Aamir Khan once tried to launch his brother Faisal. Despite being an ambitious project which took four years to produce, their film Mela proved to be a box-office disaster.
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan once made a determined effort to introduce his younger brother, Faisal Khan, into mainstream cinema. The project, an ambitious film titled Mela, took nearly four years to complete. However, despite high expectations, the movie failed commercially, becoming a major box-office disappointment. This setback marked the end of Faisal’s prospects as a leading actor, and his career never truly recovered.

    Continued Financial Support from Aamir

In a candid conversation with Pinkvilla, Faisal shared that Aamir has consistently provided him with financial assistance over the years, even offering him a monthly allowance. He resides in one of the family-owned apartments located in Mumbai’s upscale Pali Hill area. While there is continued support from his brother, Faisal explained that their personal relationship has not been without turbulence.

Allegations of Confinement and Forced Medication

During the same interview, Faisal alleged that he had once been confined within Aamir’s residence for a full year. He claimed that during this period, he was administered medication against his will, under the justification that he was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. Faisal described the situation as feeling trapped in a chakravyuh—a complex, inescapable web—where his entire family seemed to be united against him. This experience, he said, deeply affected his mental well-being and created a lasting rift with his relatives, who he alleged controlled his movements and medical treatment.

    Physical Impact of Unnecessary Medication

Faisal told Pinkvilla that the medication had severe side effects on his body, causing him to gain weight until he reached 103 kilograms. He maintained that the treatment was unnecessary and ultimately harmful, making it even more challenging for him to maintain a presence in the film industry.

Claims of Control Over Finances and Legal Matters

The actor further accused Aamir of exercising complete control over his financial and legal decisions during this time. Faisal alleged that he was not allowed to leave the house, with a security guard stationed outside his room to monitor his movements. According to him, the situation escalated when his mother and sister filed a case declaring him a danger to society, which brought the police into the matter.

“Aamir took control of all my financial and legal decisions… I wasn’t allowed outside. A bodyguard was stationed outside my room," he said

    Who Is Faisal Khan?

Faisal Khan is an Indian film actor and the younger sibling of superstar Aamir Khan. Beginning his career as a child artist, he gained recognition for roles in Madhosh (1994) and Mela (2000), where he played Shankar Shane. However, repeated box-office failures and a highly publicised dispute with his family during 2007–2008 overshadowed his acting journey.
