Question: If Jesus Christ, or the Buddha, or any such historical messiah came to earth today and granted you a personal, private audience would you: A: ask him to tell you what you want to hear? or B: listen to what he had to say? Now that's a profound question, is it not? It's been said that if Jesus Christ were to reappear in the world today and began to speak the truth he'd be nailed back up on the Cross in a New York minute. The first in line would probably be the Christians, too. For starters I just want to get people's input to the question to see where they stand on hearing ideas which may contradict what they firmly, adamantl…

Is this forum now 5 people talking to (at) each other, with the occasional, and even rare, intervention from another 3, or possibly 4, or am I being a tiny bit bit mischievous?

Just decided to post this, as a statement of feeling, of an immense disappointment in what the UK has become, in frustration that my 24 years of UK Military Service has effectively been trashed by the political class and inept Civil Servants. The latest cowardice by the UK government and the pathetic lack of an effective Military response to the Iranian attacks on Cyprus. I am embarrassed to be British right now, embarrassed and angry to be associated with such a pathetic country, unable to take care of itself and slipping into international irrelevance. Even the French and the Greeks are showing us up. The UK government trumpet that an RAF F35 shot down an Iranian dron…

Okay, all of you guys with too much testosterone and who aren't embarrassed of their manly instincts, let's not go overboard and leave some things to our imagination - which can sometimes be even better. I've had a deep love and appreciation of nature's beauty since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I've traveled to many a beautiful place and have seen truly amazing and magnificent displays of nature. I prefer the outdoors over urban settings (except for Bangkok, funnily) and have camped extensively in wondrous national parks both in Thailand and abroad. I've taken in many literal jaw dropping sights. Now I've always considered man to be a part of nature; not apart f…

There has been a good deal of social media comment recently regarding expat renewal of a 5 year DL. Rumour has it that some expats pitching up at the DLT have been given just 2 years on renewal , not the expected 5 years, as they didn't have a long enough time left on their annual O or OA visa extension. My 5 year DL expired in January, but I could not get a renewal appointment until this week (February). My visa extension is up to 3rd June. I was given a 5 year license, plus an extra 11 months, so very nearly 6 years. This was at the Rayong DLT Office. So, that supposed change to the rules was not applied, if indeed, it exists at all. For information only.

Here's a general community service post. Like me, I know everyone is searching for an unbiased search engine that brings up independent media outlets. I'm trying it out. If others do take it for a test run then rate it. Hopefully it meets up to expectations. AI driven. I'll certainly give my rating after using it for awhile. Big Tech Is Hiding the Truth – Now There Is a Search Tool That Exposes EverythingYou’ve seen it happen before. A story breaks like the Somali day care center corruption – and you go to Google to find the truth. But instead of names, events and raw facts, what do you get? You get a sanitized, curated feed that tracks your very action. You get the …

Ok, Lets get serious, and tell the truth. It will depend on where you live and how many you are supporting. So for me after over 10 years I can aggregate that to about 20,000 Aus a year, over time the dollar has been up to 30 Baht and is now 20 baht, So i am taking the average over the time.

I don't really expect any reaction to this subject, but here goes. I never liked the emotional turmoil of romantic break ups, so I always tried to make them amicable. However, with years comes lost friends and lost ex girlfriends/ partners. Maybe its older age, but I have had a need recently to contact some ex ladies friends of mine, discreetly, to ask how they are and to reconnect, but not at all romantically. Its been harder not being on social media, so it was just e mail, or through other friends. I have now connected with two of them, both happily married and both really pleased that I had contacted them after many years. It was great to catch up on news th…

Well, It's that time of the year again. Time to get in supplies, lock the gate and stay cooped up until the madness is all over. It's not the Thais that spoil it, apart from the exponential rise in drunks on the road, it's the idiot farangs, who think it's great fun to get the largest water gun they can find and piss everyone off, including, incidentally, the Thai's.

In my opinion AI can be a good thing, and is a good thing at least in certain respects. Google's AI returns remarkably good results on benign subject matter. As far as it's applications for performing work I think it's use should be limited. I don't buy into the idea that it can replace human decision making. Decision making relies on more than mere intelligence and existing information. And I certainly don't buy into the idea that it's "intelligence" can surpass the intelligence of humans. Humans use a very small percentage of their potential. The creators of AI ignore that fact, which leads them to believe in the possibility. Nor do I believe the claim …

All Expats - please go online and complete the Thailand Census for yourself, for your mates, and for anyone you can think of that wants you to do it - nudge nudge wink wink. This is what the Thailand Government looks at when it comes to population statistics for planning etc. Until they know how many of us there are, especially outside Bangkok, they will not recognise us and our contributions to the Thai economy and social fabric. You have until 20 April to complete the online survey and it takes about 2-3 minutes (max 5). The website below is in English - if you leave anything out it will give you and error (and it says what you did not complete). When it is clo…

https://unlimitedhangout.com/2025/03/investigative-reports/the-dark-maga-gov-corp-technate-part-2/ It's a 72 minute read FTI. "In continuing to unpack the ideologies of the oligarchs who are part of the new Trump administration, Iain Davis examines how their ideas are being translated into policy. He considers the consequent infrastructure rollout that is preparing the US and the world for an imminent Gov-corp Technate within a multipolar world."

Just like the CCC (controversial COVID corner) provides a platform on this Forum to discuss all things Covid, I perceive a need to also have such a platform to discuss the Climate Change hoax... I will be testing the waters by posting in the next couple of days some articles/studies here to see if it generates interest/debate, and if so a dedicated sub-forum could be launched addressing the climate fraud. Here already a start shot:

I have thought this for a long time - WTF decides what news stories to put on the forum?? IMO 90+% of them are total rubbish and would not impact 90+% of Expats. But there they are - heaps of them - totally irrelevant and uninteresting. Some numpty rolls a car and it is a story on the front page - who gives a rat's rear. Is no one filtering the stories on TT for what might be of interest to the majority of Expats on the Forum. Is that why 90+% of the comments are about US Politics, or Ukraine/Russia, or Middle East, or Covid. I look for stories that interest me (staying out of politics now), and there is SFA on this forum - too many BS stories I have absolutely no inte…
