Mitchell Martins-Collum shared thisProud to have been part of a team that just published research at Stripe. We just wrapped up a year of work studying something most people don't think about: how millions of workers around the world get paid, and what happens when their local currency can't be trusted. 🪙 Stablecoins sound like a crypto buzzword. In practice, they're just digital dollars. And for someone dealing with 40%+ inflation, or a currency that can lose value in a single month, having stable money isn't exciting, it's essential. There are still places where people show up with literal bags of cash to buy a house, because that's more reliable than their bank 😰. We surveyed 2,300+ independent workers in 20 countries to understand this problem for real, not from a headline. Proud of what the team put together. This is what "growing the GDP of the internet" actually looks like. Link to the full report in the comments. 👏 Siddharth Kulkarni Michaela Rhode Marcos D. Rivera, Ph.D.

Mitchell Martins-Collum shared thisAt Stripe Sessions this week, we announced some major upgrades to Stripe Treasury — nearly all of them coming directly from feedback. 🚀 Over the past year I've spoken with hundreds of startups and businesses all over the world about the challenges they face managing money: opening a business bank account, waiting days for access to funds, sending money globally, spinning up cards, and figuring out how to leverage AI agents to make it all easier. 🌍 The throughline from every single conversation was the same: "Why can't I just do this all on Stripe?" Well, we heard you. Meet your financial OS — Stripe Treasury. We can't wait to keep building it with you. 🙌 — Treasury runs on fiat and stablecoin rails and gives you everything you need to store, spend, and move money. This year we're adding: 💰 2% cashback on spending with the Stripe card, powered by Mastercard ⚡ Instant free transfers between businesses on Stripe 🌐 Global payouts to 160 countries (up from 50) 🪙 Stablecoin payouts to 250M Link users — no crypto wallet required on the receiving end 🤖 Agentic finance where AI agents move money, pay bills, or create and manage cards Treasury is live in 119 countries today, and we're working to add even more by end of year. 📈 The startups building the next generation of global businesses deserve a financial OS that moves as fast as they do. This is it. 🔗 Manage money with Treasury: https://lnkd.in/e9rk8Mag 📣 Everything we announced at Stripe Sessions: https://lnkd.in/eYMTuXYv

Mitchell Martins-Collum shared thisI've spent a good part of this year helping Stripe shape the future of global money management and storage. We heard from users about the challenges of stitching together multiple tools, waiting days (sometimes weeks) for money to settle, and the global costs of FX taking a toll on lean startup teams. We want to enable any business to be global from day 1, which was the original promise of the internet economy. Now, you can do it faster, easier, and cheaper all within Stripe!Mitchell Martins-Collum shared thisToday, we announced that you can now store funds in multiple currencies—including stablecoins—with Financial Accounts. 💱 Convert between currencies instantly ✉️ Send money to anyone globally with just their email 💳 Create virtual and physical spend cards (powered by Mastercard) to spend from your balance Now rolling out to US businesses in the Stripe Dashboard: https://lnkd.in/gvDrEsfC.

Mitchell Martins-Collum shared thisIt’s been fascinating to explore how global businesses manage multiple currencies today — stitching together tools, waiting days for funds to land, and manually reconciling fragmented flows. Mitchell Martins-Collum liked thisMitchell Martins-Collum liked this🚨 BREAKING: Open USD (OUSD) is live on Tempo with $400M+ in day-one liquidity. Businesses can mint and burn it at no cost through Coinbase, Stripe, Visa (VSP) and soon Mastercard. Open Standard announced OUSD in June as a stablecoin built and governed by 140+ companies, including Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, Coinbase and BlackRock. Today it's issued natively on Tempo, with liquidity across DEXs, stablecoin swaps and bridges. Businesses can use it for payments, payouts, operating balances and swaps into other stablecoins. On Tempo that comes with near-instant settlement, sub-cent network fees, opt-in privacy through Tempo Zones, and Earn on end-user balances rolling out soon. Most new stablecoins launch with thin liquidity and few ramps, then spend a year or two chasing both. OUSD starts with both because the companies behind it also run the ramps. If you're a business picking a stablecoin, ask who will mint and burn it at par, what that costs, and how much liquidity sits behind it. OUSD has day-one answers to all three. This will become the default way most companies settle with card networks in a few years. For certain. Supply and activity are public at ousd.fyi.

