After an energizing week at Cannes Lions, one thing was impossible to ignore: in a media landscape defined by fragmentation and transformation, culture and community remain the most consistent drivers of connection and growth. The TelevisaUnivision team showed up across 14+ stages – including Axios, Beet.TV, Ad Age, Stagwell Sport Beach, The Female Quotient – to highlight the ways we’re helping shape the next decade of brand-building. In every conversation, one question rose to the top: How are marketers REALLY showing up for the fastest-growing audience in America, and are they showing up in an authentic way that truly resonates with the community? Latino self-awareness is rising. Brand recognition is not. That’s the headline from the Hispanic Sentiment Study 2025, which launched in partnership with We Are All Human Foundation and Claudia Romo Edelman in Cannes. The data is clear: 77% of Latinos now recognize their positive contributions to American society—up from just 14% in 2018. Yet only 32.5% feel that brands reflect their values. This is the core tension of what we call the Recognition Recession—a disconnect between a community that’s more confident, capable, and economically vital than ever, and a marketplace that still too often overlooks or under-engages them. The business case is undeniable: $4.1 trillion in economic output—larger than the UK or India 70% of U.S. population growth 101% of labor force growth through 2033 Brands that treat Latino engagement as a once-a-year message or a DEI checkbox are already behind. The path forward is long-term, localized, and intentional—through cultural investment, co-creation, and in-language storytelling that respects the full reality of this audience. And there’s no better partner to lead that work than TelevisaUnivision.

Another week and another article in the media industry trade press exposing the same old story: opaque incremental deals, principal media, and holding groups monetising volume instead of value. https://lnkd.in/eaSmgxpu And let’s be honest — none of this is new. The ANA has been crystal clear: principal media thrives because legacy agencies act as principals, not agents, restricting transparency and prioritising their own margins and bundles over client outcomes . What is hard to understand is that the industry is still pretending to be surprised. 👉 Why are auditors, and pitch consultants still rewarding volume as if it were a proxy for quality? 👉 Why do they measure mainly new business wins and scale instead of the capability to activate innovation before. Volume is the raw material of arbitrage. It’s the fuel of intermediation. It’s the mechanism that allows dark deals and principal trading to flourish. If you value volume, you implicitly value the business model that produces these behaviours. So maybe the industry’s problem isn’t just the deals — it’s the metrics that keep validating them. When will we shift from measuring “how big” to measuring “how good”? When will we start valuing the capabilities that actually matter to advertisers — strategic talent, data maturity, ethical use of technology, real performance — instead of how much media an agency can push through its pipes? Until that happens, don’t expect change, expect demise, because the incentives are still pointed in the wrong direction.

The narrative is no longer about who has the best creative shop, but who is best at driving measurable business transformation—and Publicis' Q3 results, highlighted in this Storyboard18 article, confirm their strategy is paying off while competitors like WPP face declines. The Key Insight? Publicis is no longer an "advertising agency." The pivot is complete: The group's success is being fueled by a move to become a media-first organization. With nearly 60% of their revenue now coming from "Connected Media," they have cemented their position as a massive volume player. This growth is driven by one thing: AI and Data. Investments in platforms like Epsilon and AI-native acquisitions are creating a powerful flywheel for performance.
