The COLOTRAQ AI Practice Group will enable our partners to better serve their clients as businesses embrace AI. We will focus on developing an actionable and comprehensive AI Strategy that will truly transform the client’s existing business processes and workflows through Custom AI Development and Private LLM implementation. COLOTRAQ agrees that the AI opportunity is large for the channel. Businesses of all sizes will be able to leverage AI, but not all will be able to get the desired outcomes from a mass market product. Many businesses could benefit from Agentic AI, GenAI, or Private LLM applications that would add real value to their businesses. Dany Bouchedid liked thisDany Bouchedid liked thisI’ve been going to data center and technology trade shows for over 30 years… and this week marked my 20th Data Center World Honestly, it’s hard to wrap my head around this industry when I think about where we started versus where we are today. What stood out to me this year was exactly what this event has become known for—bringing together operators, developers, engineers, and innovators from across the ecosystem to tackle the biggest challenges we face. I was genuinely impressed by the level of collaboration, the pace of innovation, and the collective drive to figure out how we scale responsibly while truly endearing ourselves to the communities that host us. Every conversation I had pointed in the same direction: people are committed to building a positive, sustainable future and shaping what is clearly the next industrial revolution. And let’s be honest—it’s always a great show when you can mix in a baseball game, a little ping pong, some cherry blossoms, and time with people you genuinely care about. Big thank you to everyone at Informa and the Data Center World team for putting on such a great event—and for being a constant throughout most of my career. I am grateful for all of it. Dany Bouchedid liked thisDany Bouchedid liked thisVegas Baby! Next week, Telecommunications Channel Partners from across the globe descend on Las Vegas for the annual conference with their new sports coats and soft-soled wingtips. Vendors will cross swords over how great their new AI offerings are; it will be the buzz of the show. Many will go home more confused about it than they were before. Some vendors will profess the old standard: better, faster, stronger, deeper, than the competitor next to them. Some will even expound on their brilliant new Portal! I am going to throw out a few softballs that some might consider chattering about with vendors and partners in Vegas 1. Customer Service 2. Customer Satisfaction 3. Measuring Performance 4. Giving a damn about the client as much as revenue 5. A proactive partner approach rather than a reactive one 6. Accountability for delivery post-sale 7. What happens when it breaks??????? Although I won’t be there, I encourage those going to ask questions that make people's foreheads wrinkle. If you can make a wrinkle, you touched on an emotion of some sort. The questions I propose are straightforward, but if they aren't addressed soon, many on that show floor this year may not still be in business by next year.

Dany Bouchedid liked thisDany Bouchedid liked thisI want to thank Bob Trojan and Julius Caesar Parreñas for inviting me to share my thoughts on the policy implications of AI trends during a tremendous panel discussion with Asad Ramzanali, Michael Akinwumi, and Makoto Okubo on March 18th in Washington DC, part of two days of insightful conversation organized by ABAC (APEC Business Advisory Council) to gather information and recommendations for the Asia Pacific Financial Forum (APFF). My comments were largely focused on the myriad policy questions that derive from the race to build dominant foundational AI models and the economic implications of AI for individuals, companies, and economies. I am grateful for the opportunity to lean from so many contributors and engage in these critical conversations.

Hosted Telecom Solutions Alerts Boston Area Businesses to Sharp 50% Increase in Eversource Electric Rates Boston, MA — October 20, 2025 — Hosted Telecom Solutions (www.hostedtel.net), a nationwide full-service provider of IT and telecommunications solutions, today announced a significant electric rate increase impacting the Boston area’s Eversource NEMA zone for commercial rate classes G2, G3, and EV2. Effective November 2025, the electric supply rates for these classes will increase by $0.06049 per kWh, rising from $0.12078 to $0.18127 — an unprecedented 50% hike. What this means in real terms for customers: For a business using 100,000 kWh per month, the electric bill will increase by approximately $6,049 per month during November, December, and January. This adds up to an additional $18,147 over just three months, creating a significant budget impact requiring immediate attention. Hosted Telecom Solutions urges businesses in the Boston area to review their energy usage and consider solutions to mitigate these rising costs, including energy management consulting, efficiency improvements, and sustainability programs. "With energy costs soaring, companies must take proactive steps to control operational expenses while maintaining business continuity," said Colin King, of Hosted Telecom Solutions. "Our team is ready to assist Boston-area businesses with tailored technology and sustainability strategies to offset these substantial increases." Connected Digital Infrastructure Association

