Emmy Rudolph Bush shared thisI just invested in Overtone, the new company from Hinge founder Justin McLeod. Overtone is building an #AI matchmaking service designed to get to know you deeply and introduce you to the people you're actually most compatible with. One of my favorite things to invest in is a great founder who has become completely obsessed with a problem. Justin has spent nearly 15 years thinking about one of the most universal problems there is: how do we help people find the right person? He built Hinge into one of the most important dating platforms in the world. Today, Hinge sets up a date every 2 seconds and it's behind roughly 1 in 10 engagements. He could have gone off and built almost anything. Instead, he decided the problem still wasn't solved. And I think he's right. Only about 30% of single people are actively using dating apps. Finding a partner is something a massive percentage of the population wants to do, yet most aren't actively using the primary technology we've built to help them do it. Maybe that's not a customer acquisition problem. Maybe it's a product problem. People are exhausted by swiping, matching, chatting, ghosting and starting over. One survey found that 78% of dating-app users experience burnout. So here's the question: if an AI matchmaker had a 60%+ chance of getting you to a first date with the very first person it matched you with, would you still swipe through dating apps? Overtone is betting that #AI gives us the opportunity to build something fundamentally different: get to know you deeply through voice and conversation, then use AI and relationship science to make a small number of highly curated introductions. No swiping. No endless feed. The opportunity isn't just to build a better dating app. It's to build something good enough that the people who gave up on dating apps want to come back. Great market. Major technology unlock. And a founder with about as much founder-market fit as you could ask for. Very excited to be an investor in Overtone and to see what Justin and the team build. #aimatchmaking #aidating #forthelove Justine “Magic Bean” Benanty

Emmy Rudolph Bush shared thisI don't wear a WHOOP, I personally use an Apple Watch... but let's talk about WHOOP heading toward an #IPO. The question I find much more interesting is: Could WHOOP eventually be worth $100 billion? It sounds aggressive. But I don't think it's an insane question. WHOOP raised $575M in March at a $10.1B valuation, nearly 3x its 2021 valuation. The company ended 2025 at a $1.1B bookings run rate, up 103% YoY, has more than 2.5M active members, and became operating cash-flow positive last year. CEO Will Ahmed has called an IPO the company's "next step." For some perspective, Garmin generated $7.25B in revenue in 2025, $1.88B in operating income, and today is worth roughly $59B. And it is still growing: Q2 2026 revenue increased 11% to a record $2.02B. So what would have to happen for WHOOP to become worth more than Garmin potentially $100B+? I don't think the answer is selling 10x more WHOOP bands. The answer is that WHOOP has to stop being a wearable company. The wearable becomes the sensor layer for something much bigger. WHOOP already measures sleep, recovery, cardiovascular strain and activity continuously. It has added ECG capabilities, blood-pressure insights and Pace of Aging. Advanced Labs now brings blood biomarkers into the same ecosystem. Now imagine where that goes over the next decade: Wearables + labs + medical records + genetics + nutrition + medications + imaging + AI. WHOOP becomes a continuously updating model of your body. It becomes: "Here is what is changing in your health, here is what is likely causing it, here is what may happen next, and here is what you should do about it." That's a fundamentally different company. The $100B version of WHOOP probably has several businesses sitting on top of the same health-data layer: the consumer subscription, diagnostics and labs, personalized AI health coaching, clinical care, employer health, insurance, pharmaceutical partnerships and potentially an ecosystem where third-party health services plug directly into WHOOP. At that point, the TAM isn't the wearable market. It's healthcare. And that's why I think WHOOP's eventual IPO will be fascinating. Public markets will initially have to decide whether WHOOP deserves to be valued like a hardware company, a subscription company, or a healthcare company. Garmin is already showing that a scaled hardware + software ecosystem can support a ~$60B valuation. For WHOOP to get to $100B, though, it has to prove something bigger: that the most valuable healthcare company of the future might not start with the doctor's office. It might start with the device collecting millions of data points from your body every year. WHOOP is worth ~$10B today. I'm very curious whether we're looking back in ten years thinking that was incredibly expensive, or incredibly cheap. Not an investor in the company, not a user of the product, just facinated by the space. The circuit board message is an elite touch.

