Our salon is in Dumfries Scotland. The word "Thai" appears in the name of the Salon. Time and time again, men phone up asking for extras, HE, HJob etc. For some reason, they associate the word "Thai" with sexual favours or services, and expect every Thai Masseuse or therapist is going to be happy with, and fulfil such a request. For me, this is racism, the association of "Thai" with sexual acts. Do British / Western men think that all Thai women are the same? How should we feel about those who give Thai women a bad name by offering these services ? I'm not sure it's necessarily their fault, but rather the fault of the Men who are supposedly better educated, and should rea…

I just came from reading posts on thaivisa and I have to say do any these posters there actually live in Thailand ? As per usual the amount of anti- thai posts, attacks on Thailand, and the vitriol hate speech overshowed any thoughtful comments. So I am going to tell you that foreigners are getting vaccinated and if you read different it's propaganda. I had my first jab yesterday and was given this second appointment for September.

Hello! After several web searches all I get is vague information. Does anyone know of a place that does eye exams and makes new prescription eye glasses? Even Central Plaza Mall does not list the names of their stores inside. Thanks!

Hi, i have a question about general health care for Thai citizens. I know free (30 baht) healthcare is provided for general population. But can a citizen choose the clinic they want to visit or does it have to be the local clinic? For instance if they want to see a doctor when not staying in their home area? Is there a free choice between all the clinics within the 30 baht programme?

I have a history of sun- caused benign localized removed Skin Cancer on my back, back of hands & legs since 2017. I was therefore unsurprised when a new itchy hard lesion bump (weirdly shaped like an alien moon base !) formed on top of my scalp recently even though my only sustained sun exposure is during Pool swimming. Refused to heal naturally so finally after two months took action. Local Doctor Clinic gave Useless Cream. I am aged 65 in near perfect Health with no conditions. Diet & Exercise fan.Never been seriously ill or injured with zero in -patient record. Wanting to avoid an inflated 20k baht type uninsured private hospital bill, (havi…

Hoping someone might know about this, given its apparent commonality among Thai ladies My Thai girlfirend is regularly going to a dermatologist in Surat to get treatment for dark patches and spots (I'd call them freckles). Its not something that bothers me, but I can see how it bothers here. Its not clear if this is due to melasma, which is something some ladies get after pregnancy, or sun exposure, or overuse of steroid-based whitening creams. I get 3 different versions. The treatment is a course of 3 sessions of laser treatment, some sort of cold cream and injections with transexemic acid. 3 sessions costs her 8000 Baht. It took a while for me to f…

Hi everyone, I have a question about medication, obviously, the title 😆 What's it like trying to get your UK prescribed medication in Thailand. I'm moving to Thailand early 2023, Currently I have a few tablets that I have to take for, let’s just say "Health reasons". How would I go about getting the same meds?. Is it just a matter of taking a prescription to a Pharmacy or Doctors? How much are they compared to the UK? I don't want to know what you're taking or why it's just a general question.

Can anyone help regarding testing domestic water quality please? After the recent flooding a few weeks back, it seems logical that some of the water has entered the underground domestic tank beneath my home, through the surface manhole cover. Of course the water is never used for personal consumption but its a concern not knowing if the contents are contaminated and what action to take? I have been told that emptying the tank could risk damage to the fabric of the tank and being underground and of course in the worst possible position I dont wont to risk that. Best regards to all. J.

About 5 weeks ago was at a mates house who was refilling his pool. I wasn't aware quite how close I was and ended up falling to the floor, then falling into the empty pool... Just like Hollywood! ;) (except I'm no stuntman).. To say I got lucky to just walk away is understatement. I was told it was quite a sight to behold!!! Went to ER that night to see if I'd broken any ribs - nope. 5 weeks later my shoulder (where I landed) is still extremely painful, haven't had a good nights sleep, and Advil won't touch the pain. Need to get it sorted, but don't really trust traditional doctors in Bumrungrad etc as they never seem to take the time to really lo…

After living here for a few years, and occasionally having to access health care in Thai international hospitals, It struck me that you need a reasonable level of background medical, heath care and pharmaceutical knowledge, if you want to avoid getting Royally ripped off. Examples. know the difference between an X Ray, MRI scan and CT scan, they often try to sell you all three when only one is the appropriate one for your suspected condition. Always check contra indication and side effects for the medication they give you , or try to give you, they are not good at telling you . Google is good for that info. If they come at you with a syringe, know exactly what's in it…

I haven't said much online about contracting acute cholecystitis from a gallstone and, in the course of diagnosing that, finding a mass on a kidney. I figured I'd share what I experienced with the expat community in hopes that it might be helpful for others in similar situations. I first started having these "stomach attacks" in mid-November last year. At the time, my wife, Em, was stuck in the USA, visiting two of her kids who moved to Colorado with their dad about 7 or 8 years ago. We agreed that she should go spend a portion of the next couple of years there until her youngest son graduates high school. When she left in August, I had only been living in Thailand f…

Looking for a Naturist discussion forum for men ( gay or otherwise). Is there one here in Thailand or is there any way to start such a forum for the exchange of Naturist news around the country, the exchange of Naturist photos and the opportunity to make friends with other like minded men. I know and support the basic concept that Naturism, especially social Naturism, is non-sexual and with that in mind, sexual orientation should not matter. But in the real straight world, and I have experienced this as a lifelong Naturist here in Thailand, getting along with and socializing with naked straight couples is even more difficult and intimidating than such an activity mig…