More than 18,000 platforms on Stripe power millions of small businesses and expanding their access to capital is central to our mission to grow the GDP of the internet. Parafin supports some of the largest platforms in the world, including DoorDash, Gusto, Jobber, and Mindbody, by providing credit offerings for their small business customers. Since 2020, Parafin has helped more than 60,000 businesses gain access to capital and invest in growth. Alongside its core capital offering, Parafin's complementary credit products give businesses more flexibility in how they manage cash flow. Only 41% of small business loan applications were approved in the US in 2025, a nine percentage point decrease from a decade earlier. Yet, we know firsthand how much access to capital matters: businesses that accepted Stripe Capital offers grew 27 percentage points faster than those that did not. Parafin will accelerate our efforts to expand revenue opportunities for platforms and help small businesses grow. Mitchell Martins-Collum liked thisWillingness to pay is one of the hardest questions in research. Now you can run Gabor-Granger in Listen Labs. Learn not only the optimal price for your product, but hear it alongside the why, the "yes, but only if", what they compare you to, and where they'd spend instead, all cut by your key segments. This is a big one! (and also… PM and haircut soft launch 🤠)Mitchell Martins-Collum liked thisExcited for this one: Pricing studies in Listen. Pricing is one of the highest-impact decisions a company makes. A pricing survey tells you what people would pay, but not why. Without the why, you know where demand drops, but you do not know what to change. We built a pricing methodology into Listen Labs that gives you both. It starts from Gabor-Granger: each buyer moves up and down a price ladder until you find the most they would pay. But Listen runs it as an interview, so every buyer also explains their answer. What made the price feel fair. What they would buy instead. What would have to change for them to pay more. You get the demand curve, and every point on it links to a real conversation. Jillian Graver breaks it down in the video:

Mitchell Martins-Collum liked thisMitchell Martins-Collum liked thisI was happily surprised to see a new stat from Stripe data: 55% of new Stripe integrations now involve some form of AI assistance. Better docs, integration blueprints, agent-friendly tooling. The time it takes to build a complete platform integration has dropped dramatically. And the quality of those integrations is going up, not down. The number of SaaS platforms building complete integrations on Stripe is up 180% year over year! More platforms are moving past experimentation and shipping the full capabilities their merchants actually need. AI is enabling platform businesses to build faster, and it’s also unlocking new tools for their merchants. We’re seeing platforms use AI to automate intake and scheduling, personalize outreach, prioritize collections, reduce fraud, and take action on behalf of merchants. https://lnkd.in/g55uqVkCSaaS platforms are surging despite the SaaSpocalypseSaaS platforms are surging despite the SaaSpocalypse
-
Mitchell Martins-Collum liked thisMitchell Martins-Collum liked thisThe SaaSpocalypse looks a lot less apocalyptic in the payments data. Markets erased close to $2T in enterprise software value in early 2026 on fears AI would eat SaaS. Valuations round-tripped, but did SaaS demand ever actually crack? We built the Stripe SaaS Index to find out. It's a weekly, same-business measure of pay-in volume across ~72,000 non-AI SaaS businesses. Here's what it shows: • Growth accelerated through the selloff; Y/Y is now above 30%, index ~4% above its pre-selloff trend • That growth holds across industries • Aggregate strength skews to larger firms Valuations are prospective, so medium-term effects may still surface. But so far the repricing says little about the demand SaaS businesses are actually seeing. And the strong acceleration of young SaaS companies in particular is likely a positive harbinger of SaaS over the medium term as well. Pay-in volume isn't an income statement; but it is a gross-demand barometer, and a much more timely one at that! Published and refreshed weekly: https://lnkd.in/g82_ataN

Hillstone Operating Systems Analysis and Consulting
In this team oriented project we created a system blueprint of Hillstone Restaurant and magnified an area of the business process that we believed could use improvement (such as the bottleneck). We did internal and external research to find the most problematic part of the system and then developed solid recommendations with forecasted data, sales, expenses and more and then pitched the recommendations to the restaurant.

