Tamara Fields shared thisYou can change course at any point in your career—and succeed at every stage of that journey. For more than two decades, I have worked at the intersection of government and technology, helping public sector organizations modernize operations, better serve constituents, and attract the talent needed to drive transformation. Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of serving as the US Public Service Lead. In that role, I have visited many state capitals across our nation, gaining a deep appreciation for the diversity and complexity of state government. I have also witnessed the incredible talent, innovation, forward-thinking solutions, and AI capabilities that Accenture brings to its clients. While I have truly enjoyed this role, there are times in our careers when we must make bold decisions that align both our professional aspirations and personal responsibilities. I am making such a move now and will be taking on a new role as the Client Account Lead for the State of Texas. My heart has always been in Texas. I love everything about this great state, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work where I live and serve the community where I was born and raised. I am equally thankful to continue contributing to the broader US Public Sector business, which now includes state and local, federal, and aerospace and defense which will fuel new connections and innovation. I believe public service is fundamental to the fabric of our society, and I have built my career around that belief. I look forward to partnering with the Texas team to help our clients deliver effective government services while contributing to the well-being of the communities they serve. Tamara Fields shared thisLearning and impact at the same time… This is how innovation happens…Tamara Fields shared thisGreat energy and conversation at MESC yesterday as Accenture, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Anthropic came together for our AI-Powered Rural Health Transformation workshop. We started with a simple challenge: The data states need to make critical rural health decisions often already exists. The hard part is bringing it together quickly enough to act. Together, we explored how agentic AI can work across fragmented data sources to help states understand Medicaid coverage risk, model HR1 impacts, and identify where RHTP investments could have the greatest impact. The workshop moved from the challenge to a hands-on demonstration, showing what’s possible when AI is applied to real public-sector decisions. What made the session especially valuable was the discussion. State leaders brought their own perspectives, questions, and real-world challenges, moving us beyond the technology itself and toward what this could mean in practice. A big thank you to our clients and partenrs, and to everyone who joined, participated in the exercises, and challenged the thinking. Tamara Fields shared thisAccenture #Austin Take Your Kids to Work Day is a reminder of why we do what we do. We opened our doors to the next generation and gave them a real look at the work that shapes the future. They wrote code, programmed drones, built and tested engineering designs, and turned themselves into a human piano. In our Shark Tank session, they pitched their own ideas with the kind of confidence and creativity that stops you in your tracks. They explored careers and talked through what they might want to be one day, matching their interests and strengths to the paths ahead. Then they packed Birthday in a Box kits for kids in our community who deserve a good day too. One of my favorite moments was our town hall, where kids and parents alike shared what they wanted to be when they grew up. It turns out we are all still dreaming, still curious, and still figuring out what is next. That is exactly the spirit we want in this building. Here is what I know for certain. The talent in that room was real. The curiosity was real. And the responsibility we have to invest in it is real. We are not just preparing kids to enter the workforce someday. We are showing them, right now, that they belong in these rooms and that what they build matters. Thank you to everyone who made this day happen. Tamara Fields shared thisPA ranks top-three nationally for AI readiness. It is clear that Pennsylvania has never been a Commonwealth that simply waits for change to happen. AI, workforce pressures, resident expectations, and community trust are all converging on this moment. AI is and will shape how we serve residents and communities. I fundamentally believe that AI augments human expertise. It does not replace it. The real opportunity is not workforce replacement. It's workforce augmentation. As AI takes on more of the repetitive, administrative, and information-intensive work, people can focus on what humans do best: judgment, problem-solving, decision-making, and serving constituents. Thank you to Harrisburg University and the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for allowing me to kick off PATechCon… I enjoyed speaking and learning together as we all navigate one of largest inflection points in our history… Here is to the next 250 years of technology innovation. Tamara Fields shared thisWe talk a lot about systems. Yet it is the people who keep them running that I admire most. On Thursday, I am thankful for the opportunity to provide the keynote at PA TechCon in Harrisburg, the premier annual gathering of Pennsylvania government leaders, industry professionals, technology enthusiasts, and thought leaders. After twenty-five plus years, I recognize that the hard part of government is not the technology but the trust, stewardship, and accountability for outcomes residents can actually feel. I am looking forward to being in a room with the Public servants who carry a weight most people never see, and carry it with great care and without ceremony. Thank you to Harrisburg University and the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for hosting us. Tamara Fields shared thisTechnology may be the profession, but service, relationships, and belief in others are what truly shape leaders and create lasting impact. I had an opportunity to lead a panel of 3 dynamic Texas State CIOs (Anh Selissen, Wendy Barron , Jamie McClanahan ) at TASSCC: Leading, Laughing, and Logging In. I appreciated how strongly each CIO connected their work to the mission of their agency. The passion for public service and stewardship came through clearly and reminded everyone in the room that technology leadership is ultimately about enabling outcomes that matter. One of the most refreshing aspects of the discussion was the genuine camaraderie among the three State CIOs. It was clear they are not only professional peers but true friends. The candor, humor, and mutual respect they brought to the conversation made the discussion feel authentic. They ribbed one another with joy, shared lessons learned with humility, and celebrated each other's accomplishments with sincere admiration. Having spent 25+ years serving public sector clients, I've always believed that public service is work that matters. It was energizing to hear leaders who share that same sense of calling and commitment to making a positive impact for the great State of Texas.
