Syrinthia Studer shared thisThe work of WIF is rooted in a clear objective: to ensure women, nonbinary and trans persons have equal opportunity to participate in and lead the creation of stories that shape culture. Whether on screen, behind the camera or within our studios and production offices, we know all too well that who gets hired determines what gets made and ultimately what the world sees. With that in mind, ReFrame, the gender equity initiative from Sundance Institute and WIF, has released the latest report on Gender & Hiring in Film, with new data on representation in the year’s most popular films. https://lnkd.in/gUnHusr3 Friends, this year's findings are sobering: 🎬 Gender balanced films declined for the first time in six years 🎬 Only 26 of the Top 100 films met the gender balanced benchmark with women and gender expansive persons directing just 11 of those films. 🎬 On screen representation is moving backwards, with a 23.5% drop in women in leading roles and even greater for women of color (down 58.8% - the lowest level in 8 years!). This is not progress..this is a concerning reversal. We can and should do better! Please check out this year's report and consider the role we can each play, whether as industry insiders, allies or sponsors and supporters of WIF's mission work, in moving our business, art and culture forward. #ReFrameStamped #WomenInFilm #Leadership #Entertainment #GenderEquity

Syrinthia Studer shared thisGathering the extraordinary women whose storytelling has shaped the year in film at our annual Oscar Nominees Celebration is one of my favorite traditions at WIF. A moment to pause, celebrate, and reflect on the power of our creative community motivates me, our staff, fellow boardmembers and sponsors to this advocacy work. This year’s nominees made history at last night’s Academy Awards, with groundbreaking nominations and wins that continue to expand the space for women’s voices and leadership in our industry. Proud of the role Women In Film plays in championing these storytellers — and honored to celebrate them. #WomenInFilm #Oscars2026 #AcademyAwardsSyrinthia Studer shared this“So many of us have spent a career — or a lifetime — fighting for a seat at a table that was never built with us in mind. Tonight, we celebrate. Not because the work is done, but because we refuse to stop.” - Kirsten Schaffer, WIF CEO. Our favorite tradition ✨ There's something that happens when you put the most talented women in film in one room together. For 19 years, we've had the privilege of witnessing it — and this year's class of the 98th Academy Award nominees reminded us, once again, why we do this work. Why community matters. Why representation matters. Congratulations to the nominees; we see you, we honor you, and we're so proud to stand beside you. 🤍 #WIFOscars #Oscars #Oscars2026 #AcademyAwards #WomensHistoryMonth 📸: Shutterstock for WIF- John Salangsang

And of course, for my displaced industry colleagues, if I can support in other ways, please let me know. Syrinthia Studer shared thisGiving is a superpower we all possess. Serving on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles and as a past Women In Entertainment (WIE) mentor has shown me what’s possible when we invest our time, resources, and agency in others. This week’s The Hollywood Reporter x Entertainment Industry Foundation Women in Entertainment breakfast was a beautiful celebration of women leading our industry and the extraordinary young women rising with potential and promise. 11moSyrinthia Studer shared thisBig Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles is going PRIME time tonight! 🌟 We are proud to share that during tonight’s NFL Thursday Night Football game – Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills – our Bigs and Littles will be featured in the national debut of a brand-new PSA, “You Got This,” created in partnership with Amazon Prime Video. This PSA is part of an NFL season-long collaboration that shines a light on the power of mentorship and invites more people to join the movement by becoming a Big. We are deeply grateful to Emmy-nominated Thursday Night Football feature reporter and NBA on Prime host, Taylor Rooks, and Super Bowl Champion and Thursday Night Football analyst, Andrew Whitworth, for lending their voices to uplift mentorship and inspire change. What makes this moment especially meaningful for us is that the PSA was filmed right here in Los Angeles and features our very own BBBSLA Bigs and Littles, alongside friends at Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles County. Watching our matches light up the screen is a powerful reminder of the impact of one-to-one mentoring relationships. A huge thank you to the incredible team at Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America for championing mentorship and helping us expand our reach so that even more youth in Los Angeles can feel seen, supported, and empowered. No matter who you’re rooting for this season, when you root for young people, we all win. 💚 You got this: https://lnkd.in/gF_-XkbE

