The Sun Never Sets on an Automattic 5K! Yesterday, Automatticians around the world laced up for the 11th edition of our global 5K relay. From one time zone to the next, we ran, walked, snapped a few photos, and passed the virtual baton around the globe. Different places. Different paces. One very fun day! Here are a few snapshots from along the way.

  • Today, we’re celebrating a life built around curiosity. On what would have been Om Malik's 60th birthday, friends, collaborators, and curious minds come together in San Francisco for the inaugural OmFest. It’s held at Swedish American Hall, the same venue where Om spoke at the very first WordCamp. Expect 12 hours of ideas, food, music, and conversation inspired by the many worlds Om brought together throughout his life: from technology and journalism to photography, design, watches, writing, music, and more. OmFest is less a traditional memorial and more a celebration of what Om did best: pay attention, stay curious, and connect people who might otherwise never meet. “If you pay enough attention to the present,” as Om once said, “you can see the future.” We’re proud to celebrate Om’s life, curiosity, and the connections that continue because of him. 👉 OmFest is currently underway, but there's plenty to come. • Nobody buys a WooCommerce extension on impulse, so if you're an affiliate marketer, make sure your content is as high-intent as your audience. When a store owner goes looking for one, it's likely because international orders are eating their week, their checkout is leaking sales, or subscriptions have turned into a spreadsheet nightmare. They already know what's wrong—they just need someone to point them to the fix. If you create content for WooCommerce store owners, you can be that someone. Our new Affiliate guide covers which Marketplace extensions to promote and which content formats — tutorials, comparisons—actually convert. Read the full guide: https://lnkd.in/d6XciA9M

  • Your Black Friday campaign is ready. But is your infrastructure? Join us on September 29 at 11 a.m. ET for a webinar on building a repeatable approach to peak-season readiness, with experts from WooCommerce, Pressable, and Automattic for Agencies. We’ll cover how to evaluate store readiness, determine what to promote, identify the performance and business metrics worth monitoring, and diagnose what’s happening when traffic increases but revenue doesn’t. We’ll also put AI to work with two live technical demos, using an AI agent with the Pressable and Woo MCPs to: • Load-test a store at 4X its normal traffic • Identify performance bottlenecks • Set up monitoring that runs throughout peak season Instead of rebuilding your Black Friday strategy every year, build a process you can test, monitor, and repeat. Your podcasts finally made it to the couch: Pocket Casts is now on Apple TV. If you're anything like us, you run your podcasts on Pocket Casts all day. They follow you through the commute, the workday, the dishes, and the walk with the dog. Then you get home, sit down in front of the biggest screen and best speakers in the house, and your podcasts aren't there. Now they're right there too. Open Pocket Casts on Apple TV and everything is already waiting for you: your shows, your Up Next, and your exact spot in every episode. Start something at the bus stop in the morning and finish it on the couch that night, no syncing or hunting around required. That's always been the idea behind Pocket Casts: the same experience everywhere you are. Read more on the Pocket Casts blog: https://lnkd.in/eJ8KVYhV

  • We love this insight from Jaye C. Mangahas into WooCommerce's customer satisfaction ratings. Check it out! 👇

Jaye has been leading our group focused on WooCommerce customer satisfaction reviews for a few years now. In this blog post, she explains how we take every bit of feedback customers leave us seriously, and continue to improve our process. In the past two years, Woo has gone from only 65% approval, to now regularly hitting our 90% target. Two years ago, we didn't think this target was realistic but the continuous feedback loop Jaye and her team created got us there! #csat and #cx at Automattic https://lnkd.in/d6Azahup

Woo is inviting you to a live conversation about building WooCommerce stores with block themes on September 30. Block themes enable deep levels of customization without expensive plugins, bespoke development, or custom code. We'll cover the work that went into blocks and the best practices for building with WooCommerce blocks. The conversation will range from the practical challenges people run into to advice for getting started, whether you're using a custom theme or Purple, WooCommerce’s block theme currently in beta. We’ll be joined by Mike McAlister from Ollie, alongside WooCommerce engineers Karol Manijak and Marco Lucio Giannotta. Join us live on September 30 at 10 a.m. PDT / 1 p.m. EDT / 7 p.m. CEST. • It may be a small tool, but it's a big time saver. The WP Trac Triager Chrome add-on now opens Trac tickets right in Contributor Toolkit. Nice work from JuanMa Garrido on making core contribution just a little more frictionless.

WordPress Contributor Toolkit v1.1.0 can now open Trac ticket links from the browser 🎉 https://lnkd.in/eVzb3uZS So I have added to "WP Trac Triager" Chrome add-on links to open tickets on Contributor Toolkit Open ticket → link it to a site → check out its PRs → start the dev server 🚀