Emmy Rudolph Bush shared thisChatGPT is adding ads. ...and could the way they're approaching it could make ads a lot less annoying. Right now, most digital advertising is basically some version of this: I look at a pair of running shoes, and then those shoes follow me around Instagram and the internet for the next two weeks. Half the time I've already bought them, decided I don't want them, or was never that interested in the first place. ChatGPT has a very different set of information to work with because it knows the context of the conversation I'm having and what I'm actually trying to do. Let's say I tell ChatGPT I'm looking for a very specific pair of running shoes in a women's 8.5. Maybe I've asked it to compare them to another pair, talked about what I'm training for, and eventually figured out exactly which ones I want. But they're sold out. That is a lot more useful information than knowing I visited a shoe website. The ads themselves will sit below ChatGPT's answer, clearly labeled as sponsored rather than being mixed into the actual response. OpenAI says the system can use the context and intent of the conversation to determine which ad is relevant. If you have ad personalization turned on, it can also use certain signals from your broader ChatGPT experience. So theoretically, the useful version of this is not showing me random running shoe ads for the next month. It's showing me something relevant to the exact thing I'm trying to accomplish, at the point when it could actually be useful. Maybe the shoes I wanted are available from another retailer. Maybe there's a comparable pair in stock. Eventually, maybe the exact pair comes back in stock and that's the moment the retailer wants to reach me. That's a much more interesting version of advertising. Google knows what I search for. Meta knows what I look at and engage with. ChatGPT potentially has a much deeper understanding of what I'm actually trying to accomplish. There are obviously privacy questions that come with that, although OpenAI says advertisers don't get access to your conversations, chat history, memories or personal details. The matching happens on OpenAI's side. But if they get this right, I actually think ads inside ChatGPT could feel less like being targeted and more like being shown something useful at the right time, which is probably what advertising was supposed to be in the first place.

Emmy Rudolph Bush shared thisThis might be one of the most important developments in wearables in a long time. Google and Ahmed Abdelhadi Metwally just announced that its watches will begin tracking insulin resistance trends, without a CGM or blood draw. Why does that matter? Because insulin resistance isn't just about diabetes. It's one of the earliest signs that the body's #metabolic machinery may be starting to struggle, and it's associated with everything from type #2diabetes and #fattyliver disease to cardiovascular risk. The remarkable part is that this process can be underway while someone feels completely healthy. The body can compensate by producing more insulin, keeping glucose in a seemingly normal range even as metabolic health is deteriorating. By the time the disease becomes obvious, the underlying biology may have been changing for years. What if we could see that change earlier? That's what makes this announcement so interesting. For the first generation of #wearables, the value proposition was basically: How many steps did I take? How did I sleep? What was my heart rate? The next generation is asking a fundamentally different question: Is something beginning to change inside my body? And Google isn't alone. WHOOP is bringing blood biomarkers and metabolic health into its platform. Dexcom and Abbott have made continuous glucose data accessible outside the doctor's office. ŌURA has shown the value of continuously tracking subtle physiological changes over time. Companies like Function Health (Mark Hyman, MD) and Levels are approaching the same fundamental problem from different directions: giving people access to much more continuous and comprehensive information about what's happening inside their bodies. Now Google is attempting to infer something as consequential as insulin resistance from sensors people are already wearing on their wrists. (Importantly, this isn't a diagnosis. Google's insulin resistance feature is positioned as a wellness indicator, not an FDA-cleared diagnostic tool.) But the direction this is heading is much bigger than any single feature. Google isn't putting a diabetes feature on a watch. It's taking a step toward making invisible metabolic change visible. The trajectory is becoming clear: Track behavior → measure physiology → detect change → predict risk → intervene earlier. The biggest breakthrough in wearables won't be measuring more things. It will be recognizing that something is beginning to go wrong before you feel sick. That's the shift from tracking health to actually protecting it. And it raises a fascinating question: Five years from now, what will your watch know about your health before you do?

