If you are looking for you next holiday destination, then look no further. This African country has an abundance of stunning locations for you to choose from. Cape Verde is an island country and archipelagic state of West Africa, located in the central Atlantic Ocean. It is home to 10 different islands that have been dubbed as "heaven on Earth" and a "literal paradise".

Cape Verde's islands - São Vicente, São Nicolau, Santo Antão, Santa Luzia, Maio, Sal, Boa Vista, Santiago, Fogo, and Brava - all have their own unique selling points. Sal is the best option for a sun-fuelled, laid-back holiday. If beaches are your thing, then Boa Vista is the one for you. Santo Antão and Santiago are the best options for hiking and exploring. If you want to experience Cape Verdean culture at its height, São Vicente is the perfect destination. Fogo is the best location if trying local produce is what you are after, it also has stunning views and dramatic scenery.

Throughout each year, there are many festivals and celebrations being held in Cape Verde, including the São Vicente Carnival, which is held on Shrove Tuesday.

The country's warm climate is a huge pull factor, with the best time to visit being between November and June. It is located about a six-hour flight from the UK.

Many Cape Verde visitors believe it is a destination "like no others". TikTok user @raretares said in a video in which she showed her viewers around Boa Vista: "You cannot tell me this isn't literal paradise".

Youtuber KNT, in a video exploring Sal Island, described the location as "heaven on Earth".

While each of the islands offer stunning beaches for you to rest and relax on, they also allow for adventure with activities such as horseback riding, kite surfing, quad-biking your way around the island or even just crusing down the coast.

There is also plenty of wildlife to be found on and around Cape Verde including sting rays, turtles and snapfish.