TIWA Rebrands as CDIA to Reflect Expanding Focus on Connected Digital Infrastructure. Watchung, NJ – March 2, 2026 – TIWA, The Inbuilding Wireless Association, today announced it is officially rebranding as CDIA – The Connected Digital Infrastructure Association, effective immediately. The move reflects the organization’s broader focus on the evolving digital infrastructure ecosystem serving commercial, corporate, and industrial real estate. The Association is owned by Fifth Gen Media, Inc. Rich Berliner, CEO of Fifth Gen Media, explained the strategic decision: “After extensive discussions with our Advisory Council and real estate leaders, it became clear that the industry has evolved beyond the narrow definition of inbuilding wireless. Today’s real estate stakeholders are thinking holistically about connectivity, integration, and digital infrastructure across their entire portfolio. CDIA better represents the full scope of technologies and partnerships shaping modern buildings and smart environments.” The rebrand acknowledges that digital infrastructure now encompasses wireless systems, fiber, IT integration, smart building technologies, data platforms, and the convergence of real estate and technology strategy. CDIA will maintain the core mission established under TIWA — fostering collaboration between digital infrastructure vendors, integrators, and commercial real estate decision-makers — while expanding its platform to support a broader range of stakeholders." This week, CDIA will debut its bimonthly publication, Digital Infrastructure Insights, delivering thought leadership and actionable perspectives for the connected infrastructure community. Developed with input from real estate executives, technology providers, IT leaders, and industry advisors, the publication will address marketplace trends, integration challenges, and emerging opportunities across the built environment. CDIA is a membership-based organization and is now welcoming industry leaders committed to advancing collaboration across the digital infrastructure landscape. Members gain access to curated real estate and vendor networks and strategic introductions including the newly formed Real Estate Advisory Council. Darlene Pope, a respected commercial real estate executive, will chair the Real Estate Advisory Council and will soon announce the inaugural group of CRE leaders serving in this role. Berliner added: “The demand for connected digital infrastructure is accelerating rapidly. CDIA represents the next phase of our evolution — moving beyond events to create a trusted, collaborative community where real estate and technology leaders can engage meaningfully, share insights, and shape the future of connected environments.” https://www.cdiausa.com/

Grateful for the invitation to participate in the #IWD2026 Women in AV AVIXA event. It was a thoughtful and engaging discussion, and I was pleased to contribute as part of the panel. Thank you to the organizers for bringing us together. I really appreciate the opportunity to give back and support this professional community #GivetoGain A few themes from our conversation that stayed with me: 🪄 Community is built through genuine investment, showing up, offering curiosity, and giving before anything comes back. 🪄 Leadership can be quiet and intentional, grounded in clarity, context, and creating space for others to grow. 🪄 Sharing knowledge is an act of confidence and #generosity, not a risk, none of us succeed alone. 🪄 And for young professionals: you will never feel 100% ready. Stay curious, build relationships, learn the culture, and above all, stay authentic. I look forward to continuing these important conversations and contributing wherever I can Marielle Crisanti Heather Best Jennifer Orton Marion Randell

