(a) completely algins on what they're trying to do do, and... (b) is clearly confident in the value of your solution... ...but still fails to buy becasue they doubt their own ability to implement that solution effectively. Bottom line, they're not skeptical of *your* value, they're skeptical of *their* ability to execute. But the result is still the same: Status Quo, indecision, stalled deals. As a supplier, in these situations, we typically fall back on customer testimonials, case studies, raving fans, and other proof points from similar companies realizing significant value by pursuing a similar path: "Look at all this value that others have already realized from following a similar path!" But the bottom line is, the customer doesn't doubt your credibility, or even your ability to execute. They just believe theat "they're different," and as a result, those kinds of results don't apply to them. This isn't a problem of customers' supplier confidence. It's a problem of customer's self-confidence. In The Framemaking Sale, we explore a number of steps sellers can take to frame customers' expectations, such that they *are* more confident.
