    Back home in Kansas City, the energy is very high. Ahead of the game, Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks-Shaw and Councilman Darrell Curls helped get the day started by pouring red dye into the fountain at Mill Creek Park, right by Country Club Plaza, a spirited tradition to show support for the Chiefs, according to a report by KMBC.

    Parks-Shaw said, “Just so excited about this new season and what the Chiefs are going to do, how they're just going to take it back home again,” as quoted in the report.


    Even Curls said that, “I'm excited for the season. I'm excited for the city. I mean, you can tell the enthusiasm going around,” as quoted by KMBC.

    That enthusiasm was on full display at the park, where fans gathered with the Rumble Band, KC Wolf, and the Chiefs cheerleaders to celebrate the start of the season, as per the KMBC report.

    In the crowd was Samara Chambers, who was proudly cheering her team, as she said, “I'm pretty excited. They're gonna... our boys are gonna bring it home today,” as quoted in the report.

    Chris Brown, known to fans as “Almost Andy” joked that, “I'm actually still here for the free donuts. I'll fly later. Because free is the best. Think about that,” as quoted by KMBC.
