Recently, our VP of Life Enrichment, Ricky Ricardo Peña and team took five veterans connected to four centers we proudly support to the skies with Dream Flights to launch Service, Anew, our specialized rehabilitation program for veterans. Built to honor their stories and support their next mission, Service, anew brings a veteran-centered approach to recovery, connection, and renewed independence. Taking flight that day: ✈️ Joan Hober, Army veteran, Cambridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center ✈️ Edward “Ed” DeCamillis, Navy veteran and Petty Officer, and a former rehabilitation patient at Northampton Post Acute ✈️ Carmen Baccari, Army veteran, Laurel Brook Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center ✈️ Richard Rutkowski, Navy veteran, Willow Springs Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, joined by his wife for the experience ✈️ Henry Lynch, Marine Corps Sergeant, Willow Springs We’re grateful to Dream Flights for helping us launch Service, Anew in a way that celebrated the courage, sacrifice and stories of those who served. In a professional world often focused on titles, personal branding, and the bottom line, Dolly’s entire life was a masterclass in values that endure: 1. She never forgot where she came from. Growing up in a one-room cabin in the Great Smokies, she never hid or diluted her humble beginnings. She showed us that true confidence and authenticity come from owning your roots, not running from them. 2. Radical acceptance as a way of life. Long before inclusion was a corporate initiative, Dolly lived it naturally. She built bridges across cultures, generations, and viewpoints with open arms and zero judgment, proving that kindness is a strength, never a weakness. 3. Generosity that actually moved the needle.From mailing over 200 million free books to children worldwide through the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to quietly funding life-saving medical research, her success was never about accumulation—it was about service. Natalie Adis, MBA shared thisYou Know Your Body Best: Why Patient Advocacy—and Knowing You Aren’t Alone—Changes Everything 🎗️ Today is #ChronicDiseaseDay and this day each year is near and dear to me as for a long time, I tried to convince myself that what I was feeling was just anxiety. I thought the stress of life was just catching up to me. But my body was trying to tell me a different story. It started with a constant, heavy tightness in my shoulders, a stiff neck, an upper back that always felt bound up and at times a grip strength that was losing strength. Then came the sleepless nights—tossing and turning for hours, unable to find a single position where I could get comfortable and just *rest*. It wasn't just stress. Five years ago, I finally got answers when I was diagnosed with Cervical Stenosis by a compassionate Neurologist Dr. Rhee who took the time to listen to me and not dismiss my concerns. If you look at my life from the outside, you might not see the physical toll or the silent battles I face daily. By day, I’m leading our digital/social team and driving strategy at Marquis Health Consulting Services. By night, I’m a proud single mom raising my two beautiful, resilient girls Isabella Dautrich and Lizzy and living a beautiful life with my dedicated partner Annette Corson. But behind the scenes, there are still days when the nerve pain flares and overwhelming fatigue forces me to slow down, whether I like it or not. Living with this has completely rewritten my playbook. It has taught me: 💪 To advocate for yourself. This is so important: "only you know your body best" If something feels wrong, don't let it be dismissed. Keep pushing, keep asking questions, and trust your intuition. 🌅 To seize the day, always. When you know how precious a pain-free moment is, you don't take a single one for granted. 🙌🏽 To celebrate the good days. On the days I feel good, I make sure to truly live, laugh, and yes—dance whenever and wherever I can! 💃✨ Even if it means I may face a bit of pain later, dance for me is such a light in my life. 👂To listen with empathy. We never truly know the heavy lifting someone else is doing behind closed doors. When someone tells you they are struggling, listen to understand, not just to reply. We all have invisible battles we are navigating. If you are on your own journey today, please remember: you are not alone, you are incredibly resilient, and it is okay to go at your own pace. Thank you to Good Days for establishing this day and continuously advocating for our community. To everyone fighting their own silent battles—we are in this together.