🚨 This week, AI stopped assisting. It started executing. Here’s what actually changed: 👉 Agents can now run multi-step workflows on their own 👉 AI is updating CRM data (with permissions) 👉 AI activity is becoming auditable and governed 👉 Creative AI now has production-grade video controls 👉 ChatGPT monetization signals a shift in discovery 👉 AI workspaces are getting long-context + structured memory Translation: AI just moved from tool → operator. Most marketing teams are still using AI for: -Write copy -Summarise docs -Generate creatives Meanwhile, the stack is evolving into: -Execute tasks -Update systems -Monitor compliance -Run workflows That gap is where companies will win or bleed. The real lesson for Leaders: - Speed is no longer your edge. - System design is. If AI can act, you need: ✅ Clear workflows ✅ Permission boundaries ✅ Human-in-the-loop controls ✅ Teams trained on execution, not prompts Not doing this = silent operational risk. That’s AI Fluency. 🚀 I help companies build "AI Fluent Marketing" teams for faster execution and higher productivity. Comment or DM 'AI Fluency' to get started on your AI upskilling journey. P. S - Which AI Weekly update was the big shift for you?

Hooked on faster learning from your ads? Try testing one variable at a time. When you run multi-variable experiments, you can’t tell which change moved the needle. Was it the headline, the image, or the offer? That ambiguity slows optimization and muddies ROI. One-variable-at-a-time testing (OVAT) keeps experiments clean and actionable. Here’s why it works better for ad insights: - Clear attribution: Isolating a single element lets you see its true impact without confounding factors. - Faster learning: You iterate faster because you understand which change matters most, not which combination happened to perform well. - Consistent baselines: OVAT creates a stable baseline; you can compare new ideas against a known reference rather than an inconsistent mix. - Better resource planning: You allocate budget and time to the elements that actually move results, reducing waste. - Documentation and replication: A disciplined approach produces repeatable insights that teams can trust and scale. Practical tips to implement OVAT in your paid social: - Pick one variable per test (e.g., headline copy, primary image, call-to-action, or audience segment). - Change only that variable while keeping all others constant. - Run tests long enough to account for variability, but set predefined decision points to avoid analysis paralysis. - Use a consistent metric: CTR, ROAS, or conversion rate—whatever aligns with your objective. - Document every test: hypothesis, variable, result, interpretation, and next steps. A disciplined OVAT program doesn’t just improve ad performance—it builds a culture of evidence-based optimization. If you’re refining your creative testing strategy, I’d love to hear: which single variable has surprised you with its impact lately? #DigitalMarketing #AdTesting #PerformanceMarketing #GrowthHacking #ROI

I don't think AI has killed SaaS (yet) but I do wonder if it's killed "value-based pricing" I've been doing a lot of software shopping the last month, particularly in the conversational AI space, where there's a Cambrian explosion of vendors figuring out business models in real time. You can find it all: conversation-based, outcome-based, platform + usage-based, and tier-based tied to some specific platform feature. Overall, "value-based" is the framing I'm most allergic to these days. Time was, a vendor could win with a high sticker price by anchoring to the outcome or business impact the solution would drive. This is generally a sales best practice. But at a time where the line between build and buy grows ever thinner, when customers have built their own agents, understand inference costs, and have seen how thin some product wrappers actually are -- value-based feels untethered. The age of AI doesn't mean I'm going to build every tool in Claude Code. But higher buyer literacy DOES mean that the relationship between your sticker price and your underlying cost-of-goods-sold is going to get more scrutiny. I'm happy to rent your application layer (and the expertise it encodes) and pay a reasonable cost for maintenance and support. But charging a disproportionate premium that's not moored in variable costs like inference and compute seems increasingly hard to justify. If your pricing can't survive a conversation with a buyer who's been tinkering in Claude Code for six months, you have a problem.

Pricing models are changing quickly, especially with AI products where usage patterns evolve week to week. Today, we’re rolling out three capabilities that many teams have been asking for: - Seat-based credits - Packages - Account hierarchy Together, these make it easier to mix subscription and usage pricing, support PLG tiers without custom work, and handle more complex enterprise account structures without rebuilding your billing system. The reality is that pricing is no longer a one-time decision. It shifts as products mature and as customers learn what provides them value. Our goal is to make those adjustments much easier - without requiring engineering every time. 👇 See thread for the details.
