Craig Kimble posted thisHappy New Year, LinkedIn. I'm excited to engage more, share insights, and interact with you here in 2026. I've noticed more and more the "cookie cutter" postings that get shared here: the repetitive posts, offerings of corporate generated charts, with the sole intention of views or clicks. Let's take back more "original thought" this year. Let's stay away from the "Rewrite with AI" button. We can hold off this AI machine for a little while longer, together. If you're in or around the Boston market, and you want to discuss hiring market, trends, salary shifts, or are in the market for finance/accounting staff augmentation, hit me up! Always up for a chat! Cheers! Craig

Craig Kimble liked thisCraig Kimble liked this🎉 Q1 Recruiting Is a Wrap! 🎉 As we close out the first quarter, I couldn’t be prouder of the momentum we’re building at Charlesbridge, Dedham Savings and South Shore Bank. ✅ 26 new hires joined our organization - • 25 of those were direct hires • 11 came from referrals, a huge testament to the pride our employees take in where we work and who we bring in And just as important… ⬆️ 5 team members were promoted into open roles, reinforcing our commitment to developing, growing, and retaining great talent from within. This is what progress looks like—when strong teams attract strong people, when employees advocate for their workplace, and when career growth isn’t just talked about, but acted on. Grateful to our hiring managers, employees, and recruiting partners who made this quarter such a success. Shout out to our talented Recruiting Coordinator - Victoria Uzzell - who is one of our Q1 new hires. 👏 We're so glad you joined us! 📊 Connecticut Hiring Trends – What We're Seeing in May 2025 As someone involved in the staffing space here in Connecticut, I wanted to share a quick snapshot of the trends we’re watching closely this spring: ✅ Job Growth vs. Talent Gaps: With 73,000+ open jobs and low unemployment (3.0%), companies are competing hard for skilled talent. 🏥 Healthcare is hurting: Workforce shortages continue to strain hospitals and providers — we’re seeing rising demand for nurses, allied health, and support staff. 🏭 Manufacturing is hiring: CNC machinists, robotics techs, and QA roles are hot, but many employers are struggling to find qualified candidates. 🧠 Skills-based hiring is accelerating: More companies are rethinking degree requirements and focusing on technical competencies and soft skills. 🤖 AI is changing the game: From recruitment automation to analytics, hiring is becoming faster and more data-driven. 💡 Retention is the new recruitment: Flexible schedules, wellness initiatives, and mental health support are no longer perks — they’re expected. At Randstad, we’re working daily with employers across CT to help them adapt to these shifts — whether it’s building a more agile workforce or rethinking how they hire. If you’re navigating similar challenges, let’s connect. #Staffing #ConnecticutJobs #WorkforceTrends #Hiring2025 #RecruitmentStrategy #CTWorkforce #SkillsGap

Tuesday Thought 💭 | Why Work with a Contingency Recruiter in NYC? The accounting & finance talent market in New York is one of the most competitive in the country. The best candidates aren’t sitting on job boards—they’re busy delivering for their current companies, and often only move when the right opportunity finds them. That’s where I come in. At Robert Half, I focus exclusively on permanent Accounting & Finance searches in NYC. A few reasons clients partner with me: 📊 Market knowledge – I live and breathe the New York finance market. From Staff Accountants to Controllers to FP&A talent, I know where compensation needs to land and how competitive each search will be. 🤝 Access to passive talent – Many of the professionals I place aren’t actively applying online. They’re people I’ve built relationships with over years—sharp talent that trusts me to bring them the right opportunities. ⚡ Speed + efficiency – Contingency means no upfront fee. You see vetted candidates quickly, without wasting time sifting through resumes that don’t align. 🔒 Flexibility + confidentiality – Every search is handled discreetly. You keep full control of the process while leveraging my network and expertise. In a market where roles often sit open for months, the companies that land the right people are the ones who move decisively and partner strategically. If you’re scaling your Accounting & Finance team this fall, I’d be happy to share what I’m seeing across the NYC market and how I can help you cut through the noise. Boston Market Update 📈 Accounting & Finance | September 2025 🟢 Unemployment Snapshot • Massachusetts: 4.8% in May 2025, up from 4.6% in April • City of Boston: 5.2% in May 2025 — a notable rise • Boston–Cambridge–Quincy Metro: 3.9% as of December 2024 (latest available metro data) 🟢 Hiring Trends in Accounting & Finance • Time-to-hire has slowed. Roles that once filled in 2–3 weeks are now stretching to 45+ days, particularly for mid to executive level positions. • Flexibility remains a top priority. 72% of candidates prefer hybrid or remote options, but many Boston-area employers still lean in-office. • Compensation is stabilizing: 🏳️ Boutique companies are seeing small salary declines for Staff through Manager-level roles. 🏳️Mid-to-executive compensation remains more stable. 🏳️The sharp salary spikes of 2022–2023 appear to be behind us in today’s tighter market. 🟢 Candidate vs. Client Market? The landscape is mixed. On the talent side, accounting degree enrollments and CPA applications continue to decline. On the employer side, budget constraints and rising expectations are making hiring decisions more selective—especially for full-time hires. If you're looking to hire, or considering in the near future, and would like to dive deeper into trends I'm seeing and how to be the most competitive, please don't hesitate to reach out. Why senior accountants in manufacturing are suddenly getting calls from private equity recruiters? Something interesting is happening across Fairfield County and Westchester County. PE firms and portfolio companies are starting to eye talent outside of financial services. One of the hottest segments? Senior accountants in manufacturing. Why the shift? - These candidates are used to fast-paced, complex operations - They bring strong cost accounting, inventory, and ERP experience - They’re often overlooked and open to new challenges Private equity-backed firms are looking for people who can scale finance in real businesses, not just funds. And industry accountants are starting to take those calls. If you’re in a manufacturing role and want to break into a high-growth PE environment, this might be your moment. #IndustryAccounting #ManufacturingFinance #PrivateEquityJobs #FairfieldCounty #WestchesterCounty #CareerPivot #AccountingCareers #2026Hiring

