Louise Sloper shared thisSo this eve we launch not only the start of our 50th (yes, 50th!!) season at TypoCircle with 50 new limited edition posters from some of our incredible community of industry creatives (including Paula Scher , Margaret Calvert, Alan Kitching, ANTHONY BURRILL DESIGN LTD, SuperMundane, and one by me too!), but also with a spanking new 50th anniversary VI by the incredible @studio drama! Thanks for being awesome partners. It’s been a delight working with you all! - Private view tonight. - Posters on sale from tomorrow at www.thpocircle.com/typo50 - New season lineup of talks to be announced (keep 26th October free!) - next SuperCondensed 30th October - become a member as the 50th anniversary Circular is out soon too… with a special members event start of next year too! Boom! 💥 ⚫️Louise Sloper shared thisEvery once in a while you get to work on a brief that fills you with immense joy from beginning to end. This is one of those projects. Ahead of their anniversary festivities, Studio DRAMA was approached by TypoCircle to craft an identity celebrating 50 years as an important fixture of the London design scene which has hosted so many of our industry’s best talents, whilst anticipating the next 50. Our response is an identity extending TypoCircle’s 2016 rebrand (crafted by Studio Sutherland and Dalton Maag) into a versatile graphic toolkit - transforming the black circle into a playground with near-infinite possibilities and a suite of fun motion idents. Many thanks to Louise Sloper and George Stockley-Gray at TypoCircle and Studio DRAMA for entrusting me to lead this project - as well as bringing so much creative energy to the process. It has been an absolute honour to get to work on this. Looking forward to raising a glass to TypoCircle’s Golden Anniversary next Thursday at their event at the Ministry.

Louise Sloper shared thisGorillas. One of the most magnificent beings on our planet. I have been so fortunate in my life to see in the wild (and learn and work with) the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda, on the steep slopes of the Virunga Massif Mountain range, and they changed my outlook on life forever. Far from the monsters they are portrayed in King Kong as, they are highly intelligent, gentle and curiously wonderful. These encounters (including working with the Orangutans and Chimpanzees) led to my study in Primatology, and deep love, understanding and appreciation for the Great Apes. As well as learning so much from and about the communities of humans that are associated. I can't wait to see this project unfold Ian Redmond !Louise Sloper shared thisFor #WorldGorillaDay let me share some clips from my recent trip to Rwanda with a film crew. I'm not at liberty to divulge what we were doing but it is very exciting and uses the latest cutting-edge kit. To minimise the impact on the gorillas, most of the crew stayed back so we couldn't see what the camera captured - frustrating, but it did lead to some wonderful encounters with young silverbacks, who often bring up the rear of the group. In the first clip, Karibu came and sat behind me so I zoomed in for a portrait, at which point he got up and came towards me. I backed away filming and zoomed out as I reversed into the bushes to give him room to strut past. In the second, he is eating Urera leaves and peel - gorillas eat the pith of many species' stems but with Urera they eat the peel and leaves, and discard the stem. Then a shot of him relaxing but very aware of the sounds of other group members in the thicket. Finally a still photo of a yawn - zoom in to check out gorilla dentition! Louise Sloper reposted thisLouise Sloper reposted thisWE’RE HIRING. I’m looking for a Junior Creative Assistant to join our team in the On the Beach Creative Studio. You'll get to work every day alongside me (sorry) and two extremely creative, talented, beautiful humans in Terry Donovan and Sam Hepplestone. You’ll be making ads, social content, emails, videos and all sorts of other things people will always ask for with "just do this quickly for me"* *You will not do it "just quickly". These people will send a brief. We’re also building an entirely new brand universe right now. And it's pretty f**king cool. If you’re great at design, curious about AI, full of ideas and want to make some fun, exciting, world-class work, I’d love to hear from you. You don’t need 14 years’ experience for this junior role. Just a strong portfolio, loads of potential and the willingness to get stuck in. Link to apply in the comments.

Episode Seven of ‘The Conversations' is live, and features the one voice unlike any other in the series: a conservationist who has spent fifty years living among mountain gorillas and elephants. Ian Redmond OBE is an internationally renowned conservationist and broadcaster, Head of Conservation for Ecoflix, and former envoy for the United Nations Great Apes Survival Partnership He began working with mountain gorillas alongside Dian Fossey in 1976, and has spent the five decades since studying gorillas, elephants, and the tourism built around them. He brought that rare, dual perspective, scientist and industry insider, directly into our conversation on why personal wellbeing is inseparable from the health of the planet, and why the small, human connections behind a stay, not the amenities, are what make travel genuinely meaningful. We spoke via video link for just over an hour and discussed: why wellbeing and ecosystem health are really the same conversation, what well-managed tourism looks like when its done right, why hes deeply concerned about AI-generated wildlife content flooding social media, and the one piece of advice he gives every tourism developer: hire local people. Ian also mentions NGOs doing amazing work, which he supports, such as Born Free Foundation, The Gorilla Organization and Ape Alliance. The series has already received plenty of praise, support, and engagement, so thanks to everyone for that. It's great to know that you appreciate listening to the very different views on what wellbeing-led and transformational hospitality actually means in the ultra-luxury market. All brought to you by Bryant Media Group Ltd Watch the full conversation on YouTube via the link in the comments. A huge thanks to Ian for his time, and for bringing a perspective on wellbeing and wildlife that nobody else in this series could have offered. You are a true living legend

Louise Sloper liked thisIf you enjoy wildlife on screens, does that connect you to nature? Or should you turn off your device and go outside to experience nature with ALL your senses? That is one of the topics we discuss in this conversation about well-being, both on a human and a planetary scale. Thank you, Ben, for inviting me to muse at such length on life, the universe and everything.Louise Sloper liked this"It's not just a few days' holiday; it's part of a longer story, and telling those stories is what makes these things meaningful. - Ian Redmond OBE, Internationally Renowned Conservationist; Broadcaster.