Emmy Rudolph Bush shared thisI’ve believed in Function Health from the beginning because the vision was always much bigger than giving people better access to lab testing. The real opportunity is what happens when you follow human biology over time, before someone is sick, as things begin to change, and eventually when disease appears. That’s what makes this partnership with NYU Grossman School of Medicine so important. Function has built an extraordinary longitudinal view of people largely outside the traditional healthcare system. NYU brings decades of clinical data showing how disease actually develops and gets treated. Put those two datasets together, and you can start asking a much more interesting question: Can we see disease coming earlier than we do today? Cancer. Cognitive decline. Cardiometabolic disease. Not simply diagnosing them better, but identifying the signals before they become obvious. This is the direction I’ve always hoped healthcare would move: from episodic and reactive to continuous, predictive, and ultimately preventative. Huge milestone for Jonathan Swerdlin, Pranitha Patil, Mark Hyman, MD Seth Weisfeld Steve Martocci Nick Michlewicz Emi Gal and the entire Function team!Emmy Rudolph Bush shared thisThe future of health is being written right now. Many picture the wrong thing. When people hear "AI doctor," they think chatbot. A search bar with a bedside manner. That's not it. An AI doctor is a full stack — the testing, the imaging, the longitudinal data, the interface, the clinical judgment — and underneath all of it, intelligence that does not exist off the shelf. You cannot build a doctor out of a general-purpose language model. You have to build the intelligence itself. That's the work of Function's Medical Intelligence Lab: intelligence that holds an actual model of a human body moving through time. World models for human health. Today, Function Health is announcing a research partnership with NYU Grossman School of Medicine, part of NYU Langone, to accelerate exactly that. NYU Grossman holds one of the deepest longitudinal records anywhere of how illness unfolds and gets treated. Function holds broad multimodal longitudinal data across a large cross-section of the country — both before disease takes hold, and after. Together, this is the ground truth required to build models that see what nobody can currently see: cancer at its quietest signal, subtle changes in brain health, heart and metabolic risk flagged while there's still time to act. Peer-reviewed. Rigorous. Held to the highest standards. The future is unwritten. NYU and Function now have a pen. Long live humans. https://lnkd.in/drW2B7KGFunction Announces Partnership with NYU Grossman School of Medicine to Launch Landmark Research Aimed at Advancing Earlier Disease DetectionFunction Announces Partnership with NYU Grossman School of Medicine to Launch Landmark Research Aimed at Advancing Earlier Disease Detection

Emmy Rudolph Bush liked thisEmmy Rudolph Bush liked thisSerious question: what are you supposed to do with LinkedIn when you’re on maternity leave? I had a baby four weeks ago and I am trying — REALLY trying — to do the thing everyone tells you to do. Disconnect. Be present. Soak it all in. Don’t check email. Don’t think about work. Let other people handle it. I am incredibly lucky to have this time. I know that. I fought hard to make sure I could actually take it. And this is my fourth baby — and my last baby — so believe me when I say I know how fast it goes. I want to soak up every second of this little guy. But then there’s LinkedIn. Aplatform essentially built around the idea that we should never, ever stop having professional thoughts. Stay visible! Build your brand! Share what you’re learning! Engage with your network! Have smart thoughts and then turn those smart thoughts into content! Meanwhile, the current chaos in my brain is: feeding schedules, insane sports logistics, tummy time, a Mary Poppins nanny search, lice treatments, and whether I remembered to order more diapers and dried strawberries for snack tomorrow. I prepared the hell out of my maternity leave at work. I made plans. I handed things off. I tried to make sure no one needed me. But I didn’t have a plan for being “off” here. Do I disappear for four months? Keep posting about work while very intentionally not working? Turn maternity leave into a series of leadership lessons? (Please, God, no.) None of those feel right. Because I do like this place. I’m scrolling daily and want to contribute. And I have thoughts and opinions. They’re just not all about work right now. So that’s what you’re going to get … Maternity leave Amanda. Whatever is taking up space in my brain. Whatever I actually have something to say about. Paid leave, for sure — because I have LOTS of thoughts. Maybe some other things. Who knows. No content calendar. No attempt to make everything professionally relevant. No posting strategy. No idea what I’ll have to say next. I do, however, have approximately 1,001 pictures of this baby. And I mean … LOOK AT HIM. 😍

It was a fringe idea then, so was sobriety and wellness. But we sold out the first event at my favorite club, then off to the races. A year later Radha went all in and built a team, and after a seminal Burning Man trip, I left DC for a new life in NYC. I spent the next 10 years giving nights & weekends to this beautiful community project. The most fulfilling work of my life. I know because it (almost) never felt like work. More like service, an art project, or some prosocial revolution masking as a business. We made a million people smile. 1,000+ events. Countless sunrises in the most iconic spaces. The memory slideshow brings easy tears… scenes from the long story arcs of each event: community organizing, post-game brunches, the exhaustion, the hilarity of dramas and resolutions — somehow it always worked out for us. The relationships are the greatest gift… the most epic cast of characters across the world: producers, DJs, yogis, venue owners, and performing artists of every type. I’m so grateful for this tapestry of connections — thank you to all who said yes to our gregarious tactics of persuasion, you have a friend in me for life. No goodbyes, but this summer I transitioned from COO to advisor. It’s an exercise in ego death to walk away after a decade of my life, but I’m grateful for the rebirth, and confident the movement and team have never been stronger. And to Radha & Eli — Thank you for the best years of my life. For the invitation, the collaboration, the family, the partnership, the alchemy. It’s all been once in a lifetime. I’m in awe of the world we built and so grateful to you for carrying the torch forward as loving parents. Thank you, DAYBREAKER family. See you on a dance floor soon,

