Ever had to do an overnighter in Bangkok between flights? Accomodation options, apart from airside lounges, are limited to the Novotel at approx usd $200 for a standard room OR any of the budget offerings in nearby suburbs, approx 2 or 3 kms away. Some of those options look great in the photos, likely taken 30 years ago so beware, read the reviews carefully. There are sleep capsules on the basement level of the airport but they would not suit most travellers and are priced for short naps. One solution ..... take the Airport train from the basement level to Makassan station, 35 baht each way and takes approx 25 minutes. Exit the station and cross over tow…

I assume most would say price..... Mine, without a doubt, is to see if there are decent food stalls for my wife to walk to! :) I will find a hotel I like, then have to do a Google street view/maps and "walk" around the area looking at the food stalls :)

Whether you’re travelling to Thailand for business or leisure, it’s always great to know a little bit of the local language. Learning basic Thai phrases means showing effort and respect to the local culture. It will help ease interactions between you and the locals, making your trip a lot easier and enjoyable. Since Thai is a tonal language, it can be challenging to learn. You’re likely going to make mistakes at first, but don’t let that discourage you. Even if you pronounce something wrong, most locals will still appreciate your effort and may even help you pronounce it the right […] The story Useful Thai phrases for an amazing trip in Thailand as seen on Thaiger News. …

Are there any restrictions on Domestic Travel in Thailand now in June 2022. Particularly going Phuket -> Bangkok and back to Phuket again? It's still a bit blur if you need to do any registration to travel or not? Thanks for any input from any of you that recently traveled.

Nothing leaves a poor memory of a great holiday than being blatantly ripped off by a taxi driver. I got picked up at The Landmark on Sukhumvit at 5:00AM this morning. I asked why his meter was cover over and the availability light stayed green. He muttered something in Thai then said "No English" repeatedly. I should of got out then but did not want to be late for my flight. Then he proceeded to drive at between 120-150kmh constantly, even in the 90 zones. I asked him to slow down but again "No English". Got to the airport where he demanded 500 Baht. I threw 300 at him and things got heated. So I called security. All of a sudden he accepted my more than generous offer. I …

There's a lot on international travel to Thailand and the Sandboxes, at latest in today's article “Sandboxers” can travel to specified islands and beaches after 7 days in Phuket But how exactly would domestic travel apply to this article, in terms of travelling to the Sandboxes, and quarantine etc? I.e. a Bangkokian with 1 vaccine shot vs. fully vaccinated? We are many in the city starving for travelling, so just a little more clarity on the domestic would in general be very welcome:)

Hi All, New member to the forum here. I'm looking to travel to Samui in early October for my 40th. I understand that rules are constantly changing but as of today (Sep 9th), what are the restriction to fly to Samui coming from Bangkok? Negative pcr, health declaration form, the tracking app, anything else? Is being fully vaccinated required? Thanks

Greetings all. When we eventually do make a trip - trying to determine the best route based on the places the wife and I want to see. Assuming things are relatively normal (no sandbox, BKK open) we would like to do Bangkok, Phuket, Hua Hin, Koh Samui and end in Bangkok to head home. I'm just not certain on the islands route mostly. Phuket to Hua Hin, then Koh Samui? Or Phuket to Koh Samui, then Hua Hin? Are there any places along these routes we may want to stop at on the way? Some ideas were Krabi, Chumphon, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Thanks!

I'm looking to go somewhere for a week or so. Who knows how to get to Krabi, Koh Samui, Koh Chang or Hua Hin? Are there any restrictions for fully vaccinated people? Is anything else needed other than the Mor Phrom app? Does anyone have experience with traveling within the last month or knows about the rules per province, who can also give a clear up to date explanation?

Hi all, new to this sort of thing. ( forums). Considering the current covid situ and at least a ban on Interprovincial public transport travel, my question is regarding how it is possible and legal to travel from Kanchanaburi province to Bangkok to renew my son's passport, his mother has become surprisingly uncooperative to the point of being counter productive hence the need for a little help, thank you.
