a static savings account. Savings can drain, but the ability to earn stays available as long as the shifts are there. For employers, that's the signal worth reading. This is a workforce that treats an open shift as financial stability, so when you post one, they show up. Full episode and the 2026 report are in the comments.

Why the disconnect between fact and narrative? Below are three completely different data series, all telling the same story: the Return to Office has largely stalled out. Surveys: Full days worked from home in the US have stabilized at about 25%, based on 6,000 responses a month from SWAA data. Office use: Kastle Systems data show office occupancy has stabilized at about 40% down vs February 2020 levels, based on 2,600+ buildings. Mobility data: Placer.ai data show foot traffic into office locations has stabilized at 25% below July 2019 levels, based on 700+ locations. Different measures. Different datasets. Same conclusion. Benoit Berthoux liked thisBenoit Berthoux liked thisThank you Forbes for finally calling it what it is. It is not "More", it is "Every" worker in the US is now treated as a "Disposable Asset". We have all been in a Town Hall in which management/HR babbles on how valuable employees are, while the CFO is cutting headcount and HR is checking every legal loophole to make sure the RIF is "claims free". LinkedIn peeps, please "dispose" of your workers to us. Send us your "disposable asset" to us. At WorkWhile workers are not the disposable asset, "Employment As It Stands" is the disposable asset. It is time to flip the script. WorkWhile is THE ONLY AI-native company that makes the worker the non-disposable asset. Benoit Berthoux reacted on thisBenoit Berthoux reacted on thisI just joined WorkWhile as Chief Business Officer. WorkWhile is building something I’ve wanted to be part of for a long time: a labor marketplace that genuinely works for both workers and businesses. Businesses get quality workers who show up: reliability they can build their operations on, significant cost savings and reliability. 1.3+ Million workers on WorkWhile get next-day pay, work flexibility, skill development and a path to earn a better living and live a better life. That last part is what pulled me in. Flexible work powers our economy and too often leaves the people doing it behind. WorkWhile is out to change that, utilizing AI to make the whole system more reliable, and to empower, not replace the people inside it. My job is to build the commercial engine for the next phase of growth, including Sales, Revenue Operations, Field and Marketplace Operations, Support, Trust & Safety, B2B Marketing and the Econ Lab. We are working hard to turn a great product into a category leader. There’s a lot to build, and this is the team that will make it happen. Grateful to Simon Khalaf, Jarah Euston and the WorkWhile team for building this powerful marketplace, and for this opportunity. If you run flexible workforces, or you are excited to help build this, let’s talk.

Before you commit to building any component of a telehealth platform, talk to me. I’ve been down that road. A custom build can be a great investment, but only under the right conditions. Too many variables, too little time, and you end up owning tech instead of traction. I’ve rarely seen regret from going to market with a partner first. You gain speed, save cost, and validate your vision. You can always own the stack later once you’ve earned the scale to justify it.

A great example of how Carta Healthcare's intelligence platform can deliver real value for health systems. Most health systems view registry abstraction as a cost center, a necessary check box for compliance. But when a single metric like "Elective PCI with Stress Imaging" (Metric 4462) flags a fallout, it’s a hit to quality of care, reputation and reimbursement. The work Jessica Norman, MSN, RN, CPPS and Betsy Castillo just published in JACC: Case Reports is a great example of how to use Carta’s hybrid intelligence approach to deconstruct the logic of the failure. (link in the comments) The result? A 68% reduction in fallouts. Huge congratulations to Jessica, Betsy, and the entire Carta Healthcare team for demonstrating that accurate data is the best route to better performance. If your organization is still treating abstraction as manual labor rather than business intelligence, you need to look at what Carta is building with Atlas and Navigator. Dozens of health systems are doing the same! Brent Dover Mary H. Christopher Mazzanti Lucas Tanner James Matheson Greg Miller Jared Crapo #HealthTech #ClinicalData #AI #CartaHealthcare

Transforming healthcare with AI requires industry. Industry requires capital investment. Capital investment requires return. Return requires revenue. Revenue requires reimbursement. Medicare (and transitively private insurance) reimbursement policy for clinical AI will define the incentives for the technologies we build and deploy over the next decade. Our existing fee for service codes are what the military would call cost-plus contracting. We pay for every nail, screw, and hour of labor and don't care if that was a good and efficient way to build the tank or not. Our CMS Innovation Center director, Abe Sutton, believes cost-plus is the wrong path for the future of American healthcare. ACCESS and VBC models pay for outcomes. When we have AI that can manage heart failure can we link payment to making people healthier? Doing so would unleash the might of American techno-capitalism on exactly the thing we care about in society, but there are devils in the details.