It's been quite the ride and I'm extremely proud of my small part in bringing home insurance options to people who wouldn't otherwise have them. When I announced that I was venturing out on my own, a lot of people took it as a shock. The truth is, I am meant for a much different path than the one I have been on. Not one that abandons marketing, but one that leaves behind big business. I'm not discounting the wonderful work I've been a part of with on any scale, but I am recognizing that it's not my place, no matter how great I am at it. The same things that made me fall in love with marketing 20 years ago are the same things I was always meant to pursue. I can tell you the exact day that I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I was 14 and volunteering with Epitaph Records at Vans Warped Tour. I was already heavily involved in street teams and my local scene, but being that experience changed it all for me. As I started building my career years later, I always hoped that I'd find my way back in the center of culture and community - and in some ways I did, but not how I'd dreamed of. But I think that same young gal would be pinching herself to see what I'm up to now. Admittedly, Guerrilla didn't just pop up overnight. I've been very lucky to have already been doing this freelance work here and there before taking it full time. I've gotten to work on absolute dream projects and support things I believe deeply in. And now I'm making this my livelihood. Thank you to everyone who has ever believed in me or taken a chance on me (ESPECIALLY Becca Powell - the support and stability you've given me over the years is something that I can never repay). One plant, many playbooks 📖 And it’s not just cannabis, this is 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀. Reposting this thoughtful piece by Mallory on why multi-state cannabis testing demands more than compliance, it requires real regulatory fluency. What she breaks down so clearly in cannabis is already echoing across the supplement and wellness industry: ✦ The FDA is tightening its lens on ingredient safety through new guidance on the New Dietary Ingredient Notification (NDIN) process. ✦ It’s launching a post-market chemical review framework for food and supplements, challenging manufacturers to prove ongoing safety. ✦ It recently began phasing out FD&C Red No. 3, a longtime food and supplement additive, after updated cancer risk concerns. ✦ It’s also reviewing the GRAS loophole, which may disrupt how ingredients have historically been self-affirmed without FDA oversight. State of Cannabis Pricing Q1 2026 is live. New data across tens of thousands of products shows a market that is not just discount-driven, but structurally compressed. Key signals: • Only a small share of products are discounted each week, yet discount depth reaches 30–50%+ • This creates a persistent market-wide price pressure, not seasonal promotions • Categories like CBD Capsules and CBD for Pets are showing extreme movements, pointing to clearance cycles rather than steady demand This is not anecdotal pricing behavior. It is based on a controlled weekly dataset built on fixed baselines, no smoothing, and consistent aggregation rules What stands out most: The market is fragmenting. Some categories are stabilizing, others are entering aggressive price compression phases. For operators, this affects margin strategy. For consumers, it changes when and how to buy. For media, it reframes how pricing trends should be reported. Germany’s cannabis imports, according to the latest figures from BfArM, nearly tripled in size in 2025, cementing it beyond any doubt as the engine behind Europe’s medical cannabis boom. Imports surpassed their already increased quota to hit 200 tonnes last year, up from just 72 tonnes in 2024, which was itself a record-breaking year. This blistering growth has attracted plenty of investment, including major acquisitions from leading North American operators, and medical cannabis companies from across the globe are scrambling to position themselves to make the most of this opportunity. According to Prohibition Partners’ forthcoming Global Cannabis Market Review 2026, Germany remains the largest medical cannabis market outside of North America, with estimated sales reaching nearly $1bn in 2025, a growth rate of 155% compared to 2024. However, the flood of products has, in turn, driven prices down, competition up, and raised real concerns about the sustainability of this boom. With many operators warning of oversupply and persistent pressure from the government to rein in the market, these concerns are legitimate. But not everyone is concerned. Some, including leading distributor Cansativa, see these dynamics as a temporary period of ‘normalisation’, a market correcting itself after a sustained period of rapid expansion. Benedikt Sons, who co-founded the company alongside his brother Jakob, told Business of Cannabis: “From our vantage point as Europe’s largest pharmaceutical cannabis distributor, we do not see structural oversupply. What we are witnessing is a normalisation phase in a rapidly institutionalising market.” https://lnkd.in/dbREYiuH

