Lindsey Craft-Goins reacted on thisLindsey Craft-Goins reacted on thisA tribute to my beautiful son, Kaden Sean Moodley: Today, 18 August 2026, would have been my son Kaden’s 17th birthday. He passed away on 21 June 2026, Father’s Day, leaving behind a silence in our family that we can never recover from. We were blessed to have him for 16 years, 10 months, 3 days. I wish it could have been so much longer. Eight weeks since we bid farewell feels surreal right now. Grief does not come knocking gently; it kicks down the door. When you’ve lost a child as special as Kaden was, it feels like there is not enough oxygen left to breathe. This post on this platform is because a remarkable future leader didn’t get the chance to create his own LinkedIn profile; and to create awareness for the things that matter. Kaden was a mature young man with clear vision for the future he wanted yet he had this amazing capacity to find time to care for people young and old. His friends have shared with us how Kaden stood beside them during some of their darkest and most difficult times—friendship, support, and simply being there for them helped them through moments when they were struggling deeply. To hear a friend say that Kaden saved their life is something no parent can ever forget. Whilst he was providing counsel to others in need, he did it whilst he experienced his own struggles. He turned up and faced every difficult moment that was recently placed in front of him. I am so proud of my courageous son who taught me so much about facing one’s battles head on. Kaden was a curious and intellectually confident young man. He could hold his own in discussions with specialist doctors, engaging with them almost as a peer. He would question, challenge and explore ideas without being intimidated by the fact that he was speaking to people with years of professional experience. It wasn’t arrogance. It was curiosity. He genuinely wanted to understand things, and if he believed something was worth discussing, he was never afraid to ask difficult questions or express his own point of view. Our future entrepreneur wanted to build something meaningful and create opportunities for others. He was dismayed at the deteriorating conditions he saw around him and was vocal about the changes he would bring about when “one day he would run the government and change its priorities,” to put people in front of opportunity and focus on what’s important. He was immensely proud to be a citizen of South Africa and also Italy, his ambitions spanned both countries. He was my translator, and the ease with which he could interact and communicate in Italian with strangers in Italy always filled me with immense pride. Kaden’s journey was tragically cut short two months ago at just 16 but he understood something that many take a lifetime to discover: that success is not only about what we achieve for ourselves, but for others too. Missing you is like a raging fire in our hearts my beautiful boy Kaden. Dad, Mom & your little brother Evan.

While the reasons are my own, I want to emphasize that this decision is not a reflection of my experience here. In fact, the past year has been one of the most energizing and meaningful chapters of my career and life journey. Coming off Microsoft Start, I was reminded again of the extraordinary leadership, commitment, and culture that make this company special. The passion across Microsoft — and especially within Healthcare & Life Sciences — is unmatched. It has been a privilege to contribute to that momentum. I’m proud of what we accomplished together: strengthening Microsoft’s position across Healthcare Providers, MedTech and Life sciences, deepening strategic partnerships, elevating our customer impact, and helping shape the role of AI in healthcare. The acceleration we’re seeing — from clinical insights to operational transformation — is real, and I’m grateful to have played a part in solutions and strategies for the future. But above all, I’m grateful for the people. The HLS community is exceptional — employees, partners, and customers who care deeply about improving health outcomes and who bring purpose to every conversation. The relationships built here are ones I value immensely. This is not a goodbye note. It’s a note of gratitude and optimism. Healthcare has been my life’s work, and that commitment continues. I will remain a champion for this industry, for the people who drive it forward, and for the responsible use of AI to improve lives. My support for this mission remains unwavering. Indeed, patients are waiting. 🫶🏽

