The centralised admission process for Class 11 in Maharashtra has now moved into a decisive phase, with the Education Department announcing a “Special Round” to address remaining vacancies and accommodate students who were unable to secure seats earlier, according an HT report.

This step follows the conclusion of the “Open to All” round and is aimed at ensuring that fresh candidates, supplementary examination pass-outs, and students seeking to correct application errors get a fair chance at admission for the 2025–26 academic year.

Fresh applications, corrections, & ATKT entries

According to the newly released schedule, the special round will run between August 15 and August 17.

During this period, eligible candidates will be able to register afresh, modify details in previously submitted applications, or, in the case of ATKT (Allowed To Keep Term) students, complete pending registrations, the media house reported. These students will also be required to fill out Part 2 of the application form to indicate their preferred higher secondary schools or junior colleges.

The Education Department has emphasised that this round is critical for those who either missed earlier deadlines or recently became eligible after passing supplementary examinations.

Officials are urging students to make use of this window without delay, warning that missing the stipulated period could mean forfeiting the opportunity to secure a seat in a college of choice.

    Seat allotment & reporting deadlines

The results of this special round will be published on August 19 at 11 a.m.

Once the allotment list is made public, students who have been assigned a seat must personally visit their designated school or junior college to complete the admission process. The reporting window will open at 1 p.m. on August 19 and close at 5 p.m. on August 20.

Authorities have advised parents, students, and school principals to strictly follow the timeline, as no extensions are planned.

The department has also reminded candidates that physical reporting is mandatory for admission confirmation, and any delay could lead to the seat being reassigned in subsequent rounds.
