Mine is a small contribution to this project, but the chance to think alongside Azim and Greg about what it takes to lead well in the age of #AI (hint: it's not the algorithms) was still genuinely exciting. If Douglas Adams taught us anything, it's that an answer without the right question is just noise. This book is about asking better questions, and I'm confident even seasoned leaders will find it useful. Congratulations to Azim and Greg on bringing it into the world! Christopher Dole reacted on thisChristopher Dole reacted on thisFive years ago this month, my life changed with the words: "You have cancer.” I was 30 years old, preparing to welcome our first son, and suddenly had no idea what the future would hold. Today, I'm grateful to be nearly four years in remission. More importantly, I have the privilege of raising two incredible boys. I don’t take that for granted and none of it would be possible without my exceptional team at The James, the support of family and friends, and advances in cancer research, including an immunotherapy clinical trial that that helped save my life. To recognize this five-year milestone, I've committed to raising $5,000 through Pelotonia. It's my way of honoring how far I've come, and the research that made it possible. If you're in a position to contribute, I’d sincerely appreciate it. One of the things that makes Pelotonia so impactful is that 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to innovative cancer research at Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute. I am living proof of what’s possible when those investments lead to new breakthroughs, and I'm hopeful they will continue giving more people and families the same chance I was given. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey over the past five years. Your encouragement and generosity have meant more than you know, and I’m fortunate for the opportunity to help pay that support forward. Link to support my ride: https://lnkd.in/gm7d2MHB

Christopher Dole liked thisChristopher Dole liked thisA little career gratitude post, with only a modest amount of emotional maturity. Please remain calm. 😎 Several weeks ago, I left a full-time job and moved back into fractional work. Which is a fancy way of saying I now get paid by more than one company to say things like, “Have we considered measuring whether this is actually working?” 🚗💼 And somehow, through a mix of experience, luck, stubbornness, caffeine, and my lifelong allergy to corporate theater, I now have two great clients in the automotive space. I’m making more than I was as a full-time employee. And, more importantly, I’m having a lot more fun. Best of all, so far, no one’s invited me to a two-hour meeting to prepare for a one-hour meeting about a meeting we probably don’t need. So yes, I’m thriving. 🙏😂 Turns out, my best career move was leaving the room where “alignment” goes to multiply and results go to die. I also recently finished my book, Cutting Through the Bullshit: A Marketing Leader’s Guide to Surviving and Thriving in Chaos. 📘 Writing it was a bucket list item. Selling a bunch of copies wasn’t the goal. But it’s actually selling pretty well, which is both exciting and mildly concerning. Apparently, there’s a market for marketing advice written by someone who’s seen too many dashboards, survived too many reorgs, and still has opinions. A lot of opinions. 🤷♂️🔥 More than anything, I’m grateful. 👉 Grateful for the friends who encouraged me. 👉 Grateful for the family who put up with me saying, “I’m almost done with the book,” for what turned out to be the literary equivalent of a government infrastructure project. 🏗️ 👉 Grateful for the colleagues, clients, and former teammates who’ve supported me, referred me, challenged me, and occasionally prevented me from replying-all with my inside voice. 🙌 👉 And grateful to be at a point in my career where I get to do meaningful work, with people I like, on problems that actually matter. Turns out, career reinvention is a lot more fun when it comes with fewer politics, fewer status meetings, and fewer people using the word “synergy” without consequences. 🚀 Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this next chapter. I’m having a blast. Which is inconvenient, because now I have to admit that change can be good. And I was really hoping to stay bitter about it. 🙄😂