Recruitment Owners: Thinking about adding contract staffing in 2026? Before you do, run through this quick checklist. Can you fund weekly payroll while clients pay in 30 to 60 days? Do you know your true gross margins after overtime, benefits, and compliance costs? Can you onboard contractors within 24 to 48 hours without manual bottlenecks? Are you prepared for multi-state tax, workers comp, and classification rules? Do your systems scale beyond quarterly placements? The Contract Staffing Playbook I just read lays this out clearly. It even includes a full readiness checklist that forces you to think through funding, compliance, onboarding speed, and margin math before you make the switch. What I appreciated most is that it does not just talk about growth. It talks about infrastructure. Contract staffing can create durable, recurring revenue. But only if the backend is built for it. If this is part of your growth plan, I dropped the link in the comments. It is worth reviewing before you make the move. I wish I would have had this from the start!

The larger recruiting firms working to fill your controller role? They probably have 4 or 5 other controller roles they’re working on at the same time. So that ideal controller who you’d love to hire? Their resume is getting sent to half a dozen other companies too. (Sometimes, whether they know it or not) And the first one who makes an offer will get to hire them. One reason why working with a big firm doesn’t always mean you get more or better candidates… Often, it actually means you get less. But when I work on a controller role? I’m working on YOUR controller role. Not pitching 4-5 opportunities for them to consider at the same time. Or throwing spaghetti at the wall just to see if I can place someone. I’m spending all my time and resources on that role until it’s filled. It's intentional.

Why Upskilling Current Employees Could be the Right Move Kelly Merry February 9, 2026 Connecticut Staffing Agency, Employers, Employment market In today’s Connecticut labor market, hiring alone isn’t enough to keep businesses fully staffed. Qualified candidates in Hartford County, New London County, Windham County and surrounding areas – are hard to find, competition is high, and open roles often stay vacant longer than expected. Employers who rely solely on external hiring are feeling the strain. That’s why more organizations are turning inward – Merry Staffing supports organizations that are innovative and investing in their current workforce. This will help in building stability on teams and circumventing the current labor shortage. The Cost of Not Developing Your Existing Team When employees aren’t given opportunities to grow, Connecticut businesses face: Higher turnover | Increased recruiting costs | Ongoing skill gaps that slow productivity. Replacing employees is often more expensive and disruptive than developing the one you already have. How Upskilling Helps Close the Talent Gap Upskilling allows employers to adapt to changing demands without constantly searching for new hires. Teaching employees new skills helps organizations: Fill roles internally when external talent is scarce |Increase flexibility across teams |Improve employee engagement and retention |Reduce dependency on an unpredictable labor market. Employees who see a path forward are more likely to stay – and perform. Upskilling Also Strengthens Accountability and Performance Training isn’t just about new skills; it reinforces expectations. When employees are invested in and properly trained, they are more confident, more capable, and more accountable in their roles. Clear development paths create stronger alignment between Connecticut business needs and employee performance. A Smarter Long-Term Hiring Strategy | Investing in People Protects Your Workforce. Employers who balance recruiting with employee development are in a better position to weather the current labor shortages. Upskilling creates a pipeline of internal talent, reduces turnover, and protects operations from constant disruption. At the same time, Connecticut Staffing Partners | Merry Staffing – can help identify where training will have the greatest impact – and submit candidates that are ready to learn. Labor shortages are not going away anytime soon. Employers who focus on developing the employees they have- gain a competitive advantage – stronger teams, better retention, and fewer gaps when the market tightens. Upskilling isn’t just good for employees, it is critical for long term workforce stability.
