It is with a heavy heart that I share the unexpected passing of my colleague and dear friend of 14 years, Michael Walton. To our industry, he was a rockstar - the face of RateSpecial Interactive LLC and a leader who gave 100% to everything he put his mind to. To me, he was the brother I joked I must have had in another life. He was my family. Anyone who met Mike knows how truly special he is. He had a gift for making every single person he interacted feel valued and seen. He was unrelenting in his pursuit of excellence, but in the most genuine and kindest way possible. It's a rare thing in any career to find someone about whom everyone truly has only good things to say, but we can all attest that he was that person. I may have had a hand in his initial training when he first got started in our industry, but after almost a decade and a half of working side-by-side every single day, it was him that I admired, looked up to and learned so much from. He was resilient, authentic, infectiously positive, and showed me what it truly means to work and lead with heart. We were each other's sounding board, always had each other's back and we sure made one hell of a team together. Beyond professional life, he was the ultimate family man. His wife was his entire world from day 1 and he was an amazing dad that took so much pride in his children. We were there for each other through life's various milestones - from when we met our significant others, celebrated each other's weddings and grew our families. Many have asked how they can support his family during this unimaginably difficult time. We have set up a gofundme to support his wife and children as they navigate this loss. Rest in peace, bro.. Thank you for the memories, the laughs, the milestones and for 14 years of being the best teammate anyone could ask for.Donate to Honoring Mike’s Legacy — Support for His Family, organized by Joanna JardelezaDonate to Honoring Mike’s Legacy — Support for His Family, organized by Joanna Jardeleza

David Claussen reposted thisDavid Claussen reposted thisSTOP STRESSING! As if telling someone this actually helps. Here's a universal law. What you focus on grows. It defines your attitude, beliefs and negative assumptions around what you perceive to be true and how you think, without the facts to support it. Focusing on what you don't want stimulates the stress, worry and fear, which will then influence and shape your actions, behavior and ultimately, create the outcome you didn't want. Here are 13 questions to (self)-coach stress and shift your focus from assumptions, fear and scarcity to facts, positivity, pleasure, and what you want to create most, not what you don't. 1. Can you share with me what “stress” means to you? 2. If you can rewrite a definition of stress that's more empowering and positive, what would it sound like? 3. What worries are at the top of your list? 4. What’s the worst thing that could happen? Let’s walk through this scenario together. 5. How is this stress or fear impacting you/your life? 6. What’s the best-case scenario? 7. What would a stress-free life look like? 8. What assumptions, if any, are you making about what you're stressing over? 9. Is this something that IS happening or COULD happen? 10. Rather than focus on what you don’t want to happen, what can you do to create what you want to happen? 11. What makes you happy? 12. How can you shift your thinking from experiencing stress to experiencing inner-peace and happiness? 13. What process can you put in place the next time you feel/experience stress so you can manage it and use as your ally to shift your focus to where you want to be? #stress #fear #coaching #attitude #leadership

David Claussen liked thisDavid Claussen liked thisJust wrapped up a few days at POSSIBLE in Miami and if there’s one thing that’s clear, it’s that the industry isn’t slowing down, it’s sharpening its aim. A few takeaways that stood out: Search is still the gold standard. In a world obsessed with discovery, search remains undefeated when it comes to intent. When someone types, they mean it. That level of clarity continues to outperform across the board and no amount of flashy new channels has replaced that core truth. AI is finally connecting the dots. We’ve been talking about AI for years, but now it’s actually doing something meaningful, enhancing targeting, optimizing in real time, and bridging the gap between user intent and advertiser outcomes. It’s less about hype, more about execution. Signal > scale. The smartest players aren’t chasing volume, they’re doubling down on precision. Better data, better placements, better results. Efficiency is having a moment (again), and honestly, it looks good on everyone. And of course, a quick plug because it’s relevant 😏 At AdMedia, we’re right in the middle of this evolution. We manage direct search budgets for enterprise brands (where performance expectations are…let’s call them “non-negotiable”), and we’re rolling out AI-driven ad units for publishers that tie directly to keyword-level intent. Translation: ultra-targeted, high-converting placements that actually make sense for the user and the advertiser. Miami brought the energy, but the bigger story is where things are heading next, and it’s looking very intent-driven, very AI-powered, and very efficient. Let’s see who executes 👀