Syrinthia Studer reacted on this#LeadershipPrinciples Appreciate the feature by my LWD community!Syrinthia Studer reacted on thisAs part of our Leadership Principles series, we highlight the values that ground how women across our community lead and live. This month, we reflect with Marjorie C. Williams, Esq.,MBA and Flo Ngala, two leaders whose work reminds us that meaningful leadership begins with making people feel seen. For Marjorie, leadership is anchored in compassion and empathy. She believes trust is built through the everyday moments—leading with clarity, accountability, and respect, while ensuring people feel valued throughout the process. Her commitment to staying aligned with her values shapes the decisions she makes, the relationships she builds, and the legacy she continues to create. For Flo, leadership begins with curiosity. Whether she's behind the camera or behind the scenes, she approaches every interaction with genuine interest, creating space for people to share their stories beyond their titles and accomplishments. Through connection, she reminds us that seeing the person is just as important as capturing the portrait. Together, their reflections remind us that leadership isn't only about guiding others—it's about creating spaces where people feel heard, valued, and truly seen.

Syrinthia Studer reacted on thisSyrinthia Studer reacted on thisIt is not every day that we get movies of this scale centered on our community but built for ALL communities. In fact, it is almost not any day. And yet, HERE WE ARE.When it comes to the intersection of commerce, culture, and representation, this is it. If you are after inclusive, commercial, and impactful content, this is it. And if you want to see Viola and Idris and Thuso and Damson and Regina and Amandla and more all in the same movie, THIS IS IT. I am seated, pre-ordering my tickets, and running to the theater for this one. Not just because of the BRILLIANT Black talent on-screen but also the BRILLIANT Black talent off-screen. The incredible (and kind) director, Gina Prince Bythewood. The tenacious (and talented) development exec, Mika Pryce, who championed it. The incomparable (and generous) data analytics guru, Jamal Salmon. And SO MANY MORE. We have here a virtual murderer's row of Black excellence assembled for our cinematic pleasure and we WILL ensure its success. Cool? Cool! Syrinthia Studer liked thisSyrinthia Studer liked thisThis year’s Pinterest Impact Lab Summit (https://lnkd.in/gQ29spNK) brought a vision of Pinterest as a true partner to emerging community-based organizations to life. Over two days, 18 Impact Partners, community leaders and Pinterest employees came together for honest conversations about storytelling, funding in a challenging landscape, and what it takes to build resilient organizations. The curriculum and the sessions were shaped directly by what our partners told us they needed most and allowed us all to lead the way on youth emotional wellbeing together. I keep coming back to a moment I wrote about last year. At a panel at City Honors High School, supporting our Purpose Partner Our Own, a student raised her hand to ask a question just as we ran out of time. I found her later at lunch and asked what she'd wanted to say. She thought for a beat, then hesitatingly asked: "What do you do when you have a dream, but don't have the resources to achieve it?" The honesty. The maturity. The hope. The challenge. That question is exactly why the Summit matters. Resources - funding, tools, a platform to tell your story - are the difference between a dream and a system of support that outlasts any one of us. What inspired me most was seeing how far some of our earliest Impact Partners have come: From Our Own's growing impact with young people in LA and Oakland, to #HalfTheStory#HalfTheStory's leadership in digital wellness, to BEAM (Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective)'s powerful voice in community-based mental health. Their Pinterest boards became living strategic narratives, helping them tell their stories to funders and collaborators in a new, visual way. We often talk about how Pinterest inspires its users. But it's these purpose partners and the organizations like them who inspire us - and remind us why this work matters. I left more convinced than ever that when we design collaboratively with communities, we help grow lasting systems of care. Grateful to our Impact Partners for their trust, and to my teammates at Pinterest for continuing to show up as listeners, learners and co-creators in this work.