The current CEO of Lumentum, Michael Hurlston, has been remarkably fortunate, regarding the timing of his selection as the leader, which also occurred with his stints at the two prior firms, Finisar and Synaptics. Early in all three tenures, there was a substantial increase in revenues, principally because of the long-term efforts, prior to him taking over the job. In the case of the latest corporation, at a minimum, the cyclical nature of the optics business itself, after a miserable prior calendar year, was helpful, along with other fortuitous occurrences (please see: https://lnkd.in/ewfPF_uS). With the first firm, Michael’s first quarterly earnings conference happened to be soon after which 3D sensing devices started shipping (please also see: https://lnkd.in/eeGeWV-u), and more importantly, he was able to report “record revenues…from 100-gig QSFP28 transceivers” (https://lnkd.in/eDQgfW-R). Despite the next quarterly outlook having a slight decline in revenues, it could hardly be called a beginning that was overly challenging. Of course, his predecessor could have easily saved his job by just getting over the aversion to purchasing Oclaro because of its comparable size to Finisar– not to mention that the future health of the entire optical components market would have turned out to be substantially better, given the combined corporate leadership. Concerning Synaptics, Michael’s first earnings call there had a positive beginning. (https://lnkd.in/edsUdVFn), followed by the next one with impressive results. Soon afterwards, there was the impact of the Covid pandemic, which was regrettably, unlucky for the entire world. So far with Lumentum, it is probably fair to say that Michael has done no harm, which is a substantial improvement from the previous top-level executives in charge. However, Lumentum has just started a blog (https://lnkd.in/ecn_yxbV) and the first article could be a red flag in that there is seemingly a continuing commitment to the deleterious concept of the cloud-networking platform (please see: https://lnkd.in/eph-eQqc).

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. At Start School today with Clint Betts at Silicon Slopes, Brian Beutler reminded everyone why Alianza isn’t just another telecom company — it’s the quiet infrastructure layer powering how the world connects. Brian Beutler isn’t just a founder—he’s a 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻. What struck me most wasn't the scale — 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲. Brian didn’t talk like a founder chasing momentum. He talked like someone who has spent decades building systems that cannot fail. There was a steadiness to him, the kind you only see in leaders who have carried real weight: global carriers, regulatory pressure, 24/7 uptime, and the responsibility of powering communication for millions. It made me realize that in telecom, ambition isn’t the differentiator — 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 is. Alianza is the communications core trusted by 19 of the top 20 global operators, deployed across 81 countries. Brian entered the market early, built a 600‑person engineering team, acquired Metaswitch Networks from Microsoft, and scaled a single codebase across 1,000+ service providers. Quietly. Consistently. Without theatrics. When I asked him a question that matters to anyone who’s ever had to rebuild themselves — "How do you find the strength to keep pushing forward when the world wants to define by your past mistakes?" — he didn’t hesitate. His answer was the kind of clarity only a founder operating at global‑infrastructure scale can give: “𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 𝗪𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀.” Then he added something every leader should hear: "𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲‑𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘂𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿." This wasn’t philosophy. This was operating doctrine — the same doctrine that allowed him to build the brand behind the brand for AT&T, BT Group, 𝗟𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻, 𝗩𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘁, 𝗫𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲, and hundreds more. For senior leaders, the message was unmistakable: 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗽. 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻. #SiliconSlopes #StartSchool #Telecom #Leadership #Infrastructure #Enterprise #Fintech #Banking #FounderMindset #Execution

#eSIM #TelecomInfrastructure #Connectivity #PlatformThinking #DigitalInfrastructure #FoundersPerspective #TelecomLeadership #FutureOfConnectivity >eSIM is no longer a feature. It’s core infrastructure. >Much like Cloud or Payments, the real winners will be the ones controlling the #SMDP+ #RSP >The shift is happening now: #Old Way: Resell connectivity, fight on price. #New Way: Own the stack, define the ecosystem.

Some key NG9-1-1 transition drivers are beginning to align. The FCC’s recent actions permitting copper retirement, coupled with the requirement to deliver 9‑1‑1 traffic in IP format upon request, are accelerating the shift away from legacy architectures. Amid these and other operational, policy, and marketplace dynamics, states and local ECCs are facing growing incentives to advance NG9-1-1 readiness. In that context, I noticed with interest AT&T’s announced offering of Transitional 9-1-1, which appears to reflect these converging developments. Taken together, these drivers point to a 2026 landscape where NG9‑1‑1 ESInet and core services rollouts may evolve in both pace and approach. Interested in how others are seeing this unfold.

MaiaEdge comes from some folks who have been very successful with a few previous startups. Now they are bringing a very disruptive approach to the market to free ISP providers from the bottlenecks they are experiencing to get connected to the global network. If you are an ISP that is looking for instant-on connectivity, secure connections and automated control of your NNI; let's talk.