But what we hadn't done — until now... is build a formal way to put that engagement to work for the brands in our ecosystem. Today Optimism Intelligence launches with The Five Conversion Signals: Mapping Wellness Brand Choice — our first report drawn from 16 months of first-party behavioral data across 1.9 million actively engaged readers across All Healthy, Super Age, and AGEIST. A few findings stood out: - Consumers are reading an average of 11 articles before clicking their first product link. - 70% say they wait until a brand has proven itself before purchasing. -And consumers engaging with longevity content are clicking on products at meaningfully higher rates than those engaging with fitness or nutrition alone. The big takeaway? Wellness consumers are not impulsive. They are researching, comparing, learning, and waiting to trust the brands they buy from. For wellness brands, this matters. It means the path to purchase is longer than a single campaign. It means deep engagement is a stronger signal than broad reach. We put these insights together in our first Well-Being Index: The Five Conversion Signals Mapping Wellness Brand Choice You can download the full report in the comment below.

On Wednesday I’ll be in Chicago at the 2026 Masters of B2B Mindshare Summit hosting a peer-led roundtable on a topic that many B2B leaders are starting to grapple with: "Moving Beyond SEO to Master AEO, GEO and the Future of AI Discovery." For years, digital visibility was largely a question of SEO; optimizing websites so buyers could find you through search engines. But the discovery layer is changing quickly. Today buyers increasingly ask questions directly to AI-powered answer engines and generative systems, and soon AI agents will help complete tasks like product research, vendor comparison, and even purchasing. This means digital teams now need to think about four different optimization layers: • SEO (Search Engine Optimization) – ensuring your content ranks in traditional search results • AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) – structuring content so AI systems can extract and cite your answers • GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) – ensuring your brand and expertise appear in AI-generated responses • AIO (AI Agent Optimization) – preparing structured data, APIs, and product knowledge so AI agents can actually interact with and transact with your systems In short: Search engines help buyers find your website. Answer engines quote your expertise. Generative AI includes your brand in the conversation. AI agents may soon complete the transaction. For B2B manufacturers and distributors, this shift will fundamentally reshape how customers discover solutions and evaluate suppliers. At the roundtable we’ll explore questions like: • How is the B2B buying journey changing in an AI-first discovery environment? • What does AEO and GEO actually mean in practical terms? • How should digital, marketing, and eCommerce teams prepare now? Looking forward to a great discussion with peers in Chicago. If you’re attending the event, come join the conversation. Today at Portada Chicago, I had the opportunity to sit in on a panel exploring what cultural relevance really means in today’s landscape, and more importantly, what it demands of us as marketers and leaders. Cultural relevance isn’t something you add on to a plan. It’s something you build from the start with intention, empathy, and a deep understanding of the communities you’re trying to serve. It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about recognizing signals, respecting context, and showing up in ways that are meaningful while still driving business outcomes. Reach gets you seen. Cultural relevance gets you chosen.

Magnite has introduced pause ads into its SSP, now available to buy programmatically through ClearLine, major DSPs, and streaming partners, including DirecTV, Dish Media, and Fubo. This shift provides advertisers with access to a non-intrusive, obvious moment in the viewer's journey, when audiences are most attentive. With scalable inventory and emerging VAST standardization, pause ads will become a powerful addition to the programmatic toolkit. For brands, the opportunity is clear: diversify CTV campaigns, strengthen engagement, and drive ROI with a format built for today's streaming behaviors. I recently sat down with Forbes to discuss why the most underrated revenue opportunity in commerce media is hiding in plain sight: the checkout experience. Many brands see checkout as the finish line, but it’s actually a vital touchpoint for: 🔹 Driving incremental revenue: Post-purchase ads turn “thank you” pages into revenue-generating moments. 🔹Personalized engagement: Shoppers are already in a buying mindset, making them more receptive to relevant offers. 🔹Unlocking brand partnerships: Non-endemic ads allow retailers to diversify and generate new income streams. The best part? It doesn’t disrupt the customer experience—it enhances it. If you’re not monetizing the post-purchase moment, you’re leaving money on the table. Are you already tapping into this opportunity? How are you driving success post-purchase? I’d love to hear. Check out the full Forbes article: https://lnkd.in/eJuWnhks

Too often, agencies + publishers spread their sales reps thin across verticals. The result? Shallow co-op conversations.
