
According to the company’s latest annual report, Ambani opted to continue his decision taken during the COVID-19 pandemic to forgo all remuneration, including salary, allowances and other incentives.
Ambani, 67, has not taken any compensation since FY21. Prior to that, his annual pay had been voluntarily capped at ₹15 crore from FY09 to FY20. Though he continues to hold the top executive position at India’s most valuable company, he draws no monetary compensation.
With a net worth of $103.3 billion, Mukesh Ambani ranks as the 18th richest person in the world, as of August 7, 2025, according to Forbes.

Meanwhile, his three children, Isha Ambani Piramal, Akash Ambani, and Anant Ambani, who were inducted into the board in October 2023 as non-executive directors, each received ₹0.06 crore as sitting fee and ₹2.25 crore as commission for FY25.
Their total remuneration stood at ₹2.31 crore each, up slightly from ₹1.01 crore (₹0.04 crore sitting fee + ₹0.97 crore commission) received in FY24.
Other executive directors of the company saw their compensation remain largely steady. Nikhil R. Meswani and Hital R. Meswani were paid ₹25 crore each in FY25, comprising ₹7.28 crore in salary and perquisites, ₹0.44 crore in retiral benefits, and ₹17.28 crore in commission. P. M. S. Prasad earned ₹19.96 crore, including ₹19.37 crore in salary and perquisites and ₹0.59 crore in retiral benefits.

Nita Ambani, who stepped down from the board in August 2023, was paid ₹0.02 crore as sitting fee and ₹0.97 crore as commission for FY24. She does not feature in the FY25 remuneration list.
Reliance Industries, in which the Ambani family holds a 50.33% stake, declared a ₹10 per share dividend for FY24. Based on their 332.27 crore shares, this earned the family ₹3,322.7 crore in dividend income, despite the nil salary drawn by the chairman last year.
As of FY25, the tycoon and his three children own 6.44 lakh crore shares in RIL. The dividend record date for the last financial year has been set to August 14, 2025
Ambani’s compensation structure continues to reflect his stance on moderation in executive pay. The company's filing last year stated that “the company shall arrange to provide security to Ambani and his family members and the expenses borne by the company for the same shall not be considered as perquisites.”