Lindsey Craft-Goins reacted on thisLindsey Craft-Goins reacted on thisAfter 22 years and two months with Microsoft, across four cities and two countries, I’ve decided it’s the right time to retire from the company, not necessarily everything. Today will be my last day. It feels strange to write that. I’ve been working in some capacity since I was 14, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place or better people to spend those years with. From living and working across two countries to visiting 29 more (plus plenty of transatlantic commuting), it’s now time to slow down, stay in one place for a while, and enjoy my British and French citizenships. In every role I held, I was challenged and supported to build, lead, and improve. From TAM in Retail to Program Leader in Offerings, Chief of Staff for WW Services Sales, UK EPG Sales Excellence Lead, TZ Delivery Enablement, Global Sales Enablement, and finally Unified Support RBL, there were consistent themes: world-class teamwork, creative innovation, people-first decisions, and a shared ambition to exceed expectations. As an openly gay leader, I’m especially proud of the work with GLEAM - both in the UK and globally - helping create more visibility, support, and opportunity for LGBTQI+ colleagues. I’ve been fortunate to have incredible backing from leadership, not only in my Microsoft journey but also in my external work with World Rugby and International Gay Rugby. That support has meant a great deal. I’ve been lucky to work with and learn from people of all backgrounds and perspectives. You’ve challenged me, supported me, and helped shape who I am today. There are way too many peers, leaders and people to thank individually, but, know I am eternally grateful. I’ll be taking some time until October to rest, travel, and spend time with my husband, Cyril, while continuing some volunteer work. After that, who knows? If you have ideas or want to collaborate, don’t hesitate to reach out. It’s been an honour and a privilege to be in such great company. As my French husband would say: “Ce n’est pas au revoir, c’est à bientôt.” See you around!

Lindsey Craft-Goins reacted on thisLindsey Craft-Goins reacted on thisOver the weekend, I graduated from the University of Cambridge - Global Executive MBA programmes at Cambridge as a member of its inaugural global executive cohort, a significant milestone at this pivotal moment in global business. We completed this two year journey during one of the most consequential technological transformations of our era: the emergence of artificial intelligence’s influence on science, technology, business, and society. Our cohort may be among the first generations of senior executives operating in a world where AI capability, compute infrastructure, and even token-per-watt-dollar consumption are emerging as strategic business metrics. One of the most meaningful components of the program for me was my Individual Research Project, which examined the role of artificial intelligence in accelerating nuclear fusion research and commercialization. The research explored how AI may contribute to scientific discovery workflows that could advance the development of fusion energy. I am deeply grateful to my project supervisor David Reiner - Professor of Energy Policy at the Cambridge Judge Business School for the thoughtful research guidance. I was especially honored to also receive adjunct supervision from my tutor Professor Andrew Blake - Vice President Clare Hall, University of Cambridge and insights from Professor Steven Cowley - Director, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) - both esteemed members of the Royal Society. Many thanks as well as to several industry executives who volunteered their time and fusion expertise to help shape the research in meaningful ways (NITENDRA SINGH ,Dave Humphreys, Richard Buttery ,Egemen Kolemen ,Jaydeep Deshpande ,Francesco A. Volpe ,Brian Berzin ,Puja Gupta) More broadly, I extend my sincere gratitude to Clare Hall, University of Cambridge for the enriching post-graduate experience, my classmates, professors, colleagues, friends, and especially my family, whose support made this journey memorable. Friends I've worked with and cherished over the years, made me feel special with such moving wishes that my cup overflows with gratitude❤️ I feel the years themselves don't mean much, unless there is true learning, strong relationships, business impact and personal growth. Here are a few of my learnings that I shared with my team, that may be relevant for others too. - Be TOUGH on the problems and KIND on the people. We can and will go farther together. - True differentiator of #Microsoft isn't the tech. It lies in the heart and diversity of lived experiences of the people that work here, that is poured into every little decision. Be it annual GIVE campaign where we donate millions to charities, or compostable cutlery in the food hall to promote sustainability, or how passionately we debate over age appropriate tech for young people. What we think and do everyday matters, and it makes a difference to millions of people who can't advocate for themselves. - Tech can address many problems in the society (it's why we work here) and so exciting that we can get to them faster with AI. But not all problems can be solved by tech. Starting from a place of humility, empathy and reading the proverbial room works better to land the message and in the long run. - No one can pour from an empty cup.
