Rangers star refuses to play as manager drops him in it with explosive statement
Problems are mounting at Rangers during a troublesome start to Russell Martin's reign.
Rangers manager Russell Martin has expressed his frustration after Hamza Igamane allegedly claimed he was injured during the draw with St Mirren, hinting that the player refused to play for the club.
Lille have shown interest in the Moroccan throughout the summer, and it's understood by Record Sport that a loan offer was rejected by Rangers earlier this week.
Igamane has attracted attention from several clubs this summer, including Ligue 1 side Marseille and Feyenoord.
As the transfer deadline looms, Martin revealed that Igamane declined to come on during the 1-1 draw with St Mirren.
At the time of the refusal in Paisley, Rangers were behind before Findlay Curtis came off the bench to equalise in the Scottish Premiership match.
When asked by Sky Sports if there was a temptation to bring on Igamane in the second half, Martin responded: "Hamza told me he was injured. So, we had a big bid for Hamza this week, we rejected it, and all was fine.
"He trained fine yesterday, warmed up fine, and he turned round at 60 minutes because I wanted two strikers on the pitch.

"That's why Danny [Danilo] and Gass [Gassama] ended up there, and Hamza told me he is injured."
When questioned if the striker was now refusing to play, Martin replied: "I don't know. I have to trust him, but we will wait and see.
"The issue is that the transfer window is still open. There are a lot of people with one eye out the door and one eye in, and we need people to be all in, all the time, at this football club.
"There are still too many individuals who remain uncertain, thinking 'perhaps there is something here for me'.
"Therefore, the window needs to close swiftly and internally, we need to ensure that those who stay genuinely want to be here.
"I'm relaxed about it, Kevin [Thelwell] and Patrick [Stewart] are cognisant of the situation, and we will see how it unfolds."
When questioned about Igamane's future at the club, he responded: "It's 15 to20 minutes after the match, so I don't know where it goes. We will have to wait and see."
