Here in Dallas–Fort Worth, nearly 1.4 million neighbors are struggling to access enough food, including 1 in 4 children. That’s more than 506,000 kids across our metroplex who don’t know where their next meal will come from. Families in every ZIP code are being pushed into impossible choices. Housing costs remain high, gas prices have climbed 45% since January, and groceries are up nearly 30% since 2020—making it harder than ever to keep food on the table. Last year, the North Texas Food Bank and Tarrant Area Food Bank provided access to 186 million meals through more than a thousand partner pantries. But demand continues to rise, especially among children and seniors. This is a crisis we must confront together. From August 10–16 (with select restaurants participating during Preview Weekend and extending through Labor Day), every meal enjoyed at participating Dallas-area restaurants helps support North Texas Food Bank. Approximately 20% of the price of each meal purchased is donated to help provide nutritious meals for children, families, and seniors facing hunger across North Texas. Last year, DFW Restaurant Week raised $681,000 for North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope. As a proud supporter of the Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB), here’s a look at some of the great work they accomplished in 2025. • CTFB provided nearly 77 million pounds of food, or 64 million meals, to 775,000 individuals in 2025. • Feeding Futures School Pantry program expanded to 14 K–12 schools and 11 college campuses, increasing access to nutritious food for low income youth, young adults and families. • Existing healthcare partnership expanded to provide medically tailored meals to low income individuals living with chronic health conditions. • Culinary Training Program capacity expanded by 25%, to 12 students per cohort, enabling CTFB to prepare at least 16 more Central Texans each year for careers in the culinary industry.
