  • Rams' Myles Garrett: Aiming for Week 1 return

Head coach Sean McVay said Monday that Garrett (knee) is making "really good progress" in the edge rusher's recovery, with the goal of playing in Week 1 against the 49ers, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.

Garrett, whom the Rams acquired in an offseason trade with Cleveland, didn't play in the preseason and has been unable to practice for most of August while dealing with swelling in his knee. The Rams remain hopeful that Garrett will recover by the time the team kicks off regular-season play against the 49ers in Australia on Thursday, Sept. 10. Los Angeles added more star power to its defensive line Sunday by signing defensive tackle Aaron Donald to a one-year, $20 million contract.

  • Rams' Puka Nacua: Working off to side Monday

Nacua (groin) was off to the side for team drills at Monday's practice, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.

Nacua returned to practice Sunday and is slowly ramping things back up 10 days ahead of the Rams' Week 1 opener against the 49ers in Australia on Thursday, Sept. 10. The star wideout has missed a sizable chunk of the summer, but he and Matthew Stafford already have elite chemistry and should be able to pick things back up rather quickly when the games count. Nacua has been a locked-in first-round fantasy pick.

  • Rams' Justin Dedich: Moves to IR

Dedich (undisclosed) was put on injured reserve with a designation to return by the Rams on Sunday, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

The offensive guard passed a physical Aug. 24 after dealing with a hand injury but still wore a wrap on the injured hand during practice. This move indicates that the Rams' coaches don't yet think he's ready for game action, as Dedich will now have to sit the first four games of the 2026 campaign. He should return to a reserve role once he's healthy.

  • Rams' Keagen Trost: Placed on IR

Trost (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return by the Rams on Sunday, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

The backup tackle suffered the hamstring injury in the first quarter of Los Angeles' first preseason game against Kansas City and had to miss the rest of training camp. His placement on IR means he'll have to miss at least the first four games of the regular season. Trost should play a reserve role once he returns.

  • Rams' Myles Garrett: DNP on Sunday

Garrett (knee) did not participate in Sunday's practice, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Garrett was not dressed for practice Sunday and was working off to the side with trainers. The Defensive Player of the Year's chances at a repeat award jumped this weekend as the Rams announced that Aaron Donald was returning to the team on a one-year $20 million deal. It is unclear when Garrett will return to practice, but if the team waits much longer to get him back in pads, there is a chance he will miss the Week 1 divisional matchup with the 49ers on Thursday, Sept. 10.

  • Rams' Puka Nacua: Back at practice Sunday

Nacua (groin) is practicing Sunday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Nacua made an early exit from the Rams' joint practice with the Cowboys on Aug. 11 and eventually was diagnosed with psoas soreness. Now almost three weeks removed from the initial injury, he's taking a step in the right direction by returning to drills. Los Angeles opens the season Thursday, Sept. 10 against the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, a contest for which the team likely is aiming for him to be available.

  • Rams' Aaron Donald: Officially rejoins Rams

Donald agreed to a one-year, $20 million contract to return to the Rams on Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Since the Rams acquired two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett in early June, Donald has been trending toward a comeback to the NFL, logging multiple tryouts with the Rams. Now that his conditioning has caught up and he's in football shape, Donald is back in the NFL for the first time since the 2023 campaign. Donald is 35 years old, so he likely won't be much more than a rotational defensive lineman to begin the year, but the freak of nature wouldn't surprise anyone by displaying vintage plays from time to time.

  • Rams' Matthew Caldwell: Lands on IR

The Rams placed Caldwell (undisclosed) on injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Caldwell joined the team as an undrafted free agent in April but is now dealing with an undisclosed injury. The 23-year-old will now be forced to miss the entirety of the upcoming campaign unless he's waived with an injury settlement.

  • Rams' CJ Daniels: Five receptions in finale

Daniels caught five of his six targets for 42 yards in Thursday's preseason finale against the Chargers.

Daniels received all of his targets from rookie first-round quarterback Ty Simpson. The wide receiver played 34 starting offensive snaps before retiring for the preseason. The rookie sixth-rounder's chance of making the Rams' 53-man roster will be a close call, but there is a good chance he will either beat out Xavier Smith for the spot or the Rams will keep seven wide receivers. If Daniels is waived during Sunday's cutdown day, he will likely be claimed by another franchise. However, if Daniels is waived and not claimed, he will likely end up as one of the primary depth options on the Rams' practice squad throughout the 2026 season.