But innovation has never followed those boundaries. Across the Midwest and throughout the interior of the country, founders are building ambitious companies in enterprise AI/software, deep tech, and life sciences. They are solving complex, real-world problems in industries and markets that too often remain undercapitalized. That belief is a big part of why we built R1 Capital. At R1 Capital, we believe great companies can be built anywhere, but they do not succeed alone. I shared more on why we built R1 Capital, the opportunity we see between the coasts, and the advantage we call the Backyard Effect on the R1 blog. Christopher Dole liked thisChristopher Dole liked thisEvery time I see someone call themselves a “Thought Leader” on LinkedIn, I immediately assume they own at least one ring light and have cried over engagement metrics. 🫠 “CEO | Visionary | Growth Hacker | Thought Leader” Sir… you sell industrial adhesive. Calm down. 🧴 Here’s the thing: If you have to TELL people you’re a thought leader… you probably aren’t one. Nobody walks into a room and says: 👉 “Hello everyone, I’m the funny guy.” 👉 “Good afternoon, I’m the cool one.” 👉 “Nice to meet you, I’m wildly charismatic.” That’s not how this works. 😂 Real influence is earned. People decide you’re insightful AFTER: ✅ You consistently say smart things ✅ You have actual experience ✅ You share ideas people find useful ✅ You occasionally survive a catastrophic business decision and live to tell the story 💀 Also… somewhere along the way LinkedIn turned “thought leader” into: “Person who posts 14 times a day about waking up at 4:12am to grind mindset content while standing next to a rented Lamborghini.” 🚘🔥 At this point the phrase has the same energy as: 🚩 “Ninja” 🚩 “Guru” 🚩 “Disruptor” 🚩 “Serial entrepreneur” with one failed Etsy store The best leaders I’ve worked with rarely talk about how brilliant they are. They just quietly build things, fix things, grow things, and occasionally send a terrifyingly concise email that changes an entire company. 😅 Pro tip: Replace “Thought Leader” with literally ANYTHING more specific. Examples: ✔️ Retail marketer ✔️ B2B growth strategist ✔️ Recovering corporate executive ✔️ Person currently held together by caffeine and quarterly targets ☕ Way more believable!

My latest CCC Intelligent Solutions Trends report takes an in-depth look at how slowing EV sales, rising off-lease supply, shifting used vehicle values, depreciation, total loss trends, and repair dynamics are reshaping the market. While EVs still represent a relatively small share of vehicles in operation, their influence is becoming more pronounced in newer vehicle segments, claims activity, and repair economics. #CCCTrends #ElectricVehicles #AutoClaims #CollisionRepair Read the full report here:From Surge to Stall: What's Really Driving the EV Market ResetFrom Surge to Stall: What's Really Driving the EV Market ResetKyle Krumlauf

Christopher Dole liked thisChristopher Dole liked thisMost AI agent deployments have a hidden flaw. It's not the model. It's not the infrastructure. It's not the tooling. It's the absence of deep subject matter expertise in the design of the agent itself. Here's the pattern we see repeatedly: A business deploys an AI agent with a capable foundation model. The agent performs well on standard inputs. Then it encounters the edge cases — the nuanced regulatory question, the domain-specific exception, the judgment call that requires years of field experience to navigate correctly. And it fails. Confidently. Fluently. Expensively. The agents that deliver real business value aren't just technically sophisticated. They're domain-informed at the architectural level. This means: → The prompts are shaped by practitioners who know the field → The tools are designed around real workflows, not generic patterns → The guardrails reflect actual domain risk, not theoretical risk → The evaluation criteria are grounded in what "correct" actually means in context At ClearDataAI, we build AI agent systems at the intersection of engineering depth and subject matter mastery. Because a model is not a strategy — and an agent framework is not a finished business system. The architect knows. The question is whether yours does. 👉 https://lnkd.in/g6uKjWYa

I was delighted to co-author with the brilliant and inimitable David Bray, PhD a chapter titled "Illuminating the Invisible: AI's Role in Understanding Complex, Opaque, and Dynamic Ecosystems" for the newly released book, Artificial Intelligence Revolution (Published by Springer, edited by Max Rangeley and Nicholas Fairfax) Leaders scramble between chasing automation (pushing AI everywhere) and managing its fallout. This chapter tackles a problem often deemed too complex for AI alone, and yet one which has broad-sweeping implications in the modern world. We present a rigorous approach to how practitioners can use human-computer complementarity and advanced data-driven methods to detect disruption in complex, opaque ecosystems. The future isn't about sidelining human judgment; it’s about elevating it to navigate an increasingly challenging and disrupted world. #ai #StrategicAIGovernance #EcosystemDynamics #HumanAIComplementarity #DataScience #AgenticAI https://lnkd.in/e42rGtKV

#AI is such a hot topic conversation but I see a lot of risk in the endless experimentation I am seeing out there, which is not addressing AI capabilities from the methodological systems approach needed to scale trustworthy AI in organizations and create a real ROI. In this great podcast with SaskTel President & CEO Charlene Gavel, CPA, CA as well as Jas Jaaj #Deloitte’s Global AI lead, they break down how Canada should think about AI Economic Zones and why #Saskatchewan is so well positioned with the core elements needed to build truly national scalable (and exportable) solutions: SaskTel’s heavy investment in #5G, access to excess power for compute, Tier 3 data centres already operating & ready to scale, true partnerships with indigenous nations to move economic reconciliation forward all have been key. At this moment that matters in Canada, maintaining control over the soveriegnty of our data and using AI for good to help feed the world in #agriculture and serve patients better in #healthcare have never been more important. Making an Impact That Matters is what drives us here at Deloitte. Have a listen!
