This excerpt comes from a Sam Chui article (scroll down) > https://samchui.com/2022/07/15/data-on-airport-delays-avoid-these-airports-and-airlines/#.YtD7nexBzlw The Montreal Convention is the oldest treaty created to protect passengers’ rights and it applies to most international flights. Passengers are eligible for up to EUR 1,400 for damages suffered as a result of lost or destroyed luggage. However, it may take a very long time to get airlines to pay up as there are so many cases filed. In the U.S., …

He folks. I have been asked many times by friends and acquaintances, my views following the crash of Air India 171 and the safety implications for the B787. As I flew Boeings and was a past fan of the manufacturer, its understandable that people would ask me. The internet, and especially U Tube, is inundated with pilots expressing their opinion on the cause of the accident. Its all largely uninformed speculation and I don't intend to express any opinion on that particular accident, bar saying, always pick your airline carefully, for lots of reasons. As to the B787. It is a very safe aircraft, with a long history of reliability. It is powered, by two of the most p…

The Thaiger headline reads : "STARLUX Airlines to launch LA and San Francisco to Chiang Mai flights". I saw that and said; "wow, sign me up!" But nowhere in the article does it explain that these flights involve a connection in Taipei. The article should have stated that Starlux is launching flights between Chaing Mai and Taipei, in competition with EVA, China Airlines , and Air Asia. It's great to have more choices at the Chiang Mai airport, but the suggestion of nonstop flights between Chiang Mai and North America is ludicrous.

If this seating configuration ever took off, excuse the pun, It would signal the end of centre overhead stowage bins although a small space is available under each seat > Headroom on outboard sides limits use to centre row only and permits full leg room on the lower level and a lie-flat option above. Chiang Mai Air Force Museum is located at Chiang Mai International Airport and home to numerous planes from WWII as well some recent models from the Thai Royal Air Force. The museum also features a number of World War II-era Japanese aircraft, providing a unique opportunity to see the planes used by the Axis powers in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Some of the more interesting aircraft on display are: Douglas C-47, Japanese Nakajima B5N “Kate”, North American T6, T-28s, Tiger Moth, there are lot of interesting aircraft here all in different state of repair.

Sam Chui explains this video - well worth watching just for the smiles alone! > Hello from Baku, Azerbaijan. This week, I am flying on Silkway West B747-8 Freighter from Baku to Amsterdam. The B747-8F is fully loaded with 120 tons of cargo with takeoff weight of over 400 tons! Before the flight, Samir from Silk Way Group gave me a special tour of the modern cargo facility in Baku, which features an automated cargo crane system and a dedicated large cold storage warehouse. Silk Way West currently operates 12 B747 Freighters in the fleet. The ramp at Baku was buzzing with activities. Inside the Boeing 747, I met with Captain Rasim, who showed me the advanc…

This is to alert you all to what we suspect is a very deceptive practice of Air Asia. And, seems like Min of Tourism, Civil Aviation or even the Tax department are ignorant or pretending. On Nov 19th, my husband and I booked on Air Asia site ( Big member since 2017) from Bangkok to Phuket for Dec 19, 2021. We selected the first flight out – which was on Thai Lion Air and return flight on Air Asia for Dec 28th. However, we received an email on Nov 20th and again on Nov 22, saying the airline has cancelled the flight. And to their site to refund or reschedule. SO we went online to their AVA bot service. Then the deception began to appear. First AVA did not reco…

Today in a statement issued by the airline, Qatar Airways has mentioned that they have, following the explicit written instruction of its regulator, now grounded thirteen Airbus A350 aircraft; effectively removing them from service, until such time as the root cause can be established and a …

The purchase of A340's was mired in corruption and unsound fleet management which helped put more than a few nails in TG's coffin. This story contains no criticism, just facts, and makes for interesting reading all the way to last para. https://simpleflying.com/thai-airways-airbus-a340-story/

Several years ago there was an open wasteland in the suburbs of Bangkok that was home to an assortment of deteriorating aircraft and is referred to as the Airplane Graveyard. The address is 594 Ramkhamhaeng Road/Ramkamahaeng soi 103 and close by there is a large apartment block called Assakarn Place Condominium. Mystery surrounds how the aircraft got here as there are no airports close by. Is this wasteland still there with Aircraft?
