Instead, he might be found riding a scooter through the lanes of Jiaganj in Murshidabad, West Bengal. For many, he's the voice behind countless soulful songs, but to those who admire him closely, he’s something more. His grounded lifestyle, far from the spotlight of Mumbai, continues to fascinate not just fans but also fellow musicians. One such admirer is singer-composer Tony Kakkar.

    Tony, best known for peppy chartbusters and founding the music label Desi Music Factory, once opened up in an interview about his deep admiration for Arijit. Calling him his “spiritual guru,” Tony spoke about how Arijit's way of living is something truly rare in today’s world. In an old interview with RealHit, he said, "Woh gaon mein baithe hue hai, duniya rule kar rahe hai,” describing how Arijit manages to influence the entire music industry while living far from the chaos of showbiz.


    According to Tony, he's still young, but many people can learn from him, which makes him a true guru. In fact, I consider him a spiritual guru because the way he lives his life offers valuable lessons."

    Tony praised the singer’s decision to live a simple life in his hometown Jiaganj, where Arijit has even enrolled his children in a local school. He added that the singer’s quiet lifestyle teaches an important lesson, one doesn’t need to chase the limelight to be successful. “Itne talented ho jao ki door se log bolein bhai, waha se record karke bhej do,” Tony said, stating how Arijit’s talent alone speaks for him, no promotions or appearances required.

    Tony Kakkar’s own journey has been a unique one. He started singing at local jagratas in Delhi with his sisters Neha and Sonu Kakkar after their family moved from Rishikesh in the 1990s. In 2004, he shifted to Mumbai and began learning the technical side of music. From working as a lyricist for Sandeep Chowta to composing the popular track Sawan Aaya Hai (sung by Arijit), Tony slowly carved his space in the industry. In 2015, he co-founded Desi Music Factory with Anshul Garg, producing several hit tracks.

    Despite being part of this music industry, Tony’s admiration for Arijit Singh shows a longing for simplicity and purpose. In his words, “Woh best hai… zindagi ko jis tarah se lead karte hai, woh seekhne waali baat hai.” For Tony, and many others, Arijit Singh is more than a singer. He is an inspiration to many.
