Jack Azagury posted thisAfter 29 wonderful years at Accenture, I have made the decision to pursue the next chapter of my career. My last day will be August 31st (more details on my new role to follow in early September). This is bittersweet for me — Accenture is an incredible organization. I am so grateful for Julie Sweet’s mentorship and leadership over the past 10+ years, all my colleagues that I have loved working beside and have supported me along the way, and all of the clients that trusted me to partner with them to do the difficult work of helping to transform their companies. I joined Andersen Consulting in 1996 with the intent of learning for a couple of years. Twenty-nine years later, this company of limitless opportunities has afforded me the chance to learn every day, support our clients on some of our most complex programs, and lead some of our largest P&Ls. I had the privilege of being part of our C-Suite responsible for our market-leading consulting team globally. On this journey, I have watched the company grow from less than 40,000 colleagues to almost 800,000. It has continuously redefined the consulting industry, as the leader in our field with unmatched breadth and depth. I have been fortunate to work with such talented people along the way and made life-long friendships. I know our team will take this company to even greater heights as we help our clients reinvent in the era of genAI.

Sometimes all it takes is exposure to a new idea, a new skill or a future someone had not yet imagined for themselves. This summer, I had the opportunity to meet students participating in the Exelon Foundation STEM Academies across our service territories. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of my role in leadership. These programs introduce students to STEM, energy and sustainability through hands-on experiences, helping them build confidence, expand their horizons and see themselves in opportunities they may never have considered before. I was especially impressed by the thoughtful questions students asked, which challenged me to reflect not only on my own leadership journey, but also on the value of maintaining curiosity and a growth mindset at every stage of a career. Thank you to the students, educators, mentors and Exelon employees who made this year's academies possible. I’m eager to see what this next generation accomplishes.

Jack Azagury reacted on thisJack Azagury reacted on thisAll good things come to an end and I will retire from Accenture at the end of this month to start the next chapter of my life; one that brings a shift in work / life balance, a lower golf handicap, an opportunity to do different things and time to spend with family and friends and especially my elderly parents and my wife who have supported me in my life and my career. It is a cliché but I will miss most the people that made Andersen Consulting / Accenture what it is and will continue to define it going forward. We have come so far in the last three decades and have evolved into a much more diverse organisation with opportunities available to so many more people. Since I started in 1989, I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with inspirational leaders who have coached and mentored me and given me the opportunity to have a varied and diverse career. Many have left Accenture and some are no longer with us (RIP) but the impact they have had on me will always be remembered and I will forever be grateful. I have also been fortunate to have led and worked with amazing teams in my different roles in Technology, Data & MI, Products, Financial Services, Infrastructure, Cloud, Technology Strategy and Security where we have really delivered outstanding outcomes for our clients. You often made the impossible possible and my success is down to you. I am passionate about stewardship and leaving the place better than when you joined; I hope to some extent I have been able to pass on my learnings for the next generation. No career in professional services is possible without clients willing to award work and to place their trust in you. Thank you to all the individuals and organisations that have done so; I am always conscious of the associated obligations and I would not have achieved any of my success without your partnership. I will now take a break to decompress and reset after 37 years. Most importantly, I wish good health to you all with whatever you do now and next.