Why Multi-Niche Expertise is the Key to Cannabis Brand Longevity. In the cannabis space, the biggest threat to your brand isn't the competition—it’s the algorithm. One "shadowban" can erase years of organic growth in an instant. In my latest episode with Chiah Rodriques , Founder of Chaos Nature & Arcanna Flowers, we discuss a survival strategy that most creators overlook: Intertwining cannabis into established, authentic niches. 🛡️🌿 I’ve spent a decade building a personal brand rooted in motherhood, nutrition, and fitness. These aren't just "secondary topics"—they are the high-authority pillars that allow me to organically integrate cannabis into a larger wellness conversation without triggering platform red flags. Here were some strategic takeaways from our discussion 👇 1. The Multi-Niche Shield: How I use a "safe" expertise (like my nutrition, motherhood & wellness ) to provide an organic bridge to my audience, ensuring my content stays visible while others are being suppressed. 2. Strategic Intertwining: We discuss the art of making cannabis a part of a holistic lifestyle narrative rather than a standalone product. If it’s part of the lifestyle, it belongs in the feed. 3. Authenticity is the ultimate workaround to platform restrictions. Stop fighting the platforms and start building a brand architecture that can withstand the minefield. I’ve spent 10 years refining this 'Safe Harbor' strategy to protect my brand longevity. If you’re a creator or founder in a restricted niche, I’d love to hear your approach. Are you building a multi-niche shield, or are you still fighting the flags? 🛡️ #ContentStrategy #CannaWellness #BrandArchitecture #DigitalMarketing #FitnessCreator #Entrepreneurship #CreatorEconomy #SocialMediaStrategy

The cannabis industry continues to evolve beyond cultivation and retail. The real long term value is being built in infrastructure, supply chains, compliance, distribution, and disciplined capital allocation. Like any emerging market, volatility is part of the maturation process. The key is understanding structure, regulatory trends, and sustainable operators rather than reacting to headlines. Emerging industries reward patience, strategy, and informed positioning. #CannabisIndustry #AlternativeInvestments #MarketStrategy #CapitalAllocation #EmergingSectors #BusinessLeadership #IndustryInsights

When it comes to capital strategy in the cannabis industry, strategic investors are not simply seeking “exposure” to the sector. Instead, their focus is on acquiring specific capabilities—such as compliant supply chains, consistent quality standards, route-to-market leverage, and brands with the potential to expand across markets. In cannabis, the true test of strategy occurs after the deal closes. Integration challenges can arise due to state-by-state fragmentation, quality assurance failure modes, channel conflicts, and concerns about whether the operating system can scale without jeopardizing compliance or the brand itself. Three primary capital strategies are emerging within the industry: * Asset-heavy vertical integration * Pure brand licensing * Hybrid infrastructure platforms Each of these strategies has inherent strengths. Asset-Heavy Vertical Integration Asset-heavy vertical integration is a strategic approach centered on control and synergies across inputs, manufacturing, and distribution. However, this model concentrates regulatory and execution risks, and its effectiveness depends on maintaining a fully utilized footprint and a replicable playbook across different markets. Brand Licensing - (Admitted bias - The Clear Brands has embraced this strategy completely) Licensing offers a strategic advantage for brands looking to expand reach without owning every facility. This approach can deliver option value across various geographies, but it requires rigorous specifications, testing procedures, and partner governance to ensure the brand maintains its consistency everywhere. Hybrid Infrastructure Platforms Hybrid platforms are creating a “shared services” layer, including compliance, QA, manufacturing systems, and distribution standards that brands can connect to. This strategy is particularly appealing for bolt-on opportunities, provided the platform is truly interoperable and not just a standalone solution. The central question is not which model is currently popular, but which approach best reduces operational risk while preserving brand integrity. Ultimately, capital gravitates toward predictability, since repeatable returns depend on it. This principle is consistent across all consumer categories. From a strategic perspective, it’s vital to determine where to place the bet: should you own the assets, own the brand, or own the operating system? The right choice is the one that increases integration velocity while maintaining quality and regulatory durability. #theclearbrands #TWAXbyTheClear #TheClearEFX
