    Hero MotoCorp appoints Harshavardhan Chitale as CEO

    Hero MotoCorp has a new Chief Executive Officer. Harshavardhan Chitale is the new CEO. He has over three decades of global leadership experience. Chitale previously served as Global CEO of Signify’s Professional Business. Vikram Kasbekar, the Acting CEO, will remain on the board. He will serve as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer.

    Hero MotoCorp on Monday announced the appointment of Harshavardhan Chitale as the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

    The company said that the office of the Acting Chief Executive Officer held by Vikram Kasbekar has been relinquished and he will continue to serve on the board of Hero MotoCorp as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer.

    Chitale brings with him more than three decades of global leadership across B2B and B2C sectors. He has an expertise in industrial automation, lighting, information technology services, and digital transformation.


    Chitale has successfully led large publicly listed and multinational corporations, driving growth, profitability, and organisational renewal across India, the US, and Europe, the company said.

    Most recently, he served as Global CEO of Signify’s 4 billion euros Professional Business, leading 12,000 employees across 70 countries and spearheading manufacturing, supply chain, product development, and digital initiatives.

    Earlier, as Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Philips Lighting India, he executed its spin-off into a standalone public company and consolidated clear market leadership.

    He has also held top leadership roles at HCL Infosystems and Honeywell Automation India, delivering transformative growth and shareholder value.

    Chitale is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and recipient of the Director’s Gold Medal. He is also an active angel investor in EVs, clean energy, health-tech, and agri-tech.
